Elden Ring Will Be Showcased at Taipei Game Show

Upcoming action RPG game Elden Ring from From Software to be shown at Taipei Game Show 2020.

Right after HBO's fantasy drama TV series Game of Thrones ended; there was a rumor of its creator George R. R. Martin working with popular Japanese studio From Software that turns out to be upcoming action role-playing game Elden Ring.

Then an official announcement trailer was dropped back in E3 2019 and there has been no buzz about the game ever since until now but looks like, fans are going to see more of its RPG action next month at Taipei Game Show 2020.

This show will take place from February 6 to 9 and the dark fantasy title will be showcased during presentation by Sony. Although attendees won't be able to get a hands-on playing experience, a new footage will likely to get revealed.

At this point, people have no solid idea of what to expect from latest title of Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. Nevertheless, everyone is excited to see From Software attempting to explore open-world genre for very first time.

In September 2019, a leaked listing from Target retail chain suggests the game has a release window set for June 2020. Most recently, From Software official site has reaffirmed the same date on a New Year card, making it more obvious.

Elden Ring has been under development from 2017 right after Dark Souls III final DLC, The Ringed City was released. Given their past record of shipping games quickly, a release date set for this year will not be very much surprising at all.

A brief gameplay showcase in the trailer features high-intensity action and tons of super flexing. Remaining faithful to his anime counterpart, Arc System has made sure that his character is a force of nature that should not be taken lightly.

Ahead of official reveal, hints from recent issue of Japanese magazine Jump has pointed out when he will arrive. Players have waited nearly a year to get their hands on DBS incarnation of Broly and that wait is coming to an end.

ArcSys has already debuted Dragon Ball Z: Broly version of him in their first season of DLC series and like all of previously introduced fan-favorites, his story is embedded in his entire move sets comprised of powerful blows and throws.

With upcoming inclusion of Broly from Dragon Ball Super, its roster number will reach to a total of 35. So far, 13 DLC fighters were added as part of dedicated post-launch support for FighterZ, following its release back in 2018.

Popular arcade-style fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ is out now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This ultimate warrior with a power level of 10,000 will be fifth character that has been drawn into DBF.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Won't Have Switch Release

Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot isn't coming to Nintendo Switch after all.

After an initial reveal back in January, upcoming action role-playing Dragon Ball game is announced to be Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot at E3 2019 event by developer CyberConnect2 and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment.

It was recently confirmed by Bandai Namco that DBZ: Kakarot will not be launched on Nintendo Switch other than major three platforms unlike previously ported Dragon Ball FighterZ, fighting game set within same universe by Arc System Works.

A report for a lack of Switch version came in earlier when questioned by news outlet AltChar about a running rumor of a port and Bandai Namco replied the game would only arrive on confirmed major platforms next year.

Centered on life of Saiyan Goku, Kakarot will be featuring many fan-favorite as well as untold new stories for all fans. Series creator Akira Toriyama has even joined to help with its narrative and created original character Bonyū.

Despite being a commercial success and having some quality ports, Nintendo is greatly lacking of big-name titles like DBZ: Kakarot for their next-gen handheld console library these days in comparison to its predecessor system Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Won't Have Mai Shiranui

Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury series is too sexy for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and won't be making an appearance.

With a 48-minute lengthy stream, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game director Masahiro Sakurai introduced Terry Bogard from SNK fighting game series Fatal Fury and King of Fighters as latest DLC fighter for his largely popular title.

There were renowned characters like Andy Bogard, Blue Mary, Geese Howard and noticeable many other around his new stage during entire presentation except Mai Shiranui, who apparently is too sexy for Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Won't Have Mai Shiranui

RELATED: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Breaks Halo: Reach Sales Records

It's not like she was mistakenly left out but excluding her from SSBU was a conscious choice. At midpoint, Sakurai paused to clear out that "Smash Bros. Ultimate is for good boys and girls of many different ages" and so they decided not to add her.

Viewed often as a sex symbol of SNK fighting games, Mai is often considered as one of the hottest babes in video game. Even her official nickname was "The Alluring Ninja Girl" and would be featured in most promotional art.

RELATED: Nintendo Switch Getting More 3DS Games

If you are not familiar with her character at all then have a look at her idle animation from King of Fighters XIII to get the idea.

