Destiny 2: Warmind DLC Announced

Developer Bungie have teased on what they are planning next for Destiny 2 and gave a release date for the game’s new expansion Warmind.

If you have recently came across any of those articles online that asks "Is Destiny 2 Dead?" and got worried, then we will advise you to chill for a while now. Bungie and Activision has no plan of giving up on their impressively successful multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny 2 just yet. In-fact, they have a complete roadmap up ahead till season four to follow. Today, they have announced that D2's second expansion will be titled "Warmind" and it will be available from May 8, 2018.

More details on Warmind expansion will be revealed on April 24, via an official live stream on Twitch but for now, the developers have gave us just a single teaser image to have an idea of how it would look like. Speculation suggests that expansion two has something to do with Destiny’s mystical artificial intelligence from its core plot. Back in 2017, there was a leak from PlayStation store that revealed that "Gods of Mars" was the previously decided title for this upcoming DLC.

Most probably, a fair amount of Destiny 2 players have already purchased Warmind when they bought the collector’s edition last year. Those who still haven't are now to decide that whether or not they would like to stick around for some more action in Destiny universe considering all the negativity spread around the community about the game's future. Without being completely oblivious to fan's response, Bungie did many minor and major tweaks over the last six months.

Bungie is also planning to bring some change to Crucible content in their competitive multiplayer mode and probably for their future expansions. Possibly, they are going to make a move where competitive multiplayer maps will not be restricted to those who paid for new expansions anymore. They already faced quite a lot of heat regarding how they handled add-on content with Curse of Osiris DLC and these changes to Crucible and expansion are probably because of that.

Warmind expansion will also kick-start season three of the game on the same day, where you will meet new heroes, explore uncharted places and fight new enemies. With all that, new activities will be there to master and new loots to claim are also part of the adventure. Plus, there are private matches, seasonal Crucible rankings, increase in vault space, Nightfall challenge cards and emotes planned till summer as part of update 1.2.0.

Then, Bungie will bring back the daily bounty system this summer in response to a fan outcry for long time. There will be a new seasonal event as pointed out in their development roadmap, clan chat on PC, Exotic Armor sandbox changes, improvements to Faction Rallies and a few more until season 4 starts in September, which is five months away. So in overall, Warmind expansion pack is looking pretty exciting and we will probably learn more about it when a trailer drops for it later this month.

Lastly, we would like to readdress the issue we mentioned at the start that, many MMOs these days faces a lot of controversies in their first year but that doesn't make them dead or forgotten. It still hasn't reached the phase where the game developers are forced to shut it down and fix it. So what that people not talking about it on every other social media these days or criticizing some of their strategies? Of course the hype is not like it was at start but we have a whole new year ahead of us to determine a make-or-break point for the game yet.

Destiny 2 is one of the best-selling titles of 2017 from developer Bungie and publisher Activision to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Although, Bungie didn't say anything about its price, we believe it is safe to assume that it will likely to cost somewhat like $19.99 since that was the price for Curse of Osiris DLC expansion pack. To really keep players hooked up to the title, Warmind DLC will have to be rather impressive or else, it will be hard to keep people interested till season 4.

Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher Comes to Ghost Recon Wildlands

Earlier, we learnt of a crossover between two of Tom Clancy's most popular game title from developer Ubisoft where Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher comes to Bolivian Wildlands for a mission and teams up with the Ghosts. Thus, video game fans are receiving a company-wide crossover of tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands and stealth game Splinter Cell. Sam Fisher will arrive at Wildlands in the next free update Special Operations 1 for one of his black-ops missions.

We got a trailer highlighting features of Ghost Recon Wildlands Special Operation 1: Splinter Cell that marks the return of Sam Fisher.

Available for single player or four player co-op, this Splinter Cell-themed mission is fully stealth based and you will be accompanying Sam during night time into enemy camps to complete his quest. Be mindful of the fact that this is a limited time exclusive and you have to finish the mission before May 2, 2018 to get your hands on special items like night-vision filter or filter goggles which Sam Fisher uses and a few other cool stuffs.

A new assault class Echelon is also added in this free update for PvP modes of Ghost War. This one is part of Sam's Fourth Echelon team and has access to fancy gadgets such as Sonar Pulse, which will let you see enemies at close range from behind the walls. Year 2 Season Pass of Ghost Recon Wildlands can get you seven-day early access to Echelon class or you can purchase it with your hard earned Prestige points. This class is also available in new PvP game mode Sabotage that has five exclusive new maps.

Special Operation 1 will help improve Ghosts' stealth skill as they follow legendary Sam Fisher in the field at work. These new challenges will make them more tactical, which actually helps because Ghost Recon Wildlands is a tactical shooter. It wasn't quite long ago when 90's renowned movie monster, The Predator came to tangle with the Ghosts in a PvE mission. Although he was a bit hard on the elite squad and gave them a tough time, they sure learned a thing or two going up against him.

