Resident Evil Netflix TV Series to Begin Production in June

According to latest reports, Resident Evil Netflix series adaptation will be starting production this June.

Back in 2019, Deadline reported of a brand-new Resident Evil TV series adaptation being in development for online streaming mogul Netflix, in association with the German distribution and production company Constantin Films.

After years of rumor and speculations, a project is finally going forward this year by starting pre-production in April and then begins filming in June through October for a possible 2021 world premiere, according to reports.

A fan site named Redanian Intelligence that previously revealed information on Netflix's The Witcher show before it arrived and afterwards, has discovered a production entry for Resident Evil series as well as some key details.

Apparently, Netflix is planning for eight episode season and each of them are 60-minutes in length. This structure has become a set standard for many of their popular original shows these days and people seem to have no problem with it.

Contrary to live-action films being shot in Canada and Mexico, production will be set in South Africa for most part. After a few months of post-production, a spring 2021 release is likely to happen if there is no need for re-shoots.

Constantin Films has previously backed RE movie franchise but they have no plans to canonically connect film adaptation to upcoming series other than basic plot concepts of nefarious Umbrella Corporation and their illegal operations.

Another report claimed that impending show will feature and focus around daughters of renowned series antagonist Albert Wesker. However, currently there is no official announcement to confirm that claim to be true.

Original report that came out last year stated that Resident Evil Netflix series will try to put together all signature aspects of survival horror, many iconic action sequences and even Easter Eggs to appeal to legion of hardcore-fans.

The Last of Us Part 2 to Feature Nudity & Sexual Content

ESRB rating for The Last of Us Part 2 reveals to feature nudity and explicit sexual content, a first for a Naughty Dog game.

Known as original developer of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series, Naughty Dog studio is largely known for developing family-friendly games but then they started to lean more towards adult themes during PlayStation 3 era.

With 2013 release of acclaimed action-adventure survival horror The Last of Us, a lot of gore and graphic violence was introduced but upcoming The Last of Us Part II will be the first Naughty Dog title to feature nudity and sexual content.

According to new age rating given by ESRB on official PlayStation Store page, TLoU2 received "M" for "Mature" mark. Its predecessor title has already displayed intense violence but they never really explored explicit content territory.

Though an early demo of TLoU Part II had some comments and mild overtone at adult themes, they were actually too subtle to be on the nose. It simply shows Ellie and Dina talking about their relationship while sharing a joint together.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Gameplay Details

As an adult now, Ellie is romantically involved with a girl named Dina and there may be intimate moments between them that are shown throughout gameplay when she goes on a killing spree after something wrong probably happened to her love.

Adding "nudity" and "sexual content" is a major leap for Naughty Dog since they were mostly suggestive in past when it came to intimate subject. These content warning is a clear hint of studio claim for most mature and adult tale yet.

Though major studios often make sex scenes between video game characters awkward and cringey, Naughty Dog can be trusted to make an artistic and true-to-life depiction for a story, given their reputation in narrative design.

Though many fans were disappointed when news of The Last of Us Part II being delayed came out but then game director Neil Druckmann assured everyone that it will make fans proud when it finally arrives on May 29, 2020.

It was a huge shocker to many fans for developer/publisher Nintendo coming out announcing a sequel to acclaimed 2017 action-adventure game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild during Nintendo Direct presentation at E3 2019.

Since then, not much have been out there that players know about but most recently, a new leak from image-based online bulletin board 4chan may have revealed a title for the game along with some exciting gameplay details.

Same leak has also stated that animals are to have bigger roles in Bond of the Triforce and players will be able to ride a bear. Moreover, new enemies and items will make debut, aside from a magic gauge, likely to be for Zelda.

Slingshot will return and one of those new items is supposedly be a plow-looking weapon to deal with large group of enemies at once. This "leaker" can be making things up or could have legit inside information but there is no way to confirm that.

Microsoft Will Pay Hackers to Find Xbox Security Issues

Gamers and non-gamers seeking to earn big cash can join Xbox Bounty Program and get paid for finding bugs.

In an attempt to find out vulnerabilities within their security systems, Microsoft has recently launched Xbox Bounty Program that will pay out anyone to detect major issues of Xbox Live service or even hack Xbox One systems.

Whether you are an Xbox gamer or not, you can earn reward amounts from as minimum as $500 to highest $20,000 depending on how critical these issues actually are and how thoroughly they are being reported to authority.

All a person with bug-hunting skills needs to do is to send their report in writings or a video clip demonstration. Microsoft is looking for detecting elevation of privilege, remote code execution, spoofing and other key problems than DDoS attacks.

