Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Remaster Rumor Denied by Activision

According to a leak from months ago, a campaign remaster for 2011 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision is launching this year, exclusively for PlayStation consoles.

Though some fans were hoping to get a reveal on eve of 10th anniversary of MW3 while hyping up on social media platforms, Activision released an official statement denying any existence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Remaster.

A latest statement sent to CharlieIntel by an official spokesperson for Activision fully denies any rumor of a remaster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 being in works recently despite a bunch of newly surfaced reports on social media.

Modern Warfare trilogy has been heavily influential in redefining Call of Duty franchise and fans received a remaster of first two entries. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare only had a remaster of its story campaign but still was a big success.

Reaching out for confirmation on Modern Warfare 3 Remaster rumor, CharlieIntel has received following statement.

A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect.

Given how welcoming fans were for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2 remasters, Activision not planning to develop campaign or multiplayer remaster of Modern Warfare 3 surely doesn't make a lot of sense and is quite surprising.

Activision is yet to reveal their next Call of Duty game, rumoredly titled "WW2 Vanguard" that is set to release later this year. Like most recent entries, it will be fully integrated with free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone.
