Nintendo Officially Confirms Bowsette is Not Canon

Nintendo has officially confirmed that Bowsette is not canon and will not be in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

When Nintendo announced to release a Nintendo Switch port of the popular 2D side-scrolling platform game New Super Mario Bros. U from Wii U, they introduced two additional playable characters, Nabbit and Toadette that led to the creation of fan-made character Bowsette.

The revelation of Toadette transforming into a character akin to Princess Peach using the power of Super Crown has gave players the idea of tinkering other characters and fans ended up converting Bowser but the company has finally denied that idea officially.

Developer/publisher Nintendo has recently set the record straight by confirming that the Super Crown power-up transformation is only for Toadette to transform into Peachette, therefore clearing out any possibility of Bowser to ever become a princess using it.

It came as an informal notice in the official website for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe where information section for Super Crown entry states "only Toadette can use this item!" and thus answered the question that whether or not King Koopa can become a pretty princess for all.

Not only had it gone on to become popular meme online that spread like a wildfire with waves of itchy fan arts flooding social media and various photo sharing sites. Even a Bowsette porn parody came out shortly afterwards to cash in the hype.

Mods to add the character in games like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and New Super Mario Bros. Wii were created. This arguably becomes one of the most popular fan creations to ever exist that became a headache for Nintendo.

Just because Nintendo has shot down the concept of Bowsette a week before the release of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe on January 11, 2019 and denied a place in canon doesn't mean that fans would stop loving the character or making more creative fan arts anytime soon.

Besides, they can always find other ways to include Princess Koopa into the game or even made a nod to if they ever want, considering the social media phenomenon it became overnight. However, we are really thankful that we didn't saw Luigi in such form or whatsoever.