Major companies often offer bug bounties to actual product users for effectively finding flaws in their software. This way, they save a lot of money from spending in researches and more work is getting done on a regular basis.

This initiative will attract many security researchers and technologists for a chance to earn a lot of money. Although some submissions are not eligible for financial incentives, Microsoft will still acknowledge any effort if a report leads to a fix.

However, there is no implication of any vulnerability in Xbox Live services and purpose of this announcement is to let people know that the company is very willing to pay five figure sums than facing a critical hit and loss of personal information.

Back in 2011, Sony Entertainment came under a major security hack that took down PlayStation Network for 23 days and instead of being generous to hackers for their help with security systems, they only offered white hats a t-shirt.

Fallout 76 Wastelanders Update to Bring Back Faction Reputations

Wastelanders update for Fallout 76 will reintroduce human NPCs and reputation system that rewards for faction loyalties.

Aside from many missing features, player complaints for online action role-playing game Fallout 76 were largely focused on linear quests types and developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks plans to address that issue in Wastelanders update.

Though there has not been a confirmed release window for when upcoming Wastelanders expansion would be releasing, Bethesda has recently revealed a bunch of important details about how its faction reputation system will work.

F76 had its fair share of enemies such as mutant creatures and robots in past but no human companions were around. Survivors who fled West Virginia during a Scorched outbreak earlier are now making their return to Appalachia.

One of the most prominent aspects of Fallout franchise like human NPCs are coming back in two major factions; Raiders and Settlers. You start from being a total stranger to them and will eventually become a close confidante over time.

Working through a reputation system, you can make some new friends and earn some rewards. Since both groups don't really know you at all, they can't just trust anyone right away and you have to earn your keep among them as a newcomer.

Try changing their views on you by completing quests, offering information and take down enemies to become a good neighbor. If you came to be as reliable by your actions, your reputation will surely grow with these parties.

Players can rank their way up to seven levels from Hostile or Cautious, to Neutral, Friendly, Ally and furthermore. You will receive in-game notification showing your reputation progress with factions each time when you will earn some.

Similarly, one can be on bad side of these factions if they chose to be overtly hostile towards everyone. It would be really interesting to see if groups can be at odds with someone so much that there is no going back building that relationship.

Reputation amounts will vary on size of different activities and usually a story quest will grant you a huge deal in ranks. Completing daily quests and making certain conversation choices earns you smaller sum of boost in reps.

Bethesda never cleared whether players can be at good stand with both groups since they both are two opposed team. Improvement of reps rank with Raiders and Settlers makes more items available for you to purchase from vendors.

New Silent Hill and Fatal Frame Movie Announced by Original Director

Original Silent Hill movie director Christophe Gans will return for new Silent Hill and a Fatal Frame movie.

When director Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Saint Ange) made a live-action adaptation of Silent Hill back in 2006, it got barely noticed by franchise fans, regardless of which a lackluster sequel was made in 2012 anyway.

In a recent interview with French website Allocine, Gans has revealed that he is currently busy working on a film adaption of survival horror game series Fatal Frame AKA Project Zero and returning to direct a new Silent Hill movie as well.

For his latest projects, Gans will be collaborating with executive producer of Resident Evil movies, Victor Hadida. Like his previous film, Gans is very committed to stay faithfully close to source material of these media.

Gans also revealed in his interview that after his stint on first Silent Hill movie, he stepped away from an offer to direct its 2012 sequel, Silent Hill: Revelation, when he realized that producers wanted to make a film like Resident Evil.

Compared to many other video game movies released over years, 2006 version of Silent Hill was better received by critics and fans alike. Gans was successful in recreating a fog-covered town and recurring themes shown in series titles.

Resident Evil Reportedly Redesigned Chris Redfield Again

According to leaks, Capcom has changed appearance of series protagonist Chris Redfield once again for new game.

While majority of Resident Evil survival horror franchise fans are currently waiting to get their hands on Resident Evil 3 Remake just in a few months, rumors on a new installment from developer/publisher Capcom is still flying around.

After breaking a major revelation on Resident Evil 8 and some of its enemy details earlier, reputed leaker AestheticGamer has recently claimed that protagonist Chris Redfield is going through another redesign for next series title.

In a recent discussion on social media regarding alleged change of concept for Resident Evil 8 and werewolves, he has affirmed that Chris has been redesigned again and his new look will be revealed in a new release before that title.

