Telltale's Stranger Things Game Footage Leaked

With Telltale Games shutting down, footage from their Stranger Things video game has recently been leaked online.

When video game developer and publisher Telltale Games officially announced for a closure last week, everyone from the industry was struck in awe. Employees were laid off without pay and fans were upset because many of their favorite title will get canned.

Many highly-anticipating projects such as The Walking Dead: The Final Season and The Wolf Among Us Season 2 got cancelled as well as a Stranger Things game, which has some early footage leaked online recently.

Previously Netflix has revealed their association with Telltale to produce a licensed game based on the popular sci-fi drama series Stranger Things from their streaming platform back in June. During the studio ending decision, the project was inevitably cancelled.

After firing most of their workers, the studio is currently working with only 25 of them to complete their unfinished work like a five-episode, interactive adaptation of Minecraft: Story Mode for the same streaming giant.

Luckily for fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, they decided to finish The Final Season after all. However, Stranger Things and The Wolf Among Us 2 still remains cancelled despite Netflix wanting an interactive universe for the former title.

The series of short videos in question has no official proof of legitimacy but has resemblance to style of art with previous games from Telltale. This is probably because Netflix wanted them to re-create something like The Walking Dead from 2012.

After making rounds on social media site Reddit and image-based online bulletin board 4chan, the clips were spread everywhere. If you look closely at them, it has the signature of click and point vibe all over it and was from a version of the game that was on near-completion level.

The first three clips were mostly focused on young protagonist Will Byers and his mother Joyce in their own household. The first one shows her talking on phone, Will looks into his drawers in the next and then sat in front of his old-school modeled computer while talk to each other.

The last two clips switched perspective into first-person and seems like on the Upside Down as a Demogorgon shows up, which forces Will to hide under bed. This clearly shows that the game intended to take a more horror-centric path down the road.

Although you cannot make much out of these clips on when the events of the game took place but at least now you know how they could have turned out to be and if you are a fan of the show then it'd really mean something to you (just like it did to us).

It looks like that Telltale was going for repeating a similar experience to The Walking Dead games with some dialogue sequence here and there with player choices and then introducing some action in the mix to give the same feel of the show.
