House of the Dead Remake Nintendo Switch Release Date

MegaPixel Studio and Forever Entertainment reveals an official release date for The House of the Dead: Remake.

House of the Dead Remake Nintendo Switch Release Date

Earlier in April 2021, modern-day remakes of classic arcade shooter The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 were announced by developer MegaPixel Studio and publisher Forever Entertainment for Nintendo Switch handheld.

A gameplay trailer highlighting HD graphics, improved character models and level designs were revealed during official announcement. Today, Forever Entertainment confirmed a release date for Switch port of House of the Dead Remake.

The House of the Dead: Remake is scheduled to arrive for Switch on April 7 and pre-order going live from March 31, 2022. It took MegaPixel Studio nearly a year to finalize a launch window for long-anticipated remake of 90's cult-favorites.

Forever Entertainment has yet to reveal digital pre-order details and whether a physical edition will be available as well. A remake for House of the Dead 2 is possibly under development and it may get revealed after release of first remake.

Back in 2019, Forever Entertainment signed an agreement for HotD 1 and 2 but didn't confirm a release platform. Last month, ESRB has rated The House of the Dead: Remake for Google Stadia but MegaPixel has yet to officially announce it.

House of the Dead Remake was originally planned for a 2021 launch but then was unexpectedly delayed, likely due to COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from graphical enhancements, MegaPixel dev team also promised to include multiple ending.
