Kena: Bridge of Spirits Reveals PS5 DualSense Features, Plans for DLC

Due to ongoing global situation of COVID-19 pandemic, upcoming action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits was announced to be delayed until Q1 2021 by developer/publisher Ember Lab in an official statement during mid-September.

Official PlayStation Magazine UK recently taken an interview of Kena co-creators Josh and Mike Grier as they offered insight about the game, revealed details of DualSense controller features and possibility of any additional post-launch DLC.

OPM UK sits down with Grier brothers to talk about how Ember Lab will take full advantage of PlayStation 5 technology. They discussed what experience players can expect from DualSense functionality for their highly-anticipated title.

Bridge of Spirits incorporates PS5 controller's adaptive trigger and haptic feedback into various aspects of gameplay mechanics. Players will feel haptics while using Kena's abilities and shield, a little tension on the trigger to draw a bow.

Mike Grier shares some insight on PlayStation Magazine UK about DualSense's haptic feedback and more.

We use haptics on all of Kena's abilities and shield, and at the moment we use the adaptive triggers when using the bow. You have a little bit of resistance on the right trigger that tightens as you full draw. When you do have the string fully drawn the bow has more power and more accuracy and you'll feel that tension in the trigger as you pull back. There are some fun mini-games too; these train you up to use the bow.

At a later point of the interview, Josh also shed light on any chance of potential DLC in one of his replies.

Yeah, there're definitely opportunities for additional spirits that we couldn't get into this game that would have additional loops you could go on to open up in the game.

Official PlayStation Magazine UK asked if there is a likelihood of getting extra content and Josh Grier responded positively, stating that there certainly are enough rooms to expand the game in near future of releasing post-launch DLC.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set to arrive early next year for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Originally showcased at PS5 reveal event back in June, Bridge of Spirits was initially slated to release this holiday season.
