Christmas passed, New Year's Eve came and gone, we also passed the first month of 2018 already and now we are approaching the month of Valentine as great video games are lined up for the month of February, free on PlayStation Plus from Sony Entertainment. Since we have had our mix of action role-playing and episodic graphic adventure games with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Batman: The Telltale Series back in January, it's time for a little change.

As a heads up for what's packing for the month of February 2018, let's take a quick glance at the additional lineup for February 2018 free games on PlayStation Plus.

  • Spelunker HD (PlayStation 3)

The first game that the PlayStation Plus members are gonna enjoy is RiME that was released for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last year. This one is about a young boy who is out on a remote island, looking for his father who got lost in a storm. Players are to find the father by run, climb, push, pull or even sing on occasion to solve various environmental puzzles as they go. There is a change of perspective in one certain point which is the real kicker.

The next game we want to talk about is Knack, where you play as the mysterious size-shifting creature of the same name to protect the world from an invading force of Goblins, led by Gundahar. Knack offers you simple fun-time adventure alone or with your family while you explore the vivid in-game world without worrying for anything else for the time being.

We mentioned last month and as a friendly reminder, would like to remind you that you can get Starblood Arena for free as a bonus till March 6 with your PlayStation Plus subscription. This is an arena combat game which is designed to play on VR and what better way to experience this one with your very own PS VR headset? We can't think of any right now. So, prepare for a journey throughout the galaxy for credits and glory.

If you got some more appetite for some puzzle genre, which comes with the mix of RPG and strategy then we suggest that you get your hands on Gems of War from 505 Games. All you have to do is to get a PlayStation Plus Starter Pack within February 13 to March 13. You will get 10 rare gem keys, the Nobend Brothers troop and 2,500 souls along with the pack.

That's about all the game we had listed for you for the month of February and hopefully, you will have a pleasant month playing all those title brought for you by Sony and PlayStation.

The first game that features our menu is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, a game from 2016 that is action RPG and has some stealth in play. Our next big thing on the list is Batman: The Telltale Series, which is simply awesome if you ask me. Below is a clip to give you guys a good look at what's packing for the month of January.

Before we go deep with it, let's take a quick glance at the additional lineup for January 2018 free games on PlayStation Plus.

  • Sacred 3 (PlayStation 3)
  • The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PlayStation 3)
  • Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness (Cross Buy with PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4)
  • Uncanny Valley (Cross Buy with PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4)

The very first game that the PlayStation Plus members as they were given free access to is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The game is a direct sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Eidos Montréal and Square Enix. You play as Adam Jensen in the year 2029 when mechanically enhanced humans controlled by the Illuminati are on the loose. Though the group successfully covers their tracks in this incident, Jensen is left to clear the mess. The game is mostly played from a first-person perspective and the cover system switches to third person.

The next game in the line is Batman: The Talltale Series; a fresh new take on The Dark Knight from TelltaleGames. This is a chance for you to discover the world of Batman sometime as his alter ego Bruce Wayne and then at times as the Caped Crusader against the collective criminal scum of Gotham City. Like many of the other games from Talltale, choice always matters and will lead you to different endings.

We would also like to remind all the PlayStation Plus members out there that there is a bonus PlayStation VR game for you, which is Starblood Arena. This is an arena combat that is designed to be played in VR and what better gear there is other than a PS VR headset? It's your chance to wander across the galaxy to compete with the best pilots out there for the glory of victory. You can get your hands on the game from January 2 and it will be up till March 6.

There you go with a handful of great games to start 2018 with. Hope it will keep you busy till February 13 2018 and give you a pretty good gaming experience. So, keep playing and Happy New Year!

Doom VFR Out Now

If you fantasize about fighting against hordes of demons and blasting their brains off then Doom is surely your thing. But how about you take things up a bit with a VR controller in Doom VFR? Things will go boom for sure and you are gonna love it if you're not faint of heart. You will wield the Super Shotgun or the destructive BFG while almost feeling the weight of the weapon and have the most epic experience of Doom!

We are getting into the details of Doom VFR shortly after you take a quick look at what it offers to the players in this short clip below.

You will find yourself amidst a chaos which started as demons from Hell starts pouring out from a portal on the UAC Martian Research facility. All are dead but only you are left till they put the drop on you. There was a top-secret UAC operational contingency protocol which shifts your consciousness into another body in the base. This may seem like a teleportation movement in the base at times.

