Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Extended Gameplay Demo

Respawn reveals an extended version of E3 2019 gameplay demo video for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Though first gameplay footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been revealed earlier at E3 2019 event, developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts actually showed an extended cut to press behind closed doors.

Now that E3 press conference is finally wrapped up, Respawn decides to showcase that lengthy segment of Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay walkthrough to public with a 26-minute long video to offer a more in-depth look at challenges and combat system.

Ride along with lone Jedi Cal Kestis in this newly released Fallen Order gameplay video in his war against Galactic Empire.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Revealed

Instead of starting his journey by meeting with rebel extremist Saw Gerrera (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), we see protagonist Cal Kestis emerging from a swamp-like location of Kashyyyk after his buddy droid BD-1 sweeps their surrounding for trouble.

He manages to climb his way up on top of an AT-AT walker and after its Stormtrooper guard is blown out, he gets into the combat vehicle. Inside he peeps on a few guards that he dispatched shortly using The Force and his lightsaber.

RELATED: Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Will Be Revealed at EA Play and E3

He sneaks into main cockpit and took control after knocking the pilots unconscious and then we see some vehicle combat mechanics in action. Cal then blasts off another AT-AT by surprise and rain on heavy fire on nearby Imperial establishment.

He eventually met Saw Gerrera after his vehicle crashes and a cut-scene starts where they exchange about why they are on Kashyyyk. Cal came looking for Wookiee general Tarfful and Saw is here to disrupt supply runs of The Empire.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Demo

Soon, his mentor Cere Junda and companion Greez Dritus joins them but Saw is skeptical about his claim of being a Jedi. However, they proceed on how to rescue a group of slave Wookiees from that Imperial refinery and campaign is resumed.

Looking for a power source, he came across a giant spider-like creature and a couple of Flame Beetles that was been dealt with. It was from here when we step into E3 2019 demo footage and rest of it just continues as shown earlier.

Gears 5 Won't Have Season Pass

Coalition will not feature loot boxes or a Season Pass for their upcoming cover-based shooter game Gears 5.

Following a spectacular show at E3 2019 press conference, developer studio The Coalition and publisher Xbox Game Studios announced that upcoming third-person shooter game Gears 5 will be launching on September 10, 2019.

Apparently, they have more plans to bring change to business model of this highly anticipated title from Gears of War franchise and one of their recent statement revealed that Coalition is getting rid of all Gear Packs and Season Passes.

In an attempt to focus on player experience, developers are making all DLC maps free and you can always earn some exclusive customization items. Escape and Versus mode will not only give you direct rewards but leaderboard placements as well.

By playing Tour of Duty, you earn character skins and other stuff to customize for completing daily challenges and rank up with seasonal medals. Nothing is pay-only and every piece of content out there is earnable through gameplay.

RELATED: Xbox Game Pass to Add Resident Evil: Revelations and More

Spending more time in multiplayer mode will increase rate of supply drops and your chance to get more random content. On picking a duplicate card, it will turn into scrap that can be used to upgrade character skills or crafting items.

Although purchasing supply drop content with real-world money is not an option, you can always buy in-game currency Iron to get exclusive customization from store but none of these will provide any competitive advantage or whatsoever.

RELATED: Xbox Backwards Compatibility Final Lineup Revealed

There is no randomness on your store purchases like Gear Packs and you get exactly what you see. However, buying Boost can accelerate progression like increased rate of XP gain and more frequent supply drops for a limited period.

By doing away with loot boxes and Season Passes, Gears 5 is really heading into a new direction. This cover-based shooter will be available on PC and Xbox One via Xbox Play Anywhere while also featuring cross-play within Microsoft platforms.

Not only did they show footage of Keanu Reeves' in-game character Johnny Silverhand but some level design elements were highlighted. Plus, audience was able to have some hands-off experience with combat mechanics and variety of options.

Cyberpunk 2077 marks to be one of the highly anticipated games from CD Projekt Red that is loosely based on Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game by creator Mike Pondsmith and set to arrive on 16 April, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

One of them were wielding a flamethrower until Karl blew it up and handing it over to his fellow fighters to make use of. When a small pack tries to flank him, one got electrocuted before blowing up and others got a few shots to their heads.

Together, four of them gather outside to form a last stand against a wave of dead militia. Apparently, Zombie Hitler has somehow managed to return from the depths of hell and now he is leading an army of dead once again.

Aside from Fairburne himself, other three new members are probably newest recruit of Survivor Brigade. Clue from trailer also suggests that players would be using a variety of weapons other than sniper rifles and X-Ray Kill Cam returns as well.

Dead War will feature a story campaign set within maps of Southern Europe for up to four players and anyone can drop-in at any point. Gameplay progression will let players unlock new set of skills, special attacks and even weapon upgrades.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is planned to head for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms by next year. PC versions will be distributed exclusively via digital outlet of Epic Games Store and will be available on Steam after a year of its release.

Shenmue 3 Epic Store Exclusivity Creates Kickstarter Controversy

After Shenmue III has been announced as Epic Games Store exclusive for PC, backers are now even denied refunds on Kickstarter.

At E3 2019 event, renowned Sega developer and Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki took stage during PC Gaming Show 2019 to showoff brand-new gameplay trailer for Shenmue III and reveal that PC version will be an Epic Games Store-exclusive.

