Hitman 2 Winter Update

Developer IO Interactive introduces Update 2.13 for Hitman 2 that includes new mission, item unlocks and the Snow Festival.

Winter is here! Believing this season is as good as any other to eliminate targets, developer IO Interactive and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment rolled in an update for Hitman 2, their latest release from the action-adventure stealth video game series Hitman.

Update 2.13 is a major game changer to introduce a slew of brand-new content for everyone with lots of improvements to make the game better and it is going to be the first add-on for Expansion Pass owners since launch.

Available from January 21, Update 2.13 will take Agent 47 to Hokkaido, Japan to take care of a target named Dmitri Fedorov as part of a winter-themed seasonal event "Snow Festival". For a limited time from today, it will be going on live and run till February 12.

Those who already played the 2016 game Hitman are familiar with Hokkaido as it was one of the six locations and is also included in the free downloadable Hitman Legacy Pack for owners of that game alongside new gameplay elements.

The developers have enhanced and updated the location with some lights to color it up some more to make it suitable for the festival. The Winter Sports Pack introduces items like arctic tool box, piton, quickdraw, snowball and winter sports suit.

Upon unlocking those during the event will allow players to keep them for use forever. The tight-fitting sweater helps you fight right into the snowy occasion and the snowball is a good way of distracting others. Aside for climbing, the spiked piton could be a deadly weapon if you want.

The Winter Sports Pack DLC comes along with the two-part Expansion Pass that costs only $39.99 and is also included with the H2 Gold Edition costing $99.99. Those who have purchased H2 Silver Edition by spending $79.99 will receive the first half.

Of course this content doesn't cover Expansion Pass 1 in its entirety as there will be challenges, location, missions, outfits, weapons and a brand-new map for Sniper Assassin mode. So, presumably Warner Bros. will be rolling out more content over time.

Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season PC Version Will Be Exclusive to Epic Games Store

The two remaining episodes of Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season will be exclusive on PC to Epic Games Store.

After picking up the pieces from the ruins of Telltale Games, Skybound Games got back at the development of episode three of episodic survival horror adventure Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season in November and scheduled the release date for January 15, 2019.

Then developer of massively popular game Fortnite, Epic Games have launched their own digital storefront with a relatively small lineup and now, the final two episodes of the acclaimed series will be available exclusively on Epic Games Store for PC.

RELATED: Epic Games Store Launch Lineup Revealed

One of the shocking events in the gaming industry this year was probably when we learned about developer/publisher Telltale Games is shutting down after laying off majority of their workforce, which also meant that many of our beloved series will never see light.

Around that time, Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season was halfway in development. However, The Walking Dead comic-book creator Robert Kirkman (Haunt, Invincible) announced at New York Comic Con 2018 that his company Skybound Games will complete the remaining episodes.

RELATED: Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode Three Release Date

Skybound took responsibility of the final two episodes and brought in the original developers who previously worked on the series to complete the project. Epic Games came forward to help putting the original team back together to give fans what they want.

Now that Epic has become the exclusive platform to serve the third and fourth episode of the game on PC, it is not going to be available in other storefronts like Humble Store or Steam anymore unlike the previous seasons.

RELATED: Skybound Will Complete Telltale's Walking Dead

If anyone has already purchased the Season Pass for PC version of the game then they won't have to move to Epic's marketplace. Regardless of their chosen storefront, the players will receive access to the concluding chapters anyway.

Below is a Q&A video starring the voice actor of Clementine, Melissa Hutchison with detailed FAQ on the new sales exclusivity.

RELATED: Telltale Games Removed From Steam

In a rapid-fire fashion, Hutchison let fans know that the previously downloaded versions of all three seasons will still be playable and choices can be carried over to The Final Season as long as you can retrieve them locally or have a cloud save on Telltale.

When they will be able to arrange sales for physical copies, the news will be shared on their social handles for fans to know. In time, they will also announce the launch date for the season on Android and iOS devices as well.

