Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event Announced

Right before the big-day love, on February 13, Crimson Days event will be going live for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Much like the previous instance, it will be a competitive multiplayer mode for 2v2 matches on a Crucible map called The Burnout, previously known as the Burning Shrine. In these round-based Clash mode game, you should try to keep up with your teammate for quick recharge of your abilities.

Another reason to not get too far from your partner is that you will lose buff and your awaiting enemy will easily find you using a waypoint. Even if you get detached from your colleague for a while, there is a marker to guide you back again. This can be proven very handy when you are teaming-up with some random person for the lack of a partner in Destiny 2. The game has an efficient matchmaking system so that if you join the match solo, you can still find someone to partner up.

One of the primary perks of 2018's Crimson Days event is the chance of getting handful of cosmetic items. According to Bungie, completing the Crimson Days Crucible playlist firsthand will be the best way to earn rewards and the rewarding system is centered on single-character play. Most of the time, you will find rewards in a new Crimson Engram and there is a “knock-out” list to make sure that you don't end up having duplicate items like during The Dawning.

Aside from all these regular prizes, Bungie claims to have other special rewards that can only be achieved through certain means.

  • To get the Fire of the Crimson Days Emblem and the Tirastrella Ghost Shell, you have to finish five Crimson Days matches for completing “Welcome to Crimson Days” highlight and you have to pay Lord Shaxx a visit in the Tower.

  • The Undeterred Exotic Sparrow gun can be yours upon completion of Crimson Days Crucible playlist.

  • By completing Leviathan Raid or the Raid Lair: Eater of Worlds you can achieve the sick-looking Dieselpunk Exotic Ornament for Wardcliff Coil straight outta final chest.

  • Earn the Flaunting Dance Emote by finishing Nightfall Strike within the Crimson Days event week.

Regardless of your actions on Crimson Days, you and your partner will get an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram as soon as you level up. Crimson Engrams are of course, not limited to this seasonal event of Destiny 2 and you can only achieve them from gameplay so that no one can claim for any attempt of forcing players to spend real-world money. From the in-game store Eververse, you can buy gears and items in exchange for Bright Dust, which will also be added to the “knock-out” list.

Since Crimson Engrams are not limited to Crimson Days, there's no cap on how many of them you can earn. However, there is a level cap for your Guardian and if you are a non-DLC owner, then it is 20. For those who own the Curse of Osiris DLC expansion will need to reach 25 to be eligible for level-up reward Engrams.

You can also consider Bungie being this much generous with Crimson Days to compensate the players for from last year’s The Dawning event, which saw quite a backlash from the disappointed fans. So, bringing back a popular Mercury-based map from the original Destiny was not a bad idea. Debuting on February 13, Crimson Days event will run for a week to come until February 20.
