Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct November 2018

The final Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveals a classic Street Fighter and a Pokemon character added to roster.

For the most ambitious crossover fighting game in video game history ever, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has assembled every fighter in series and more. Bandai Namco and Nintendo will bring this mega-action blockbuster on December 7 for Nintendo Switch.

In the latest reveal of the game, the final roster for the game is unveiled by director Masahiro Sakurai. Months ago, he promised that players will have a look at every character included in this title and now there are a total of 74.

Only a while ago, we knew that Sakurai is going to host the 40-minute long video released today to reveal the remaining characters and more details on the game.

Final Two Characters
A cinematic opens up in a grand fighting arena where Little Mac from Nintendo's Punch-Out series has been punching his opponent to a corner and suddenly gets hit back in the face. His rival is then revealed to be Ken Masters from Street Fighter series.

Turning up the heat of the fight, Ken releases a Hadoken that Lil' Mac barely escapes and from behind the audience a pair of glowing eyes silently observes. He ends the fight with one of his finishing moves, sending his adversary off the ring.

The individual from the shadows now heads towards the ring and leaps from above to land directly on Ken but he moves at the last moment. The challenger with his fiery wrath is now revealed to be Incineroar from the Pokémon franchise.

Avoiding a few moves thrown at him, Incineroar hurls Ken on the ring ropes and throws him in the air to perform a series of wrestling moves on him (much like the ones fellow Street Fighter Zangief would use) before finishing the match by sending Ken flying off.

Joining as an Echo Fighter, Ken is adapted for Ultimate based on the version of his character from Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Despite being fairly similar to Ryu, he appears to be faster in the game and deals damage in varied form than his counterpart.

Ken also has a different shaped Hadoken, tatsumaki senpuukyaku hurricane kick delivers more hits and his fiery heavy shoryuken uppercut can burn his challengers. The spinning Shinryuken and Shippu Jinraikyaku are among two of his final smash attacks.

Hailing from Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games and the final evolution stage of Litten, Incineroar brings a bunch of pro-wrestling moves for SSBU. This buff cat-wrestler has debuted at number 74, also the last drafted to the brawl.

A creature of fire-based attacks, he specializes in carry out lariats and different suplexes on his rivals in a fight to crush them good. Besides, fire-type Pokémons are known to beat the living crap out of other from their race and he is here to throw his powerful punches.

Few of the long-running norms and rules are changed for SSBU as offering stage selection before choosing your players. Also, several characters that appear as Echo Fighters are not just simple re-skin of another character but their attack damage or speed features are slightly tweaked to make them stand out.

To get your hands on the Ultimate Special Edition at launch that comes in steelbook case, just place your pre-order for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before December 6. It also comes with a stylish Super Smash Bros. themed Switch Pro controller.

Spirits Mode
You should also know that within the world of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, many characters have become "spirits" upon losing their forms and they will assist the players in fight. There is a huge list of them that you can assign as primary and support spirits.

These spirits will power up the fighters during a match or provide abilities like speed or strength. Mix matching them in certain way to compatible character would earn them extra perks to win a fight against selected opponents.

Another bit of news from today's Nintendo Direct that knocked everyone's socks off is the addition of the iconic common enemy Piranha Plant from the Super Mario Bros. platformer games as a playable fighter that will be rewarded as an early purchase bonus.

It is all mouth and teeth mostly lurking beneath warp pipes, will be available on February 2019 for free to those who would pre-order the digital version of the game or just register game card to their Switch devices before January 31, 2019.

Apparently, there will be five more characters developed as post-launched DLC content containing a unique playable fighter (not an Echo) with their own stages and themed background music, each set will be available for only $5.99.

These yet-to-be-announced DLC packs can also be yours when they are released if you simply purchase the Fighters Pass for $24.99 only. Additionally, placing the pre-order for digital version of Ultimate added with a Fighters Pass from Nintendo eShop within December 6 gets you 425 bonus Gold Points.

New Amiibo
As announced previously, every fighter from Ultimate will have their own amiibo figures and that includes the one from DLC as well. Recently revealed Ken, Incineroar and Piranha Plant are no different from the treatment while some of them are coming shortly.

