Resident Evil 9 Reportedly in Works Since 2018

With launch of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard back in 2017, developer/publisher Capcom introduced some major changes to long-running survival horror franchise by going back to series roots and switch to a first-person view for first time.

Reputed industry insider AestheticGamer recently states that though Capcom is currently busy promoting upcoming release of Resident Evil: Village, they have reportedly been working on its sequel title Resident Evil 9 since late 2018.

According to known leaker AestheticGamer AKA Dusk Golem, a number of Resident Evil games including Resident Evil 2, 3, 4 Remake, Outrage, Resident Evil: Village and Resident Evil 9 were in development at Capcom during late 2018.

He also noted and pointed out for enthusiastic series fans that RE9 may not be ready to arrive anytime before 2024. Besides, there are high chances of RE: Village sequel to go though drastic changes or probably even reboot of concepts.

In a number of reply on Twitter, industry insider Dusk Golem shared development details of Resident Evil 9.

Capcom has yet to officially announce Resident Evil 4 Remake, Outrage and Resident Evil 9 to confirm validity of his claims. Following a huge data breach, RE4 and Outrage was leaked online but a ninth mainline entry is a rumor at best.

Among leaked list of games, one particular name "Biohazard Apocalypse" may be a very strong indication for Resident Evil 9 as Capcom has been branding newest installment of their popular horror media since release of Resident Evil 7.