However, we are glad that Sam Fisher has found a way to come back in action once again even though if it is for a crossover. Voice actor Michael Ironside also returns to portray this iconic character of the series. We might even see him working with special agents of Tom Clancy's The Division in mid-crisis Manhattan of the future shortly afterwards.

Resident Evil 7 Hits 5 Million Sales

In an official press release, Capcom revealed that their first-person survival horror game Resident Evil 7 has recently reached 5.1 million units of sale. This was announced after the game is awarded for Best VR Audio during the 2018 Game Audio Network Guild Awards platform. Being the latest installment of the series that came out only a year ago, the figure isn't looking bad but if we consider that, then we are missing an even big picture here.

Crossing a milestone of selling more than 5 million units is a great achievement itself but Capcom had done better than this before with Resident Evil series. What started as a murder mystery investigation at Spencer Mansion leading to a race of survival against hordes of undead and deadly secrets have become a monstrous franchise itself over time. There are already 25 games from Resident Evil series, some awaited sequels and a super-hit series of movies under the name till date.

No matter what people says, zombie games always have their unique appeal to fans and Capcom has proved that over and over. Though Resident Evil 7 is not exactly a game with zombies in it, it still was full of horror elements and managed to bag some critical acclaim. However, some fans have a different perspective on the matter as they believe RE7 has ruined the series, which is still debatable. What we cannot debate about is the sales figure, which points to a different picture.

If you simply break down and compare 5 million units sales figure to rest of the series, you will notice it isn't looking very good now. All is there for you to find out that the first three games of Resident Evil series have even outsold Resident Evil 7, when the franchise was only growing. Resident Evil 5 of 2009 still reigns at the top spot by selling a record 11.84 million copies and Resident Evil 6 from 2012 secured the second best place with 10 million copies sold.

RELATED: Resident Evil 7’s Next DLC Features Chris Redfield

Initially, Capcom had set a goal of 10 million unit sales for Resident Evil 7 and if it falls short by any chance, they will push it. Whereas they failed with RE7, another of their prodigal title Monster Hunter: World has saved the day by becoming Capcom’s best-selling game ever. Now, it can be that there are too many zombie games out there and Resident Evil 7 just couldn't make it by competing with all of them or perhaps, it just failed to charm more audience as they had hoped for.

RELATED: Monster Hunter: World Becomes Capcom’s Best-Selling Game Ever

Resident Evil 7 is released in January, 2017 from Capcom to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Later, a Gold Edition was released in December including two story-driven DLC titled "Not a Hero" and "End of Zoe". Just before a year it came out, a virtual reality demo Kitchen was dropped at E3 2016 and it had support for PlayStation VR headset. If Resident Evil series have to thrive, they will have to better prepare themselves to compete with upcoming games like Overkill’s The Walking Dead, The Last of Us Part II and World War Z.

Upon entering the tournament of KOF '97 in a team with Billy Kane and Ryuji Yamazaki, she quickly became very popular to fans. Her Japanese fan base actually voted for "Blue" Mary Ryan through gaming magazines to be picked for her entry in The King of Fighters '97. Billy and Yamazaki were also picked with her and you can re-create the original team of these three once again in KOF XIV.

Blue Mary is one of the characters of the series with a very unique move-set as her fighting style is based on Sambo, a Soviet martial art form. Most of her attacks are grapple moves and that thing didn't change for till date according to the trailer. Back in the day, designers had a tough time to animate her moves but it was a fun experience in the end and everything worked out pretty fine. KOF XIV used a new graphic engine to render those moves in real-time 3D.

State of Decay 2 Won't Have Micro-Transactions

We live in such an age of loot-boxes and in-game purchases now that a new game from a major publisher that doesn't include the concept of micro-transactions of any sort is hard to believe. If the title happens to be one of the most-anticipated upcoming releases then it is literally unbelievable for the players. Following Sony’s God of War taking such initiative, developer Undead Labs and publisher Microsoft Studios decided to do the same with State of Decay 2.

RELATED: State of Decay 2 Release Date

Whereas micro-transactions and loot boxes are a ploy to pull more money from the consumers aside from the purchase price they already paid and every other studio is pretty fond of this practice, Undead Labs took a bold move by strictly standing on the opposite way of this road. Though we don't have a direct quote but studio head of developer, Jeff Strain assures that there won't be any micro-transactions in their game.

RELATED: Reddit Bashed EA Over Battlefront II Loot Boxes

Despite their initial stand against the industry trend, when it was revealed that the Standard Edition of State of Decay 2 will cost you only $29.99, fans started speculating what could be the reason for this considerably low cost and the studio had to re-assure them that they are sticking to their earlier decision about loot boxes. This theory comes from the fact that the original State of Decay had a loot box "Prepper's Pack" consists of a gun, a melee weapon and an SUV available for $0.99.

