Announced through a development update in August, developer 343 Industries and publisher Xbox Game Studios reveals to delay campaign co-op and Forge mode for upcoming first-person military shooter game Halo Infinite at launch.

Infinite campaign co-op and Forge mode were postponed to next year instead of holiday 2021, with no definitive release window. After recent release of Halo Infinite Season 1, both of these features have been pushed back even further.

343 Industries previously stated to release Infinite campaign co-op in Season 2 and Forge mode with Season 3 post-launch content. However, after recent extension of multiplayer Season 1, they may come later than originally expected.

Infinite co-op and Forge mode are still launching alongside next two seasons but not until May 2022, instead of early next year. 343 Industries had plans to release new seasons after every three month but Season 1 extends a bit longer.

Head of creative, Joseph Staten also confirmed this during a recent interview saying that they needed more time to meet high quality standard for Season 2 and finish development in a way that is healthy and sustainable for entire team.

Their primary goal of shipping co-op and Forge mode for Halo Infinite through Season 2 and 3 are still there. 343 Industries is currently busy focusing on multiplayer beta and can't announce any set dates for upcoming Seasons right now.

If dev team realizes that progression system isn't working as they intended, they may have to engage is bigger tasks at hand first. Afterwards, dev team will make further decisions together and let everyone know what they will do next.

Halo Infinite had a surprise launch of its free-to-play multiplayer component ahead of official release on 20th anniversary of Xbox earlier. 343 already stated to make change into Battle Pass system that lets player to earn XP a little easier.
