Control and Death Stranding Gets Most Nominations at DICE Awards

Control and Death Stranding are on top list of nominees at D.I.C.E. Awards, receiving eight nominations each.

Despite being two major contenders for "Game of the Year" accolades for 2019, both Control and Death Stranding ended up losing the crown to action-adventure title Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by Japanese studio From Software.

Now those two games are heading to upcoming 23rd annual D.I.C.E. Awards this award season earning most number of nominations each, to compete against each other over multiple categories including Game of the Year.

Though started off with a few issues on consoles at launch, reception towards Control was mostly positive. However, that didn't reflect largely when it comes to winning awards and it has won for Best Art Direction at TGA 2019.

On the other hand, social strand genre pioneer Death Stranding was a highly-anticipated title from game director Hideo Kojima following his infamous departure from Konami and has divided audience in terms of reviews.

As people living in isolation require supplies, they rely on reputed deliveryman Sam, who works for a company named Bridges. Aside from handing out parcels, he attempts to reconnect United Cities of America under a Chiral Network.

He is aided by his "DOOMs" factor to be aware of mysterious BTs at all times but additionally he carries a Bridge Baby and an Odradek scanner. Sam is handed over his missions by fellow Bridges member Deadman and Die-Hardman.

Amount of packages you carry out will affect your overall performance but you can always use a bike or steal an enemy truck to reduce trouble. Other than walking on foot, sometime you may have to rely on ladders and ropes on various terrain.

Having too much goods on your back will even hold you back from resisting when BTs will try to drag you out. Handing over these requested cargos would often bring you new cosmetic items, working tools or something to fight them.

Death Stranding Update for Days Gone Live Now

Bridge Baby from Death Stranding makes its way into open-world survival game Days Gone in latest update patch.

Now that Death Stranding, hotly-anticipated action strand game of 2019 has been released for PlayStation 4, players can finally get a career of making deliveries in a post-apocalyptic world carrying their "Bridge Baby" in a pod.

However, PS4 owners can also go out exploring another dystopian world of survival horror in Days Gone from developer Bend Studio with its newest content update, carrying same theme from latest title of Hideo Kojima.

Recent release of patch 1.6 brings exclusive cosmetic upgrades for free that are unlockable in both starting a new game and game plus mode. Your motorbike tank gets replaced with a BB unit usually carried around by Sam Porter Bridges.

You will be riding Deacon's same drifter bike model but it will be modified with tanks, decals, and frame paint. This probably doesn't give you the same weird vibe of Death Stranding but having BB sucking its thumb inside is pretty close.

An official Tweet from developers have announced release of their newest update with a short preview trailer for it.

Instead of being haunted by ghostly creatures known as "Beached Things", players will be running away from hordes of freakers. Whether they are chasing a guy on a bike or a baby in gas tank matters little to these mindless monsters.

Additional fixes include ability to numerously reset Ambush Camps, Hordes, Infestation Zones and Jobs. "Black Friday" leaderboard gets a one-time only reset and number of Freaker ears is increased to let you repurchase ammo and weapons.

During development phase of DS, both Kojima Productions and Guerrilla Games were working together in collaboration. Bend Studio has contributed as well and now they are introducing gears and items inspired by the game.

Days Gone arranged an unconventional cross-promotion to celebrate launch of Death Stranding that only make sense in a twisted way. Another nice little common ground these two titles have is that they both divided critics and fans upon release.

Death Stranding Launch Trailer

An insane, spoiler-filled official launch trailer for upcoming strand game Death Stranding is released.

Roughly a week or so to release worldwide on November 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4, upcoming action game Death Stranding from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment delivers its last strand.

A few days ago, game director Hideo Kojima invited fans to witness official launch trailer for his latest open-world adventure and like each of his past DS videos, it has left a lot of weird questions in our mind than giving any straight answers.

Opening scene shows a large door to some sort of secret facility is being breached and Cliff is seen trying to save his Bridge Baby. Despite his best efforts, he eventually is discovered and fought till his last moment against all odds.

He probably was working on a top-secret project regarding teleportation that was going to be hijacked either by government or any private organization. In a desperate attempt to save his work, he must have accidentally accessed Hades.

It is highly likely, that opening of a portal to an alternate dimension has lead otherworldly beings known as "Beached Things" into this world, ushering an extinction-level that has decimated life and forcing society to collapse.

In an attempt to reconnect United Cities of America under a single Chiral Network, Amelie and her organization Bridges were working. She was taken hostage by "Homo Demons" and deliveryman Sam Porter Bridges is tasked to bring her back.

Sam primarily comes to conflict with their leader Higgs and eventually stands opposing Cliff at one point. While dealing with human enemies like members of MULE, he befriends a survivor named Fragile who would become a great ally.

In a quick roll, almost all of main characters are seen shedding tears at some point of their lives in-game. Aside from usual BTs, a flying whale-like creature called Extinction entity is shown dropping corpses covered in black liquid as it flies by.

The game features a prominent cast of Hollywood actors like Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, The Walking Dead) and Troy Baker (Mortal Kombat X, Resident Evil 6) in lead roles.

Death Stranding is all set to arrive on PS4 next month and is no longer a console exclusive title since Kojima Productions recently announced to release it for PC platform on early 2020, teaming up with publisher 505 Games.
