God of War: Ragnarök May Have Finished Development and Playable Now

Although set to arrive this year, fans are concerned that upcoming action-adventure game God of War: Ragnarök by developer Santa Monica Studio may get delayed once again at last-minute since no official release date is announced yet.

Earlier this month, a leak on PlayStation Store hinted at potential delay but a Bloomberg report suggests a November 2022 release. However, God of War: Ragnarök producer Cory Barlog may be teasing that development is complete now.

Cory Barlog made a Tweet recently, sharing an image of him holding a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. God of War fans quickly assumed that Ragnarök may have finished development and is currently in a playable state, teasing a reveal.

Barlog added a vague caption saying, "Steam Deck arrived…but probably won't get to play it for a while because I'm currently playing this other thing…" and though he didn't mention anything, he may very well be hinting at GoW: Ragnarök.

Santa Monica Studio creative director Cory Barlog probably teases playing GoW: Ragnarök in his recent Tweet.

If implications are true, then Barlog is possibly hinting an upcoming gameplay and release date reveal for Ragnarök very soon. Often teasing fans on social media, Barlog seemingly confirms a 2022 launch window for the God of War sequel.

God of War: Ragnarök will conclude Norse adventure saga because it will take way too long for a trilogy, according to Cory Barlog. Many familiar faces will return alongside Kratos and Atreus, including a new cast of characters in Ragnarök.