Alongside the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Inkling, Ridley and Wolf amiibo figures will come out on December 7. By February 15, 2019, players can get their hands on King K. Rool, Ice Climbers and Piranha Plant. Later at some point the same year Isabelle, Pichu, Ken, Young Link will eventually release too.

Story Mode | World of Light

Titled World of Light, the trailer opens up with every character from the game has gathered to collectively face a threat that turns out to be a beam of light which disintegrates everyone's physical form and transformed them into spirits, except Kirby.

Masahiro Sakurai has saved up the story mode of the game for last and boy, what a spectacular blast it was. This new adventure is unlike any other you have seen in the entire franchise so far and delivered an intense twist by revealing at the end.

RELATED: Onimusha: Warlords Re-Release Announced

Although, the ever-expanding roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate made many players' dream come true but also some may have expected a much bigger surprise at the end rather than Ken as an echo fighter and newly added Incineroar.

The most saddened part with many was the exclusion of poor Waluigi, who will not even be in Assist Trophy segment. After the characters' utter humiliation at the E3 2018 trailer of the game, Waluigi fans were still rooting for him.

When Sakurai went on saying, "That’s all the fighters you’ll find in the game", he literally hit the last nail in the coffin. With that, any hopes of him popping out as a surprise reveal is gone. Perhaps, we can see him in DLC in future? Maybe!?

The way previous Nintendo Direct has featured so many characters in the beginning, some of us honestly thought, we are getting introduced to more of them but since Ultimate always aimed for bringing back the existing stars of the franchise, they really weren't interested to draft in new fighters.

Soulcalibur 6 Adds 2B from NieR: Automata

The combat android 2B from action RPG NieR: Automata will be joining the fight in Soulcalibur VI very soon.

Even though weapon-based fighting game franchise Soulcalibur has pioneered many other titles to step into the ring, it heavily struggled to stay popular and relevant over time and Soulcalibur VI is trying to bring it back on track by as a reboot to the series.

The game was already in talks for featuring a huge guest appearance of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and now Bandai Namco Entertainment is planning to bring the android heroine of NieR: Automata, 2B as their next guest fighter.

YoRHa No. 2 Type B will be added to the roster as the second guest character while wielding her signature dual blades. You can already see many of her fighting styles originated from the action role-playing game of Square Enix are adapted into it.

Additionally, she will have a custom costume inspired from NieR's Kaine, a brand-new themed stage, award-winning background music from the original game, spear weapon, extra parts and stickers as shown in the gameplay trailer above.

RELATED: Classic Goku and Vegeta Comes to Dragon Ball FighterZ

Since 2B was created to fight against an army of hostile robots that invaded the planet, her fighting capabilities and skills are unquestionable. Aside from acrobatic prowess, she is profound in melee attacks and she intends to continue fighting as long as she can for the glory of mankind.

During combat, 2B will be assisted by her robot companion Pod 042 to perform long distance attacks on her opponents. She is introduced in the game as a complete package because of her unmatched fighting abilities and for a great crossover value.

Although when 2B will join the cult classic series is yet not confirmed, we know that it would be through a downloadable content included in the Season Pass priced $29.99 only. However, buying the Soulcalibur VI Deluxe Edition for only $89.99 automatically adds her with two other playable characters when they are released.

One of the returning fighters from the series, Tira will join 2B when the season pass finally launches in an undisclosed date in near future. Maybe we get to see Bandai Namco include Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII or Kratos from God of War next.

Dark Souls 3 Mod Forces of Annihilation Out Now

Forces of Annihilation Mod for Dark Souls 3 let you stomp the Kingdom of Lothric as the game's fiercest enemies.

Ever wondered how fun experience it would be to play as the boss characters in notoriously tough action role-playing game Dark Souls III of developer From Software? Well, you can just stop wondering about that and simply check out the new Dark Souls 3 Forces of Annihilation Mod by team Datahacks. Currently available on Nexusmods, this free to download mod allows players to assume the role of dreaded boss characters or other enemies from the game they have faced before.

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered Announced

To give you the idea of how it is played out, we have a short demo of the Forces of Annihilation and this is brilliantly amazing. Enjoy!

