We Happy Few is Delayed Again

Previously planned to release on April 13, Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing have pushed back We Happy Few to summer of 2018.

A psychedelic horror game from indie developer studio Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing, We Happy Few will take you to a mid-60's English town, Wellington Wells for a survival experience of a hallucinogenic drug known as "Joy". Previously, the game had an initial release date set for April 13, 2018 to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide. However, if you were looking forward to get into that adventure city, you will have to wait a bit longer than you have expected before, according to the developers.

The high hopes of entering in an alternate reality jolly old England of the 1960's through the game We Happy Few is once again delayed and the developers got good reason for that. So far, they are already done completing all the content they intended for this game but after some observation, they realized that the title could use some more work to be better than it is now and for that to happen, they will need some more time to give it some polish and it will delay the project.

All Compulsion Games wants to do is to change and rebuild the first few hours of We Happy Few to give it their desired look and that pushes the game to summer of 2018. The game featured three different campaigns to play with and one of them needs some more work, which is the protagonist Arthur’s story. So, the dev team is pausing and getting back to it again to give meanings to his narrative. The end of the video also reveals another main character of the game, Sally and there is still one more to reveal.

Beginning with a Kickstarter campaign, We Happy Few successfully entered Early Access on Steam and for Xbox One with favorable response. The game already left a bad impression to the eagerly anticipating players when it was priced for $60 for being a "full sized, retail game". Developers are currently offering a refund opportunity for anyone who already purchased the game on Early Access and they will remove the game from Steam on February 1 until a later day near release.
