Streets of Rage 4 Releases Patch to Celebrate 1.5 Million Sales

DotEmu releases newest balancing update for Streets of Rage 4 to celebrate reaching 1.5 million downloads.

A long-awaited return to Streets of Rage franchise since 1994, classic beat 'em up game Streets of Rage 4 came out on April 2020 for major current generation gaming systems like Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Today, SoR4 reaches an exciting milestone of 1.5 million downloads and releases a brand-new balancing update. There is a long list of balance changes, bug fixes and improvements to look at, which players can find in detailed Patch Notes.

Across available platforms, developer DotEmu has rolled out patch version 1.03 with a host of change that are mostly centered around main roster of playable characters Axel Stone, Adam Hunter, Blaze Fielding, Cherry Hunter and Floyd Iraia.

Streets of Rage 4 to Get Post-Launch Content

DotEmu will be releasing post-launch DLC content for Streets of Rage 4 but they are in no rush for a release date.

Seeing a rising trend of beat 'em up games in recent years, developer DotEmu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube attempted to revive a classic and have released Streets of Rage 4 earlier this year, in association with publisher Sega.

After making a successful debut on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, SoR4 dev team has recently announced having DLC plans for future on social media but there is no post-launch content roadmap to share yet.

GOG store is selling Streets of Rage 4 PC Version without online multiplayer and yet charging for a full price.

After a very long departure from series for nearly 25 years, classic side-scrolling beat 'em up game Streets of Rage 4 makes a comeback to its genre lately by launching on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Although all versions of SoR4 seemingly have released with all similar features in common, GOG version of the game for PC platform is not supporting online multiplayer mode in spite of having a same price tag as Steam storefront.

PC version on GOG has a disclaimer that evidently states that two-player online mode is currently not available on store and DRM-free version of SoR4 only supports up to four-player in local co-op action, not two-player online.

DotEmu has announced Streets of Rage 4 to release on April 30 and Battle Mode revealed in a new trailer.

Streets of Rage 4 Introduces Cherry Hunter

At Gamescom 2019, a third playable character Cherry Hunter is introduced for Streets of Rage 4 by developer DotEmu.

Back in August 2018, official announcement for upcoming side-scrolling beat 'em up game Streets of Rage 4 was made by developer DotEmu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube with a brand-new trailer and some gameplay bits.

Two fan-favorite series regular ex-cop Axel Stone and police detective Blaze Fielding are confirmed for SoR4. A third and newly added playable character named Cherry Hunter is introduced lately at Gamescom 2019 in a new clip.