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

The demo features one of the Lords of Cinder bosses, Yhorm the Giant and shows how tables are turned when he is controlled by a player instead of AI. We see him get up from the large throne room to go outside laying waste to the Jailer Handmaids and fire-breathing Gargoyles with minimum effort. There is a sense of satisfaction playing as Yhorm because, whereas you had to strategize your moves to deal damage to him, you can just swing his gigantic machete at your disposal.

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered is Discounted for PC

Yhorm quickly moves towards another passage, dealing with more Handmaids by unleashing the fury of his blade. Away from the halls, he heads over to the bridge and slays another Gargoyle with ease. Having an extended health bar for playing a boss character is satisfying and watching him weirdly climbing up a ladder was really funny. What is noticeable here is that a great deal of his speed has been traded for brute strength and these were of course by the original design of the character.

Step by step the developers are adding more enemies to the fold and updating the mod as all of them are not yet available.

Dark Souls: Remastered Nintendo Switch Release Date

Undead fans rejoice as long-awaited Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls: Remastered finally gets a release date.

Fans had been petitioning to get a remastered version of action role-playing original Dark Souls from developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco for longer than you think. They even got that wish fulfilled as Dark Souls: Remastered is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch version was left out and delayed to summer 2018 by the publisher to an unspecified release date. Today, that day is announced on Twitter to be October 19, 2018.

Now the previously planned Solaire of Astora Amiibo will release alongside it for you to unlock "Praise the Sun" in-game gesture with it. Those who were eager to explore Lordran in their next gen Nintendo handheld console on the go can now finally look forward to this because Artorias of the Abyss DLC is also included in the package.

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

Apparently, Bandai Namco is also interested in holding a network test online for the Switch version before it launches but we don't have much detail on the fact just yet. Dark Souls: Remastered will run on Switch at 30 FPS and 1080p resolution if played on a TV set. The improved rates in better resolution let you enjoy the creepy vibe of the series more intensely. Although there are accusations of the game being extremely difficult, it yet leaves a long-lasting memorable impression on your mind.

Nintendo Direct Confirms New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters

Today's Nintendo Direct reveals Super Smash Bros. Ultimate adds classic Vampire hunters and a Donkey Kong villain.

Latest in the line of all-star crossover fighting game series from developer Bandai Namco and publisher Nintendo reveals more new and exciting characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster in a recent Nintendo Direct.

Almost half an hour long, this presentation has a number of cinematic trailers to make dramatic debut of new characters and director Masahiro Sakurai talks about other information about the game as if fans were not already hyped enough for its release on December 7 for Nintendo Switch.

The first cinematic opens up with a shrouded person enters the fortress while it was raining outside and Mario's long-time companion Luigi wandering around inside Castle Dracula. He is chased by mummies, snakes and finally is faced by Death itself.

The scythe is swung and his soul leaves the body just before a whip chain hits Death on the face, revealing the attacker to be legendary vampire hunter Simon Belmont from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. However, by then it was too late for our little friend.

Shortly afterwards, when he was facing off against immortal vampire Dracula Vlad Tepes, the lord of the undead unleashed a fiery attack and Simon was about to get it, another valiant warrior arriving straight out of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night steps in.

Richter Belmont is the second recruit from Castlevania series, carrying the same legacy of his ancestor. Both has been in vampire hunting business and now has crossed over to take part in the biggest brawl fest of history.

Simon mostly relies on his iconic whip aside from his signature axe, cross, holy water and good-old fist. Although his weapon is slow when it comes to use it in a fight and leaves him vulnerable for attack, it does have an extended range than any other weapon from any character.

His earlier design has been polished and has gone through a little makeover. Except from animation, looks and voice, Simon and Ritcher has identical move sets, making the latter as an echo fighter of the former.

To be honest, he appears to be more funny than scary on any level and throwing of his crown to opponents are a clear example of that. His polished design lets him fit perfectly along with other combatants now.

These new fighters are bringing along new stages themed on their own image from respective franchises. In terms of answering whether or not Echo Fighters are getting their own slots, it actually depends on your likings.

