Assassin's Creed Unity Positively Review-Bombed on Steam

Steam community review-bombed Assassin's Creed Unity to praise its giveaway by Ubisoft last week.

Although action-adventure game Assassin's Creed Unity from developer/publisher Ubisoft came out in 2014 and not has been a trending title for a while, it suddenly became a topic for discussion for gamers worldwide lately.

After iconic cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris caught fire on April 15, the French video game studio donated €500,000 for its restoration and offered free copies of AC Unity, which led to fans positively review bombing it on Steam.

Last week, Ubisoft offered PC version of the game for free so that people can virtually explore and admire this 856 year-old historic Cathedral. Gamers become nostalgic going back to a French Revolution-era Paris and to re-discover this prominent sight.

It generated a surge of complimentary reviews all of a sudden by Steam community on its Store page and for a game that previously had a "mixed" status, has now garnered a "very positive" reputation after recent wave of reviews came in.

AC Unity players are expressing gratitude for allowing them an opportunity to revisit and appreciate what Notre-Dame was and one even joked that they will need to burn down a pyramid to get Assassin's Creed Origins for free.

Ubisoft took a break from the franchise after a rocky launch of Assassin's Creed Unity back in 2015 but as it seems, players have forgiven them for that now and surprisingly, Steam has not even flagged it for off-topic review activities either.