RELATED: Telltale Games to Shut Down

They way Telltale Games have closed its door on their employees was really a dick move. Plus, we will probably never see another season of Batman: The Telltale Series, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and The Wolf Among Us, because no one is working on them.

Skybound Games stepping up to ensure a proper sendoff to the series and give a deserving conclusion to Clementine was truly commendable. Similarly, Epic Games Store made a smart move by partnering up is this initiative through their digital distribution platform.

Street Fighter V Won't Have Season Pass for 2019

Unlike past seasons of Street Fighter V, Capcom has no plans for a Season Pass of DLC characters for the 2019.

After finishing the year in grace with Capcom Cup 2018, developer/publisher Capcom decided to introduce a brand-new character for their immensely popular fighting game Street Fighter V and they did so a few days ago with Kage (Kah-Gay).

With that announcement, the company is showing up intention of mixing things up in 2019 for SFV. Season 4 is just on the horizon and players thought that reveal of this new character DLC would come up with more details on Season Pass but apparently, they don't have a plan for it.

Though people are calling the character out as a bad Halloween costume for Ryu or some citing this as just another crazed cosplay character, he is the physical embodiment of the Satsui no Hado and not Evil Ryu to be very specific.

The initial reaction from the fans for Kage was mostly mixed but many of them were not much interested about his inclusion anyway. You can purchase the currently available DLC for only $5.99 or in exchange for 100,000 Fight Money.

However, Capcom didn't go on hinting at who else would be there on their content plan for next season and announced the following on Twitter.

Of course they have no intention to stop with Kage and probably bring in more fighters next year but instead of offering a bundle of half-dozen warriors for a discounted price, they will probably sold them separately for in-game currency or real money. We are not sure yet.

There is also a possibility that the developers are moving towards a sequel or going for a free-to-play model. Producer Yoshinori Ono of Street Fighter V mentioned in a 2016 interview to Famitsu that they have plans to support the game to 2020 at least though.

Soulcalibur 6 Adds 2B from NieR: Automata

The combat android 2B from action RPG NieR: Automata will be joining the fight in Soulcalibur VI very soon.

Even though weapon-based fighting game franchise Soulcalibur has pioneered many other titles to step into the ring, it heavily struggled to stay popular and relevant over time and Soulcalibur VI is trying to bring it back on track by as a reboot to the series.

The game was already in talks for featuring a huge guest appearance of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and now Bandai Namco Entertainment is planning to bring the android heroine of NieR: Automata, 2B as their next guest fighter.

YoRHa No. 2 Type B will be added to the roster as the second guest character while wielding her signature dual blades. You can already see many of her fighting styles originated from the action role-playing game of Square Enix are adapted into it.

Additionally, she will have a custom costume inspired from NieR's Kaine, a brand-new themed stage, award-winning background music from the original game, spear weapon, extra parts and stickers as shown in the gameplay trailer above.

Since 2B was created to fight against an army of hostile robots that invaded the planet, her fighting capabilities and skills are unquestionable. Aside from acrobatic prowess, she is profound in melee attacks and she intends to continue fighting as long as she can for the glory of mankind.

During combat, 2B will be assisted by her robot companion Pod 042 to perform long distance attacks on her opponents. She is introduced in the game as a complete package because of her unmatched fighting abilities and for a great crossover value.

Although when 2B will join the cult classic series is yet not confirmed, we know that it would be through a downloadable content included in the Season Pass priced $29.99 only. However, buying the Soulcalibur VI Deluxe Edition for only $89.99 automatically adds her with two other playable characters when they are released.

One of the returning fighters from the series, Tira will join 2B when the season pass finally launches in an undisclosed date in near future. Maybe we get to see Bandai Namco include Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII or Kratos from God of War next.

You can still make a stand-alone purchase for the remastered titles if you are not at all interested to buy the Season Pass for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Ubisoft made the same approach with Far Cry 3 Classic Edition when it came along with Season Pass of Far Cry 5.

So, after you complete your quest on Greece as Alexios or Kassandra, you can have some more fun-time with Connor or the first female protagonist of the series, Aveline de Grandpré to experience the era of American Revolution.