Current addition of brawlers makes it clear that Nintendo and Sakurai has been listening to fan pledges for months and hopefully, some more fan-favorites will pop out for this Nintendo Switch-exclusive.

Classic Goku and Vegeta Comes to Dragon Ball FighterZ

Long after the game's release, Dragon Ball FighterZ is adding base Goku and Vegeta to their roster of playable characters.

Already including two different versions of them in Arc System Works and Bandai Namco's acclaimed 2.5D fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ, classic version of Goku and Vegeta is finally being added to the roster as playable characters. We also are aware that after winning both critics and audiences over all major platforms, now the game is coming to Nintendo Switch in September 28, 2018 and it was announced by Nintendo during E3 2018 press conference last month.

Previously added versions of both Goku and Vegeta were anything but their base characters, which are going to be fixed through a premium downloadable content pass on next month. DBF already has a wonderful rendition of each character from the franchise and it was nice to see designs for these heroes are still faithful to the anime. Vegeta still retains his brown tail wrapped around him like all Saiyans and it's good to see on him because it is later chopped off in the series.

We are not sure if the main protagonists are bringing some throwback origin stories along with them but Vegeta's early design subtly suggests something like that. However, somewhere along the line it seems a bit weird that two of the main protagonists from original anime series the game is based on are added to its roster through DLC long after launching the title. The DLC pass is currently available for $34.99 only and features six new characters, including Broly, Bardock and two of the above mentioned ones.

Dark Souls: Remastered is Discounted for PC

Those who already own Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition from Steam will get 50% off on Dark Souls Remastered.

Following an announcement in January, we know now that publisher Bandai Namco will release a Remastered version of From Software's original Dark Souls as Dark Souls: Remastered for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Back then, there was also an argument over whether or not fans who already own a copy on PC and the responses came from publisher's spokesperson seemed more confusing and contradicting than our own guesses. Finally, it has come to an end.

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered Announced

Initially after announcement a few months back, we came to know from Bandai Namco that the game will be available on all platforms for a same price and there will be no discount. They came clean by stating that rumor of a discount came from an error on their e-commerce site, which has since been removed. Later, another post on Steam forums by new community manager for Bandai Namco neither denies nor confirms what to expect on the discounted price topic at all.

RELATED: Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

Finally we can come clear on this to end all conflict of information by declaring that if you already have owned Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on Steam then you would get a 50% discount on Dark Souls: Remastered after it is launched. The remastered version is originally priced $39.99, so at half-price, it's like you are getting an upgrade for the game on PC. However, the "Prepare To Die" edition that came with added DLC along with the main game will be removed from Valve's store within May 9.

RELATED: Wolfenstein II Nintendo Switch Release Date

Many players will still be complaining even after the price reduction because a remastered edition is nothing much but mostly a graphically enhanced version and we really cannot argue on that point as it is true. Besides, none of the developer or publisher has revealed anything about including new features or so. There is no scope of price cut for any console owners as this title was not released on any other platforms than PC. We just hope that the game fares better in providing experience than various PC mods out there.

Dark Souls is considered as one of the best action role-playing game ever made and there has been request for Remastered edition for quite long and scheduled for May 25 release on all the mentioned consoles above except Switch, which will debut on Nintendo's hybrid platform at a later date. It seems that just like the game itself, the road to Lordran is filled with preemptive trouble before you even engage in fight with demons and wraiths during your in-game quests.

Dark Souls: Remastered on Nintendo Switch Delayed

It was back in January 2018, when we first came to know through Nintendo Direct Mini about a planned Remastered version of From Software’s action role-playing original Dark Souls game on Nintendo Switch that was scheduled for May 25 release. Earlier this month, we have a good look at some exclusive gameplay footage of the game in 4K, courtesy of PlayStation Underground. Unfortunately, it was announced today that Switch version is delayed for summer 2018.

However, planned versions for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are still coming out the same day. Though they have not specified the nature of their causality which caused the delay, we have one very simple theory in mind. It seems that Switch port was being developed by a different team other than the ones who worked for console editions and they have faced some unexpected problem that would take time to solve.

