Silent Hills P.T. Remake for PC by Fan

Thanks to a dedicated fan, first-person psychological horror game Silent Hills "Playable Teaser" is being remade and available to play for free!

Before video game legend Hideo Kojima got busy with upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive action game Death Stranding, he was involved in creating a "playable teaser" for Silent Hills alongside film director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water), which got cancelled eventually. P.T. demo was removed from PlayStation Store upon Kojima's departure from Konami. If you haven't gotten that in time, there were no hope for you to have it but apparently, now you can.

A 17-year-old developer Qimsar is currently working on building a complete remake of the game for PC, so that everyone has a chance to enjoy this cult classic. Of course, it is still on alpha state, the demo looks pretty scary as it should. He also added a shout out to a recently deceased sensational rapper in the very beginning. Qimsar added disconnected movement style, quick changes in camera angles and the hallway that keeps creating loops as it redecorates itself.

The demo is now in v0.9, using almost all of the original assets but still far from complete. You will notice that there are no animations, some textures are missing and most importantly, no save feature is added to it yet. So expect nothing more than a simple play-testing until the debugging is complete. To get this port finished, he does need help from some animators to complete his work. Considering how much little experience this young developer had before starting the project, his achievement is quite baffling.

Qimsar is very much aware that like any other fan-made games, the developers can takedown his project anytime if they want. However, he has stated that if Konami hits it with a copyright strike, he will personally upload the game to anyone who wants to take a spin while he keeps updating it. The original Playable Teaser dubbed as "7780s Studio" and had actor Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, The Walking Dead) involved with the project from beginning until it was scrapped.
