Rockstar Games Gets Their Own Launcher for PC

Rockstar Games announced their own PC game launcher and offering copy of GTA: San Andreas for free!

Joining trend of having their own Windows desktop application like many AAA- publishers, Rockstar Games have announced their digital games launcher for PC today to make it a one stop access for all your games in a single library.

To celebrate debut of their new client, players will be able to claim a free copy of classic 2004 action-adventure title Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time after successfully installing Rockstar Games launcher for PC platform.

Once you are finished downloading and done with installation process, the launcher will ask to scan your PC for any existing Rockstar title upon login and then add them to client, which will be needed to play those games from now on.

Any saves for your current games would make it to the launcher and you will be linked to Rockstar Social Club account for cloud saves. Automatic updates are also available as a regular feature that you see on any other standard client.

For long, Steam digital distribution storefront from Valve Corporation has served as a primary hub for gamers to have their PC titles at one place before apps like Bethesda.net, Origin of Electronic Arts and Uplay from Ubisoft came along.

Now a days, every major video game publisher are trying to push consumers to their own digital outlets ever since Epic Games Store has come to play and Rockstar Games is just joining that flow without breaking any major mold.

Rockstar Games May Have Teased Bully 2

An Easter egg from Rockstar Games found within latest GTA Online casino update may have teased Bully 2.

When originally launched back in 2006 for PlayStation 2 platform, action-adventure game Bully from developer/publisher Rockstar Games never really was a smash-hit title like some other well-established franchises from the studios.

However, it gained enough fan following in later years that fans are looking forward to a follow-up sequel for some time and a recently discovered hidden message in latest update for Grand Theft Auto Online is clearly hinting at Bully 2.

Last month, Rockstar Games have rolled out a free update for GTA Online titled Diamond Casino & Resort to added extra content to online multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto V and fans have discovered clues for a Bully sequel.

There is a wall piece found within penthouse decoration that says "Canis Canem Edit", which is title of the game's European version. Also, a secret message hidden in morse code was there as well that translates to a phrase "DNA4".

Bully-based content creator YouTuber SWEGTA has found this fan-theory that strongly supports indications of a sequel.

In a first glance, DNA4 actually means nothing at all but if you reduce all letters and numbers that has summed up from the morse code, then the word itself becomes BLY2, which could most likely be Bully 2 if not most definitely.

It may seem like a stretch for Rockstar Games to go through so much just to slide a hidden announcement. Then again, a revolver in Red Dead Redemption 2 also had the same "Canis Canem Edit" reference engraved in it.

Earlier, SWEGTA claimed for Bully 2 to launch on fall 2020 for next generation of PlayStation and Xbox console platforms. Then again, Rockstar doesn't just release their titles one after another and prefers to take time instead.

It took them eight years to work on a sequel for Red Dead Redemption and five years to launch Grand Theft Auto V. Bully has only been out for thirteen years and if Bullworth Academy hasn't been forgotten, a sequel could be on the horizon.

Bully 2 Rumored to Release in Holiday 2020

Rockstar Games rumored to release long-anticipated title Bully 2 for both current and next-gen consoles in 2020.

Though action-adventure game Bully came out more than a decade ago and has been ported to re-release several times for next generation consoles, fans still crave for a follow-up game by developer/publisher Rockstar Games.

Apparently, they have a reputation of delaying sequels and now that Red Dead Redemption got its overdue, it would be a good time to start working on a long-awaited one for one of their most controversial games of all time.

Set into classic open-world sandbox, Bully lets you play as 15-year-old troubled teenager named Jimmy Hopkins, who finds out that his boarding school is full of bullies after being admitted to Bullworth Academy of New England.

He can engage in activities and what not within in-game world to bring peace to his school other than taking part in mini-games. Players can align themselves with various groups or assert dominance over them to eventually bring peace.

According to YouTuber SWEGTA, Bully 2 is going to see release on fall 2020 for cross-generation platforms. Information received from an insider reveals that the game will come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before next-gen hardware.

Previously, similar info was leaked by a self-proclaimed Rockstar insider that lines up with recent statement of SWEGTA. Their reason for cross-generation release of current consoles and upcoming ones are purely motivated by money though.

On GTAForums, SWEGTA has given out following statement regarding development of Bully sequel yesterday.

The way they [Rockstar] are going about this has completely changed. As it stands, they are aiming to release their next game during the holiday season in 2020 (most likely October or November). I can’t say for sure, but that appears to be the current state of planning. Basically, what they want to do is release their next upcoming game on next gen hardware (PS5 and the new Xbox), as well as on the current gen. The motive for this is mainly financial, just like with GTA V on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Also to note that the same YouTuber has claimed Rockstar Games having to cancel development or to put hold on Bully 2 in a video four weeks ago, which completely contradicts his most recent claims that are yet to be verified.

Besides, any rumor like this regarding any major AAA-title should always be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation. Surely, they can give a shot to some long-untouched IP before diving into development of their next smash-hit.

Most recently, Rockstar has seen biggest player count days on Grand Theft Auto V upon releasing latest casino update for GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 of last year has already sold over 25 million copies worldwide.

Bully had a pretty different premise back in 2006 and its sequel can be even more unique in 2020. Of course, fans would expect Rockstar to do exactly that but before they do, we now hold onto rumors while waiting for an official reveal.