Also, Solaire of Astora from the game was about to get his own amiibo figurine that was supposed to arrive on the same day is also delayed till Switch version’s new release date. Namco assured that they will make it up to you for this delay by improving your gameplay experience as you journey to Lordran. The network test on Nintendo eShop is still due following their initial announcement of this project.

Dark Souls: Remastered was promised to us to deliver enhanced 4K resolution and improved frame rate. It makes us think too that what might possibly happen to a game that showcased a steady gameplay at PAX East, which eventually pushed back their deadline for the time being. If this attempt to remaster project is successful with support from fans then From Software may consider about Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III as well.

Dark Souls: Remastered New Gameplay

A very few games that are tough as nails like From Software’s action role-playing game Dark Souls can garner a fan following that keeps up a petition for a Remastered Edition for this long, which finally is paying off. May 25, 2018 will see the release of Dark Souls: Remastered on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The appeal for the original title hasn't faded a little in past seven years.

Many revelatory action RPG came and go, Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III were released, Sony released PlayStation 4 console but still, we very much needed Dark Souls: Remastered. Bandai Namco seriously deserves some praise to bring back tons of fans' dreams into life by working on it. Fans worldwide are just not waiting for a full remake treatment but need added content and improvements on original title.

As a courtesy of PlayStation Underground, we have exclusive gameplay footage from world of Dark Souls: Remastered in 4K!

The exclusive gameplay showed above is captured in 4k resolution and 60 FPS as a preview of how things are going to be in Remastered Edition.

Getting back at it with protagonist Chosen Undead is like a ride back memory lane exploring open world of Lordran around you as you cautiously take your steps behind a shield. Veteran players had also taken time adjusting to the gameplay at start. If you were a skilled player of your time then figuring out playing part once again with Dark Souls: Remastered will be no problem for you. Your undead adversaries will fall before you as you constantly make progress.

World of Dark Souls

Players who have been through Bloodborne and Dark Souls III know how it is around with a mob on your tail. In comparison to that, original Dark Souls can be pretty quiet and lonely. Well, don't just get depressed just yet. Plenty of booby traps and sudden ambush attacks every now and then will keep things exciting for you. That's right. All the items and enemies are right there for you. So, keep your eyes open to protect your hide from those sneaky undead residents.

A fine aspect is of course the soundtrack, which is out there blending perfectly with the environment yet it's almost non-existent. Your 4K-experience will be intensified if you just put a pair of headphones on. It will make boss killing moment or facing opponents like Black Knights or giant rats as real as it can get. Once you play the game, you will realize that they have done more changes and tweaks than a few visual upgrades.

Another great thing about Dark Souls: Remastered is that now it allows more players to join in. Originally, four-player were allowed to take part in their quest but six-players are accessible for multiplayer. Try imagining six friends who enjoys Dark Souls with somewhat same level of intensity in a same-room because, it is also coming to Switch.

Prepare Not to Die

Aside from playing at a 30 FPS rate and a 720p handheld mode, we believe it has great potential considering an exciting six person multiplayer mode. This could literally give the title an overwhelming reception from Switch owners and led to Remastered Editions of Dark Souls sequels. Although, TV mode offers you a 1080p display, having six television sets on a same room is very unlikely to happen.

Dark Souls was originally released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco back in 2011. It has a notorious reputation for being ruthlessly difficult among fans but the sooner you will get a grip at what is going on and what you want to do, you will pass through pretty easily. Hold onto it and don't just leave the battlefield at first sign of trouble.

These adding of characters from various series of the Dragon Ball universe and the recent addition of Broly actually in FighterZ Pass DLC pack suggests that Namco is very open minded about including characters from movies. Costing you only $34.99, the pack reportedly contains a total of eight players and only two are revealed so far while the others are still to be announced.

Bardock is Goku’s father who died fighting Frieza and his character appeared in many in flashbacks of Dragon Ball Z. In Dragon Ball FighterZ, he has a Super Special Attack called “Revenger Assault” and it transforms him to a Super Saiyan even though it is completely non-canon. Broly on the other hand is an accomplished villain who starred in three of the Dragon Ball films. His powerful energy based attack “Gigantic Meteor” is more than capable to demolish his arch-enemy Goku.
