Soulcalibur 6 Adds Cassandra and Haohmaru

Bandai Namco brings back Cassandra for Soulcalibur VI and adding Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown in Season 2.

Up until now, weapon-based fighting game franchise Soulcalibur from developer/publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment made a successful comeback in 2018 with Soulcalibur VI, which is reboot to its long-running series.

Recently at EVO 2019 grand finals, game producer Motohiro Okubo took to stage revealing return of series veteran Cassandra Alexandra and adding surprise guest character, Haohmaru from iconic Samurai Shodown game series.

Players can unlock weapons and new story mission for Cassandra when she becomes available on August 5.

Cassandra is younger sister to Sophitia and has been a recurring playable fighter character after debuting back in Soulcalibur II. Also known as The Valiant Princess, she last appeared in Soulcalibur IV and coming back within a few days.

A DLC character for Season Pass, Cassandra retains her old fighting style using a deadly combination of her sword and shield to attack. A new gameplay system will be introduced from Season 2 but more on that would be revealed in future.

Season Pass 2 would of course add new downloadable content and Haohmaru, a legendary ronin samurai comes on board as a guest fighter. It appears that his reputation precedes him from his own franchise to other fighting games.

Very first among four bonus characters, Haohmaru is ready to cross paths with warriors of another world in his eternal quest to become the greatest warrior of them all and he will not hold back his furious sword for anyone.

In latest reveal trailer for upcoming Season 2, Haohmaru shows-off his brief appearance before joining to Soulcalibur roster.

There were speculations that Bandai Namco may add Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII or Kratos from God of War in future but the famed swordsman become their latest pick after making a comeback through Samurai Shodown 2019.

Fighting game lovers can easily dip their toes into Soulcalibur VI, which is now available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Whether you are willing to enjoy fighting on solo or online, there is much to explore and unpack.
