Control Publisher Lied About Ultimate Edition Upgrade

Players accidentally receive Ultimate Edition for Control on PlayStation Store, exposing excuse given by 505 Games for next-gen.

Ahead of first launch anniversary, developer Remedy Entertainment and publisher 505 Games announced Ultimate Edition for sci-fi adventure game Control and sparked controversy among fans for not offering free next-gen upgrade.

505 Games eventually offered an explanation why players across all platforms who already own all content can be upgraded to new generation of console for free but most recently, fans have caught them lying about free next-gen version.

Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Won't Need Base Game

id Software reveals that Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods story DLC will not require base game to play.

Back in August, a first-look of upcoming single-player DLC expansion for first-person shooter game Doom Eternal was teased by developer id Software and publisher Bethesda Softworks via a new trailer at QuakeCon 2020 digital event.

Opening Night Live showcase of Gamescom offers a better look at The Ancient Gods expansion and reveals a release date. Bethesda confirms that players who don't have Doom Eternal base game can also buy and enjoy the DLC as well.

A full reveal was due for Opening Night Live showcase at Gamescom, where Bethesda debuts an official trailer unveiling new story campaign, enemies and same brutal gameplay, currently announced to release on October 20, 2020.

DotEmu will be releasing post-launch DLC content for Streets of Rage 4 but they are in no rush for a release date.

Seeing a rising trend of beat 'em up games in recent years, developer DotEmu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube attempted to revive a classic and have released Streets of Rage 4 earlier this year, in association with publisher Sega.

CD Projekt Red will be offering free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 following release just like The Witcher 3.

Though initially slated for April 2020 launch, developer/publisher CD Projekt Red had to delay upcoming role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 release date to November 19, due to restricted working conditions during COVID-19 pandemic.

Xbox Game Pass to Add Destiny 2

Bungie will be adding Destiny 2 to Xbox Game Pass this September, with access to all current expansions.

Over the years, developer/publisher Bungie added a host of content to 2017 online multiplayer shooter Destiny 2 since launch. Following recent legacy of Forsaken and Shadowkeep, a new expansion, Beyond Light will arrive on November 10.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light DLC Expansion Delayed

Previous release date for Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion has been delayed because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier in June, developer/publisher Bungie revealed plans to add a new trilogy of expansions in Year 4 Season 2 content for free-to-play online multiplayer shooter Destiny 2 to start a new era and first one among them was Beyond Light.

Bungie originally planned to launch Beyond Light DLC expansion on September 22 and reveal more features very soon, which is now been delayed to November 10, 2020 due to working restrictions during ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