RELATED: State of Decay 2 Collector’s Edition Announced

When one of Undead Labs’ live streams was overwhelmed with comments asking for their plan to compensate the low-cost, the developers had to come clean about it. Although micro-transactions and loot boxes are completely off the table for State of Decay 2, there will be some paid DLC contents just like every other games does for the players to enjoy. If you are wondering what about the cosmetic items, then probably that also falls into the same category.

RELATED: Assassin's Creed Origins Includes Loot Boxes

The developers do recognize that by making their game available on the market for only $29.99 was a huge risk but sinking into the infamous micro-transaction trend would be even worse for long-run. Apparently, they wanted to create a dedicated community for the game so that they all support the title and buys the upcoming expansions as well. Another reason that probably made them cautious was about the idea was the major loot box controversy of Star Wars Battlefront II from last year.

Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios presents, State of Decay 2 will release on May 22, 2018 for PC and Xbox One. For getting your hands on exclusive items, you should place your pre-orders now. Monthly subscription of Xbox Game Pass will let you enjoy the game as well as other titles published by Microsoft from the library. Also, State of Decay 2 will be available for cross-platform play between PC and Xbox One with support from Xbox Play Anywhere program.

Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Live Now

The Year 3 of Ubisoft's tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege, Operation Chimera is about to spice things up like never before starting today, because the brand-new cooperative time event called Outbreak is going live now and it brings all the excitement and surprise on the table for the Rainbow team. Plus, the game adds two new French and Russian counter-terrorism Operators to the fold.

Starting from March 6, this four week-long Outbreak Event is going to put the skills of the best operators suited for this job on test. Till now, Outbreak mode was only available on the test servers of Rainbow Six Siege from last month and now that it has gone live, we will meet the elite Rainbow team at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico as it is taken over by a new breed of hostiles that the operators have never encountered before.

RELATED: Rainbow Six Siege New Operators Lion and Finka

Outbreak is the co-op event to play out with an extent of three players and you have to carefully choose your team from a selected group of Operators as weapons and gadgets unique to them can either give you an advantage on the battlefield over your new enemy types or it can set you off balance. It would be for better if you can assemble a balanced team of three with adjustments of defensive and offensive capabilities in them.

Considering the new situation Operation Chimera presents, Operator who can revive teammates who are down but not yet out would be a huge perk. On that regard, Doc or new Operator Finka would be a good choice. The added benefit of picking up Finka is her team-buffing ability called Adrenal Surge. In general cases, shotguns are used to blast through walls but you will find some good use of it against the gruesome foes of Outbreak mode and Tachanka’s Mounted LMG will come in handy for that.

Outbreak brings five unique types of enemies to the table and not any one of them should be taken lightly. The most frequently encountered enemies throughout Outbreak Event have to be the Grunt. The one with spikes and yellow bubbles are the Breacher who loves to breach through your barricades and then explode. Then there are faster enemies called Apex, the ones who would try to trap you are Rooters and hulking sized Smasher.

RELATED: Rainbow Six Siege's Blood Orchid is Bugged

Outbreak is not for shooting down hostile infected swarm but to uncover the mystery of the carnage that beset on the city of Truth or Consequences. The event will be live from March 6 to April 3 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as you test your skills out in a whole new situation. Since this is no longer a fight against terrorism, the same sort of tactics is better left off and you better form some new ones. Whatever you do, take down your enemies as quickly as possible and build a better defense.

Outlast on Nintendo Switch Out Now

Ever since Nintendo Switch has joined the market competition, AAA game developers have been considering re-introducing their popular titles to the platform followed by an announcement. So, developer Red Barrels decided to join the revolution with their first-person survival psychological horror game Outlast from 2013 and surprisingly, the game is now available on Nintendo Switch eShop without any prior release date announcement.

Following is a disturbing brand-new trailer for Red Barrels’ psycho horror franchise on Nintendo Switch as Outlast: Bundle of Terror.

Although Red Barrels have let the fans know that they are bringing Outlast and Outlast 2 on Switch in the beginning of 2018, there was no mention of a specific release date. They didn't even make a sound about this project till December 2017 and all we had was a Facebook Post on the developers' page of a developer playing the pre-release version of the game on Switch, which truly isn't much for a helpful clue to know when it is due on the Nintendo console.

Just like the creepy in-game jump-scares the game inspires to the players, it was pretty fitting for Outlast to pop out on Nintendo eShop out of nowhere. The Switch version titled "Outlast: Bundle of Terror" contains Outlast and its prequel downloadable content Outlast: Whistleblower. The DLC actually came out a year after the release of the original game though. Outlast 2 probably is the next in the line of Switch release and we won't be surprised if they stealth release the sequel.

With major video game titles like Batman: The Telltale Series, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, Doom, Mercenaries Saga Chronicles, Payday 2 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus have either already released on Switch or awaiting their upcoming release at this point, bringing the Outlast franchise to Switch was a pretty good move for developer/publisher Red Barrels for reaching out to more audience. You can also pre-order Outlast 2 for Switch even though the eShop site still doesn't have a page for the game.
