Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare DLC Announced

A successful revival of 90's classic brawler franchise, side-scrolling beat 'em up game Streets of Rage 4 has sold more than a million copies within months upon release on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in April 2020.

Celebrating its success, developer DotEmu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube revealed plans for future DLC. Today, SoR4 dev team announces Mr. X Nightmare, an upcoming expansion that adds new playable characters and more.

Fans were speculating of Special Forces police officer and recurring boss character Estel Aguirre becoming playable shortly after DotEmu teased a possible DLC release for Streets of Rage 4 and her arrival is confirmed by latest trailer.

DotEmu has also teased two more character to join SoR4 campaign alongside Estel and they are yet to be revealed. Additional changes include digital musical tracks by composer Tee Lopes and palette swap options for existing roster.

Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare DLC will be featuring a Survival game mode that adds brand-new weekly challenges for players. Moreover, series protagonists will receive some fresh new moves and odd weapons like a swordfish.

DotEmu is likely to announce an official release date for Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare DLC expansion. SoR4 players across all platforms are to get a free update introducing an in-depth training system, Mania+ difficulty and more.