Capcom has invited RE Ambassadors within U.S. region last year to test a brand-new untitled Resident Evil game that many initially thought to be Project Resistance but then it turned out to be a multiplayer mode for RE3 Remake.

During his ongoing conversation, AestheticGamer admits of Chris being redesigned for next RE entry in works.

There is a chance that Chris would show up in that untitled project that is not RE8 and has a rumored release window on 2021. Whatever they end up doing, this will not be the first time for this former S.T.A.R.S. member to get a new look.

Capcom changed appearance of original Resident Evil protagonist Chris Redfield after first RE game for Code: Veronica. Then he became a boulder punching buff guy in Resident Evil 5; a look that is also adapted for franchise animated films.

RELATED: Resident Evil 3 Remake Won't Have Mercenaries Mode and Multiple Endings

Following his stint on Resident Evil 6, he was changed into a normal-sized human when he showed up in Not a Hero DLC of Resident Evil 7. A full character model for this version was also found lately in codes of Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Seeing how many times he has gone through revamp over all these years, it is not unlikely for Capcom to do it again because a lot of things can happen during development to change course and even totally scrap design concepts of a character.

Though these stories are not much believable in most cases, they are hard to ignore when they are from reliable sources. This leaker in question is no random one and has a history of accurately predicting major Resident Evil leaks in past.

Regardless of next series release to be a sequel for RE7: Biohazard or a spin-off game, fans can only be confirmed after an official reveal. Some even says that Capcom may end up announcing a new RE game at PlayStation 5 reveal in February.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Hits 8 Million Sales

Electronic Arts sold around 8 million copies of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since its release back in November 2019.

Despite their lack of faith in single-player games and heavy interest towards live services as a publisher, Electronic Arts has been surprised by amazing success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from developer Respawn Entertainment.

According to a new industry report that came after Q3 earnings call of investors, EA revealed that Jedi: Fallen Order has sold nearly eight million copies in last quarter of 2019, which is far beyond than what they originally expected.

Blake Jorgensen, chief financial officer of EA states that they had a set expectation of selling 6 to 8 million copies by fiscal year, on March 31. By December 2019, 8 million units were sold and now they are raising that estimate to 10 million.

Jorgensen has admitted that this unforeseen success has been a direct result of a single-player action game. Chief executive Andrew Wilson adds that fans were looking forward to an experience like Fallen Order for holiday season.

He credited Respawn for delivering a high quality experience and a gameplay mechanics that everyone loved. Last year, they released free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends that instantly rose to popularity and now on its third season.

EA executives are also very much eager to keep pushing continued triumph of FIFA and Madden series. Two of their most recent releases; Need for Speed: Heat and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville was mentioned as well.

Following an infamous loot box controversy of Star Wars Battlefront II release back in 2017, EA has learned from their mistake and constantly rolled out post-launch content to support player community of the game for past two years.

Most recently, they launched Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition and have reportedly done pretty well above anticipation. Though performance of multiplayer sc-fi action RPG title Anthem was disappointing, Apex Legends has covered that up.

Jorgensen reveals that EA plans on releasing a total of 12 games for next fiscal year, including four sports titles such as FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21, four projects from small studios and another four based on their established IP.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the most-beloved Star Wars games in recent history and Electronic Arts would likely to meet a newly projected sales limit of ten million easily by end of current fiscal quarter in March 31, 2020.

The Outer Worlds Nintendo Switch Release Date

Obsidian has finally revealed a release date for Nintendo Switch version of sci-fi RPG title The Outer Worlds.

Even before 2019 sci-fi action role-playing game The Outer Worlds could launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a Nintendo Switch version was confirmed by developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Private Division.

Original announcement for a port for Switch console of the game came from senior producer Matthew Singh of Obsidian by end of July last year and now an official date set for launch is revealed to be on March 6, 2020.

Upon release, TOW will become available on Nintendo eShop for digital download priced $59.99 only. Simultaneously, a physical version will also arrive on retail stores with a download code inside its box and no game cartridge.

This is a huge bummer for collectors who simply don't want to buy an empty case without a game card, which essentially means that many Switch owners would have to purchase an extra SD card after paying its full price already.

The Outer Worlds base game has a file size of nearly 20 GB on PS4 console and Private Division could have easily ported that on Switch if they wanted to. Even for downloading TOW from eShop and play, players would still require a cartridge.

Bethesda pulled such a trick with physical release of their latest co-op shooter title Wolfenstein: Youngblood. However, CD Projekt Red has fitted The Witcher 3 main game and all post-launch DLCs into a single SD card for a Switch release.
