It has become more common these days for an upcoming first-party Nintendo Switch-exclusive game gets leaked before launch and spoilers are everywhere on social media, causing Nintendo to go after whoever was responsible for leak.
Nintendo fans were eagerly waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release later this month but unseen content are already making rounds online nearly two weeks ahead of its global launch and ruining everything for fans.
Early copies of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may have broken its street date and someone got a copy few weeks before official launch. This Monday, images and videos begins to spoil opening section of TotK to many fans on social media.
Other than sharing on Twitter and private discord channels, some even started streaming TotK on Twitch before they were removed by copyright holder Nintendo with but their biggest issue will be Zelda: TotK running via a PC emulator.
Fans who really want to avoid gameplay and story spoilers need to look out on social media for next two weeks before May 12 release date. This leak could lead to Tears of the Kingdom being shared on ROM sites for people to download.
Already a physical retail copy for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was spotted on auction site but it was quickly taken down. Meanwhile, leakers on Reddit and Twitter are sharing a lot of in-game secrets of Zelda: TotK and its chaos out there.
Previously, Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Diamond & Pearl also got leaked ahead of their releases. Back in February, unreleased artworks of TotK was posted on Discord and Reddit before Nintendo came looking for the leaker.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom released a gameplay demo earlier and updated fans with new information. In his latest journey, Link will visit mysterious islands floating high above in skies of Hyrule and begin a new adventure.
