Epic Games Store will be giving away PC version of Spirit of the North and The Captain for free this week.

Spirit of the North and The Captain Free on Epic Games Store Now

Giving away a total of 89 free games last year alone, Epic Games is trying to increase their free PC game numbers by rolling out double freebies every week on their digital distribution outlet Epic Games Store and plans to continue through.

Epic Store is offering free copies of 2019 indie third-person adventure game Spirit of the North and retro-inspired puzzle adventure The Captain for this week to get a copy and own it forever before September 22, 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM ET.

Inspired by Nordic folklore, developer Infuse Studio and publisher Merge Games came up with an idea for a single-player third-person adventure set in variety of landscapes of Iceland, where you play as a red fox, embarking a great journey.

Spirit of the North lets you explore a forgotten land in ruins, under red-stained skies and over its mountains. Your story soon gets intertwined with a magical spirit fox, who is a guardian of Northern Lights as you discover a lost civilization.

In a race to protect Earth, you must become The Captain in titular 2021 indie adventure game by Sysiac Games. Enjoy a retro-style aesthetic in-game while you decide to destroy civilizations or maybe even save them as you head back home.

Epic Games Store has already announced to giveaway returning freebie ARK: Survival Evolved as well as 2021 turn-based strategy role-playing game Gloomhaven for everyone to claim next week, becomes available on September 22, 2022.
