Rockstar Games Apologizes for Disappointing GTA Trilogy Launch

Shortly after release last week, developer/publisher Rockstar Games has removed PC version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition from their own launcher amidst a sudden server outage and fans were disappointed.

GTA Trilogy Remaster became available on Rockstar Games Launcher after a few days and was updated. Players who purchased it wanted refunds and review-bombed it on Metacritic, which lead Rockstar to apologize for such a mess.

In a latest blog post, Rockstar has issued a statement apologizing to fans for a disastrous launch and promised to resolve known issues. They even rolled out first major post-release update for GTA: Remastered Trilogy to fix many bugs.

Rockstar Games accidentally added highly controversial "Hot Coffee" mini-game mode original dev notes and unlicensed music that they later removed from PC version of GTA Trilogy but not before modders have already found them.

Rockstar will also bring back original versions of Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas and Vice City on their PC store soon. Definitive Edition owners can have these games for free and will have a Title Update to work out few major issues.

Anyone buying a copy of GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition from Rockstar Games Launcher through June 30, 2022, will get free copies of classic versions added to their library while they eventually patch out existing technical issues at hand.

Update 1.02 for GTA Trilogy fixes camera bug, localization issues, misplaced objects and wrong subtitles across all platforms. Other problems regarding animation glitch, character models and rain visual effects have also been updated.

Rockstar Games have admitted launching Grand Theft Auto: Remastered Trilogy in a state that is not up to their quality standards. They also urged fans not to harass any Grove Street Games' members on Twitter and try being patient.
