Ben Schwartz for Sonic the Hedgehog Film Confirmed

Ben Schwartz of Parks and Recreation has been finalized to voice the main character in Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Fans of Sega's most popular franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog were jumping with joy when they learned that Paramount Pictures have taken initiative of adapting a live-action animated film based on the blue anthropomorphic protagonist. After actor/comedian Jim Carrey (Bruce Almighty, Me, Myself & Irene) has been finalized to play evil Doctor Robotnik for the movie, actor Ben Schwartz (House of Lies, Parks and Recreation) have announced to be cast in titular role today.

In the movie, Sonic will go up against Jim Carrey's character is also known as Doctor Eggman, a mad scientist who has taken some animals captive and stole Chaos Emeralds for his evil plan. Ben has prior experience of voicing popular cartoon characters in the past and currently occupied with providing his voice for Dewey Duck on 2017’s DuckTales reboot from Disney XD channel and Leonardo for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series from Nickelodeon.

The actor took Twitter to express his boundless excitement to publicly announce this news to social media.

Alongside other cast members like James Marsden (Walk of Shame, X-Men) and Tika Sumpter (Ride Along, Salt) in their own respective roles, Schwartz is cast to voice the lead character of Sonic and he is more than ready to take on as the speedster hedgehog. Currently, the film is scheduled to debut on November 15, 2019 and Jeff Fowler (Gopher Broke, Where the Wild Things Are) will be directing the movie.
