Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake May Not Release Before 2023

Ubisoft has delayed Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake multiple times and now moves its release window to fiscal year 2023.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake May Not Release Before 2023

In face of immense criticism by fans, developer/publisher Ubisoft had to push back releasing a remake of 2003 action-adventure game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on original 2021 launch window.

The Sands of Time Remake has recently been moved to Ubisoft Montréal after being delayed a few times since its 2020 announcement. Ubisoft has reportedly postponed its development for now and it may be released on 2023 fiscal year.

When many retailers like GameStop and others started delisting pre-orders for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, it was revealed by Ubisoft that the project is still in development but it may not arrive until fiscal year 2023 or beyond.

Fans shouldn't expect Sands of Time Remake to release before June 30, 2023, when fiscal year 2023 eventually ends. After it moved to Ubisoft Montréal, they are no longer aiming for a FY23 release and the game was delisted from stores.

After being revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2020, fans criticized Sands of Time Remake for its look but Ubisoft defended their creative choice. It was developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune for years before heading over to Ubisoft Montréal.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake may not launch anytime soon but insider report claims that a second Prince of Persia game inspired by Ori and the Blind Forest is currently in works at Ubisoft Montpellier and may be revealed soon.
