Marvel's Spider-Man from Insomniac Games to make canonical debut in upcoming Spidergeddon #0 from Marvel Comics.

Upcoming action-adventure title Marvel's Spider-Man from Insomniac Games and Sony Entertainment sees release on September 7 as a PlayStation 4-exclusive. By now, we have gone though it too many a times that this game is focused on a Peter Parker that is not the Spider-Man from the regular comic's continuity. We also know that Marvel tend to tie-in with their various media with each other and so, this brand-new Spidey is going to make its debut in Spidergeddon #0!

Marvel Comics has been teasing for this crossover event for some time which is a successor of Spider-Verse arc from 2014. It showcased new characters like Silk and Spider-Gwen, while one of the fiercest enemies of the wall-crawler; Morlun. The teaser image for Spidergeddon event says, “Spidergeddon is nigh!” and over a dozen of different Spider-Men versions are coming out. However, one of them is mysteriously shrouded in dark and has not revealed the identity just yet.

We now come to a conclusion of that Spider-Person, who is none other than the Spider-Man of upcoming PS4 game. He will make a spectacular entry in Marvel Universe alongside his fellow arachnid counterparts and probably got busy saving their existence from the threat of ... well, that part is still not revealed but considering how they are after the Spider-Totem for centuries and come back even after getting killed off has got us believe it has something to do with Morlun and his family.

To helm this event, Marvel has picked comic-book writer Christos Gage (Thunderbolts – Secret Invasion, World War Hulk – X-Men) and artist Clayton Crain (Carnage – U.S.A., Ghost Rider – Road to Damnation) to work things up. Gage has also worked on the script of Marvel's Spider-Man game and he thinks there couldn't be a better time that this new embodiment of the hero joins the rest of his brethren. He really tried to work things out nicely between all these characters to keep things interesting.

In addition, Marvel will feature him in five of their variant covers to celebrate this new incarnation of web slinger. Marvel Games' creative director Bill Rosemann has Tweeted out four of those amazing variant covers featuring our newly revamped hero in sequences inspired from the game.

Of course the core-story will be dominated by characters like the Amazing Spider-Man, his clone Ben Reilly as the Scarlet Spider, Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, the writer had to choose how to place this new character in a way that doesn't seem forced or unnecessary to audience, because this is going to be a major step for him. Insomniac's web head will see digital and hard copy release on September 26 and even if you do not finish the game before that, you still won't have to worry about any spoilers though.

This surely is a triumphant achievement for the entire team of Insomniac Games and PlayStation as their take of a popular character is being featured in a major crossover event from Marvel Comics and get to display his all-new glory in variant covers of other monthly ongoing books as well. Rosemann believes it as a rare honor for their creative efforts to flesh out a redefined version of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and it will inspire them to do better in future.