RELATED: Undertale Creator Composed for Pokémon Sword and Shield

Looking at her, anyone surely can guess why but that is also a reason for her not to be a part of a family-friendly game. No one clearly needed an explanation from Sakurai over this matter since it is obviously because of her clothing.

Despite being a master of ninjitsu and Koppo-ken combat style, her skimpy outfit and bouncy features has always got the attraction of fans other than her fighting prowess, which has now cost her an appearance in Smash Ultimate.

RELATED: Devs Wants Cuphead and Mugman in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Eventually, this announcement on her Smash cameo has "Mai Shiranui" trending on Twitter and here are some good ones.

RELATED: Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Release Date

Since Mai is not age appropriate for Smash Bros. audience in general, they couldn't feature her without putting her into a less revealing outfit but that sort of censorship may invoke a huge backlash from her fans, so there is no winning over this.

Then there is a question about how come other prominent characters like Bayonetta and Zero Suit Samus appear in SSBU for not just mere cameos but as fighters with their more mature designs and Mai couldn't even show up as a guest?

RELATED: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Becomes Best-Selling Fighting Video Game

Although her overall outlook may seem overly objectified and a bit too sexualized even for too many adult players these days, originally her design meant to represent traditional and ideal feminine beauty of Japanese woman.

Nevertheless, keeping Mai out of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate might be a well-thought decision from developer Bandai Namco Studios and publisher Nintendo to get a clear pass from rating board reviews for their crossover fighting game.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Becomes Best-Selling Fighting Video Game

Popular Nintendo Switch brawler Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now best selling fighting game of all-time.

Despite getting leaked before launch, hotly anticipated 2018 crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from developer Bandai Namco Studios and publisher Nintendo managed to make and break many sales records.

It was recently revealed in a half-year financial report that SSBU has surpassed lifetime sales of Wii U home console in less than six months and now became best selling fighting game of all-time, ousting previous title holder Street Fighter II.

RELATED: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leaked Before Launch

SFII was released back in 1991 and by September 30, 2019, a total number of 15.7 million units have been sold and this is a significant victory for Smash Bros. Ultimate considering how little time it took to exceed that impressive number.

Also, Street Fighter II released a series of updated versions over the years and ports for many different platforms. Yet, it took less than a year and Nintendo Switch as a single launch platform for SSBU to beat lifetime sales record of SF2.

RELATED: Devs Wants Cuphead and Mugman in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

More of its success can be pointed towards strong sales of Nintendo's eighth-generation hybrid console Switch. That record will keep expanding with recent release of Nintendo Switch Lite, which has been doing very well in all regions.

A title that brings together both casual and competitive players, SSB Ultimate is largely popular to a wide audience range due to its ensemble of fan-favorite fighters assembled from many third-party games that are not Nintendo property.

RELATED: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Breaks Halo: Reach Sales Records

More of these characters are frequently added to its roster through Fighters Pass DLC including themed music and stages. Post-launch content updates are another major factor that contributes to sales of Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Although Super Smash Bros. Ultimate did better than other Switch games such as Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it has yet to outdo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and its overall sales of 19.01 million units.

Enemy attacks are improved in terms of animation and their SFX timing in general with more reactions added for them now. In trial edition, they will give a flinch reaction whenever they are hit with a heavy attack or knockdown.

The trailer opens up showing an unknown figure who is presumably a divine blacksmith of some sort and repeatedly hitting a shiny object with a hammer like tool. With each impact, his body is cracked a little more and he collapses after a final blow.

A person wearing a crown holds up a severed arm of another by partially wearing it and six creepy looking hands approaches from darkness. They slowly proceed to uplift the bearer to light when the severed arm suddenly moves.

A red-haired female warrior prepares for an oncoming battle by attaching a prosthetic arm. We then see a knight in armor swiftly stabs a hulking enemy with a spear, which led to sky turning fiery red and the defeated opponent set ablaze in flames.

While these events all run in parallel, legend of Elden Ring is described by an unseen narrator as an artifact of unimaginable power that could command stars and beyond but now, someone or something has unleashed an unthinkable disaster by breaking it.

Early leaks and rumors had it that creators have taken some inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology during its build up. Players are supposed to roam from different kingdoms to take out their ruler in quest of acquiring their power.

Opening shots of a cut off arm could be some form of ritual and a battle scene with red sky may be from aspects of confronting those monarch figures. Although confirmed to be an open-world game, there would be significant focus on RPG elements.