So, the bursting demonic skulls and shooting stuff into a virtual reality hell in Doom VFR is really something that will always bound to keep you on the edge of your seat. Though you are certainly outnumbered by the massive number of your enemies but you will never out of choice for a gun from your arsenal that will not satisfy you by blowing your demonic opponents to bits. The BFG, Heavy Assault Rifle and Plasma Rifle are only a few to name among them.

Virtual Reality Hell

It doesn't take for a genius to know that in a first-person shooter game, you always got to keep moving as it is the key-part of your survival. Doom VFR is no different in this case as well. Plus, if you are using your trusty PS VR Aim controller, the accuracy of your aim to kill will give you some great demon-slaying satisfaction. Oh, there are five unique weapon mods to blow up those fiends back to the depth of Hell they came from.

Doom VFR is already out compatible with PlayStation VR and HTC Vive headsets for players to enjoy worldwide. While some might think that the game probably is just a VR version of the 2016's title it is actually much more than that. This one is a carefully crafted version to outfit the strength and weaknesses of VR and it's really worth your interest.

So, we can assume that the month of October brings out the flavor of action-adventure stealth blended with survival horror theme. Before we get to it, let's take a quick glance at the October 2017 lineup for free games on PlayStation Plus.

We have told you this on August, reminded you again in September that the party game That’s You! is still up till October 23, 2017. That means, if you still haven't gave it a try and have fun with the company of your friends and family members, then you have less than one month to do it before it leaves PlayStation Plus. So, grab your TV, PlayStation 4 and Android/iOS phone or tablet devices and join the party.

  • Monster Jam Battlegrounds, PS3

The game is pretty good just like any other that belongs to the series and you already know it if you have played it whether or not you have a PS Plus membership. Even if you haven't, then this is a perfect opportunity to try this out or if you already have, then you can just re-live those old memories again.

We then move on to the second attraction of our list, which is the Amnesia: Collection. This one got both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs in it. If you are not afraid of the dark, probably this collection is just for you to try on. So, get your socks on to get lost into the darkness of memory and a lot of mess.

Since October marks the one year anniversary for PlayStation VR, the PlayStation Store is in a celebrating mode and they are offering free games and exclusive discounts. So, get that for yourself while you can before it is too late.

What else we got for you? Well, unless you are a fan of turn-based-strategy collectible card game we have nothing! On the contrary, if you do, then we may have something left just for you and one more thing; you have to have a PS Plus membership for this one too.

If you fulfill the above mentioned requirement, then we got Hand of the Gods Closed Beta from the creators who are responsible for games like SMITE and Paladins, which will be starting from October 17. You can also get a Plus Pack that will be available prior to November 14.

Doom, Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR Release Date

Virtual reality is becoming a trend these days and it is also impacting the video game industry. Many studios who realize the potential of riding this tide are releasing VR versions of their popular titles now to give their fans an all-new 3D experience and Bethesda Softworks decides to be wise like that. So, what they did is that they have taken projects of pre-existing games like Doom, Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to produce VR versions for them.

doom fallout 4 skyrim vr
Doom, Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR Release Date

Doom
Aside from the superior graphics excellence of modern time, Doom actually hasn't evolved from its core concept of shooting massive hordes of demons from Mars, beside the improved visuals have amplified the intensity of the game even more. We are not saying that's a bad thing but how about getting a bit more up close and personal with the minions of Hell? That wouldn't be so bad and Bethesda already gave us a preview of how it would look like at E3 2017 Showcase. We agree that Doom VFR will blow first person shooter loving gamers mind if not the brains.

Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is perhaps the most successful title of the entire Fallout series and probably that is why Bethesda has chosen the title for a VR treatment. As you struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, the virtual reality makes the aspects of the game pretty real to you. The entire game is re-imagined and you will notice that in combat and crafting. It's not just a tour of the Wasteland but the complete in-game world of the original game and t hat includes hundreds of locations. Even if you have played Fallout 4 before, this is a chance to experience the game once more with a new perspective.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The entire open world of action role-playing game Skyrim along with three of its official DLC; Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire are what you are getting in Skyrim VR. The scale and depth of this epic fantasy is re-imagined as you fight to save the world from the menace of the fabled dragon Alduin the World-Eater. Fighting dragons and exploring mountains will be more lifelike now than it was when you played Skyrim previously. Be sure to choose your own way to roam this open world as you play.

What we learn about the release dates for these VR projects are that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will see release for PlayStation VR on November 17 and then on HTC Vive at some point in 2018. Doom VFR will come out next on December 1 for PlayStation VR and Vive. Fallout 4 VR will be released on PC for the HTC Vive and the release date is December 12. So, we can be pretty thankful to Bethesda Softworks for bringing us all these virtual reality games throughout the year and expect them to create some original VR games as well.
