The King of Fighters XV Announced

SNK took stage at EVO 2019 to officially announce upcoming King of Fighters XV with a short teaser clip.

There was a time when Japanese video game developer/publisher SNK would come up with a new installment of King of Fighters franchise each year but following release of King of Fighters XIV back in 2016, they took a break.

They were actually working on a brand-new KOF title for some time to make a surprise announcement for upcoming King of Fighters XV at EVO 2019, which is currently in development phase and aiming for a 2020 release window.

There was nothing more than an official logo over a background just to confirm fans that SNK has not given up on their long-running, iconic fighting game series and there are chances of dropping some in-game showcase very soon.

Each year, major fighting games find a platform at Evolution Championship Series annual event. KOF has been absent at EVO for past two consecutive years only to be taken over by Samurai Shodown 2019 at eSports stage this year.

Despite giving any details on release platforms, it is highly likely for the title to arrive for consoles and PC. However, they might very well choose to release the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One first before launching on PC.

King of Fighters XV is stated to run on Unreal Engine 4, similar to most recent SNK project Samurai Shodown reboot for 2019 and their anticipated comeback to genre may even tie with upcoming next-gen Neo Geo console.