Now whether or not they decided to make it a timed exclusive is not clear yet but many backers are very upset over this decision of shifting platform since it was originally planned for a Steam release and are already asking for a refund.

Right after their announcement at E3, development team has updated their Kickstarter page with new information to declare Epic Store exclusivity. What they explained as reason for their recent decision of changing outlet is given below.

We are happy to announce that Shenmue III for PC will be an Epic Games Store exclusive. Development for Shenmue III has been moving forward using Unreal Engine and the support we have received from Epic has been excellent. But most importantly, in looking for the most enjoyable experience on PC, it was decided together with Deep Silver after much discussion that the Epic Games Store would be the best distribution platform option.

Apparently, it was publisher Deep Silver that pushed for Shenmue III exclusivity and their official statement of most enjoyable experience on PC being on EGS clearly shows how detached they are from players these days.

When they removed Metro Exodus from Steam earlier before launch to make it a timed exclusive at Epic Store, fans were enraged. They started review-bombing to plummet its overall score, which then took Steam to intervene and stop them.

Official Kickstarter page of Ys Net is flooded with angry response from fans seeking either an explanation or their money back. Some pointed out that it was mentioned in early phase of campaign that they are to provide Steam keys for PC platform.

Even those who would purchase a physical copy would only have a box with a code in it that still need to be activated via Epic Store. Charging a $59.99 amount for a box that doesn't even come with a disc seems like a scheme to get some extra money.

After Yu Suzuki launched the Kickstarter project looking for $2 million in funding back in 2015, it has been backed by nearly 70,000 people and raised over $6 million in a month, only so they can screw over players on PC four years later.

When you thought Epic Store exclusivity was the worst thing to happen to the game, Ys Net has denied granting any refunds for making this change, therefore leaving PC players with no option to either get their hard-earned money or preferred platform.

Epic Games are definitely favoring developers by taking only 12% cut from sales rather than 30% and started a trend for exclusive games to incite competition but that is also leading studios into taking such controversial decisions.

A few months ago, Epic Games Store has bagged crowdfunded project Phoenix Point out of nowhere that was originally promised to launch on Steam but in that case, developers were generous enough to offer a refund to its backers at least.

Denying request for refund was perhaps the most anti-consumer act from their part and maybe even led to some legal action, because ripping off people for their money with false pledges like this need some serious consequence enforced by law.

What happened as a result will now have people to be more suspicious before crowdfunding any project on Kickstarter. There is currently a Steam page for the game though but that is probably because they forgot to remove it.

Epic may have given a hefty amount to Deep Silver and Ys Net for a store exclusivity deal like they did with Snapshot Games for having Phoenix Point. However, they should have considered how it would ruin reputation for both companies.

After years of development and a couple of delays, Shenmue III is finally all set to arrive on November 19 for PC and PlayStation 4. Only if they have kept promise of delivering Steam keys to backers, there would probably be a little less backlash.

Elden Ring Announced

Created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, fantasy action RPG game Elden Ring is announced by From Software at E3 2019.

Long after a rumor of an epic collaboration between Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin spread out, their upcoming project Elden Ring has finally been announced at Xbox E3 2019 briefing.

This much hyped action role-playing game by developer From Software is seemingly to become a spiritual successor to Dark Souls. Recently, a brand-new trailer launches portraying similar dark and ominous tones of their past games.

A cinematic teaser of a very mysterious plotline for the game only gives away shade of another fantasy saga.

The trailer opens up showing an unknown figure who is presumably a divine blacksmith of some sort and repeatedly hitting a shiny object with a hammer like tool. With each impact, his body is cracked a little more and he collapses after a final blow.

A person wearing a crown holds up a severed arm of another by partially wearing it and six creepy looking hands approaches from darkness. They slowly proceed to uplift the bearer to light when the severed arm suddenly moves.

A red-haired female warrior prepares for an oncoming battle by attaching a prosthetic arm. We then see a knight in armor swiftly stabs a hulking enemy with a spear, which led to sky turning fiery red and the defeated opponent set ablaze in flames.

While these events all run in parallel, legend of Elden Ring is described by an unseen narrator as an artifact of unimaginable power that could command stars and beyond but now, someone or something has unleashed an unthinkable disaster by breaking it.

Early leaks and rumors had it that creators have taken some inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology during its build up. Players are supposed to roam from different kingdoms to take out their ruler in quest of acquiring their power.

Opening shots of a cut off arm could be some form of ritual and a battle scene with red sky may be from aspects of confronting those monarch figures. Although confirmed to be an open-world game, there would be significant focus on RPG elements.

Expressing his excitement of working with creator of Dark Souls and From Software studio, George R.R. Martin stated the following.

Building the world of Elden Ring with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience. I can't wait for people to see what Elden Ring has in store for them.

RELATED: Doom Eternal Release Date

Hidetaka Miyazaki will be serving as game director and he revealed that development for the game started as soon as they were done with DLC expansions for Dark Souls III, meaning development is ongoing for past two years.

Elden Ring is currently set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms and though no official release date has been confirmed by developer From Software or publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment just yet, it may arrive sometime in early 2020.
