Modern Warfare 2 Remastered May Be Coming Soon

South Korean ratings board site has recently rated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.

Almost year ago, a listing of 2009 first-person shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered for PlayStation 4 console popped up at Pan European Game Information (PEGI) website, which was removed shortly.

According to a recent leak from South Korean ratings board site of Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC), a listing for "Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered" has been sighted being rated on February 26, 2020.

From given title, it appears that only single-player campaign will be included and not its multiplayer component. Although no launch platforms or release window are revealed so far, an official announcement may come out any time.

MW2 listing is for a standalone release by publisher Activision rather than a bundle with another Call of Duty game, which is probably due to past backlash for bundling two games into one package and forcing fans to pay extra.

This crazy rumor mill for Modern Warfare 2 Remastered started on 2018 through an Amazon listing that seemingly hinted at its development, which was followed up by a PEGI leak a year later and that record was removed pretty quickly.

Upon delivering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered back in 2017, a likely move for Activision/Blizzard would be to give its sequel a similar treatment and whether or not they intend to do that is not officially confirmed yet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 became pretty infamous on release due to its controversial "No Russian" mission, where player character and CIA agent Joseph Allen takes part in a mass shooting to gain trust of a Russian terrorist group.

This level has sparked major argument within gaming community over whether there is a need for this mission at all. Due to nature of its disturbing content, MW2 was heavily censored and "No Russian" was removed from Russian versions.
