A surprise update for official Hollow Knight: Silksong profile on Steam renewed speculation for a new announcement soon.

Started as a planned DLC content for original Hollow Knight, upcoming Metroidvania adventure game Hollow Knight: Silksong from developer/publisher Team Cherry became a full-fledged title that was announced back in February 2019.

Five years after its original reveal, Hollow Knight sequel has yet to share any development news with eagerly awaiting fans. However, a recent update on Valve's digital PC marketplace Steam is possibly teasing a new announcement soon.

For first time in past 14 months, official SteamDB page for Silksong was manually updated lately without any apparent reason. Reddit user ReFlectioH has recently posted a screenshot showing only User Tags (store_tags) switched places.

SteamDB only revealed partial information about Hollow Knight sequel and shows that changes were kept hidden to reduce noise. Nevertheless, fan-community has already taken it as a major tease for potential announcement in future.

Although popularity of the first game only grew over past few years, Team Cherry was reluctant in sharing Silksong development updates. Since it expanded to become a full sequel from a DLC, dev team may require extra time to finish it.

Hollow Knight: Silksong lets you play as Hornet, a fan-favorite NPC from original game equipped with her unique move-sets. Expanding over previous game, latest sequel features lot more new enemies and checkpoint than first HK game.
