Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Void Edge Revealed

Operation Void Edge free update for tactical shooter title Rainbow Six Siege is about to go live on test servers.

After a tease back in February 10, developer/publisher Ubisoft has revealed Operation Void Edge free update today for online tactical shooter game Rainbow Six Siege before wrapping up its fourth season during Six Invitational 2020.

Siege will include two brand-new Operators, gameplay updates, rework of Oregon map and more in upcoming Year 5 Season 1 content. Void Edge will go live on test servers from February 17, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Ubisoft has rolled out a trailer for R6 Siege highlighting gameplay mechanics and other details of new Operators.

Dutch descendant Iana is a new Attacker in Team Rainbow and a systems engineering specialist. She is a normal-speed, medium-armor Rainbow agent who primarily wields ARX 200 or G36C assault rifle and creates holograms to deceive enemies.

Using her Gemini Replicator gadget, she makes holographic copy that really can't do any harm but creates confusion among rival team. However, her lifelike deceptions are of less use while facing Operators like Bandit, Kaid, Maestro and Mute.

Also joining in is a new Defender from GIGR regiment named Oryx, who is a Jordanian powerhouse of brute strength. Using his unique Remah Dash ability, he can easily smash barricades and walls that have no reinforcements.

Oryx usually carries a SPAS-12 shotgun and MP5 assault rifle when he is not busy ramming into other Operators. His dash attack is pretty intimidating against shield-bearing Operators like Blitz, Fuze, Montagne, Recruit and Tachanka.

Operation Void Edge will add Tomb Raider gadget skin, headgear, uniform and victory animation for Ash in Year 5 Season 1 first Elite set. Her breaching rounds firing M120 CREM, G36C and R4-C assault rifle gets makeover as well.

Her dual wield position from the trailer maybe part of her Lara Croft victory pose for now but you may expect that ability to be introduced in future. This is a first ever intercompany character skin crossover from Ubisoft with another publisher.

Metro Exodus Coming to Steam

Metro Exodus will be returning to Steam very soon after a year of timed exclusivity at Epic Games Store.

Shortly before its worldwide release, first-person shooter Metro Exodus was snagged by Epic Games Store for PC platform, leaving Steam. Though all pre-orders were fulfilled, Epic Games was heavily bashed by series fans for this shady move.

Even developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver faced heavy backlash from PC gaming community. A year later, that timed exclusivity period is finally coming to an end as the game will return to Steam on February 15, 2020.

In a divisive move of bait and switch, this title was one of the most-anticipated games that became exclusive to Epic Store. Those games are expected to show up in other storefronts over time once their signed deal expires eventually.

In a query of customers, official Twitter account for Metro Exodus has revealed that Windows PC version will not arrive on GOG anytime soon and many are speculating that it has something to do with their DRM-free policy.

Both Standard and Gold Edition of the game is currently available at 40% off on Epic Games Store until February 14, 2020. Also don't forget to pick up Expansion Pass or additional DLC pack "The Two Colonels" for 25% discount.

Metro Exodus is third installment of Metro series, continuing from story of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. Although Steam has not yet listed its retail price yet, its first DLC and Expansion Pass are available for purchase.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX | Demo

Two classic Pokémon games of 2006 from Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS are finally coming to Nintendo Switch after over a decade. Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team are both being newly remade into one single title.

Although no extension of roster is offered, it will receive stunning new visuals as well as Mega Evolutions. Re-branded for a new generation of console, Rescue Team DX is scheduled to launch on March 6, 2020.

Marked as most recent entry in Mystery Dungeon series since 2015, this remake title is scheduled to launch on March 6, 2020 and publisher Pokemon Company has already dropped a playable demo for this remake at Nintendo eShop.

No Pokémon from Galar region, nor any Dynamax or Gigantamax abilities are featured in its logo or promotional trailer. Rescue Team DX will be sending players off to compete with Pokémon rivals into random dungeons to fulfill missions.

Pokémon Home | Nintendo Switch
Announced back in May 2019, Pokémon Home is a cloud-based storage system that would work with games like Pokémon Go, Pokémon: Let's Go! and Pokémon Sword/Shield, enabling players to store and transfer their Pokémon.

Nintendo is planning to make Pokémon Home their primary storage solution in future as a modern-day successor to Pokémon Bank app. It will let players trade between their friends either locally or anywhere in world via online.

RELATED: Nintendo Switch Getting More 3DS Games

Aside from running on Switch systems, now people will also be able to access the app from Android and iOS mobile devices unlike Pokémon Bank system for 3DS platform that in past used to limit features to its own consoles only.

However, you cannot transfer your Pokémon to deposit or withdraw them for any older titles of the franchise. Set to arrive in February 2020, people are only allowed to transfer Pokémon into Sword and Shield through this cloud service.

RELATED: Nintendo Indie World Showcase December 2019

There was no release announcement on recent livestream other than Rescue Team DX and major parts of today's video showcase were largely focused on in-depth details of newly revealed Sword and Shield expansions.

Though many thought there will be a lot of discussion regarding Pokémon Home, it somewhat got a reference at the end of Pokémon Direct. Hopefully, Nintendo will let players know more about this storage solution ahead of its launch.

Shenmue 3 Backers Won't Get Pre-Order Content

Kickstarter backers will not receive Shenmue III pre-order content for free upon launch but sure can pay for it.

If debacles created around upcoming anticipated action-adventure game Shenmue III was not enough by now, we have more disappointing news at hand for backers who funded creator Yu Suzuki on Kickstarter to make this project successful.

Going Epic Games Store-exclusive was bad enough for many fans on PC but in a latest crowdfunding update, developer Ys Net also states that backer are not receiving pre-order content included in Deluxe Edition, unless they pay for it.

Apart from going timed exclusive at Epic Store, it was announced at E3 2019 that developers are now working on post-launch content and they are likely to be added as pre-order bonuses or be included in Deluxe Edition and Season Pass.

Even though people who funds projects on Kickstarter receive some extra incentive limited for them as an appreciation for their support, Ys Net decided to completely deny them of any extra content and that includes higher tier backers as well.

RELATED: Shenmue and Shenmue 2 Re-Release Date

When someone at ResetEra forum asked for a response from YS Net about Season Pass, they had the following to say.

Dear Antonio,
We apologize for the long delay in responding. Your feedback is appreciated and we will look into having your noted points in future updates.
Standard and deluxe versions released through retail sales are not affiliated with the crowdfunding campaign, so will not be included with backer pledges, however, they will be available for sale separately. Kickstarter Backers will receive the Kickstarter version, Slacker Backers will receive the Slacker Backer version. Both have unique content respective to their versions not available in the retail versions.
A season pass is not included.
Trial version release date info has yet to be confirmed and will be announced in the updates when details are available. You will be receiving your trial version, but we must ask for your patience for a little longer.
There will be more information following in the days ahead concerning updates.
Sincerely,
The Shenmue III Team

RELATED: Shenmue 3 Epic Store Exclusivity Creates Kickstarter Controversy

According to their statement, backers are still getting some exclusive content respectively unique to Kickstarter and Slacker Backer version. Nevertheless, if you are so willing to enjoy post-launch content for Shenmue III, pay for it.

Though it was probably a decision made by publisher Deep Silver but Yu Suzuki has clearly forgotten how for all those backers who showed up pledging their support to his KS project at first hour major companies has gotten involved.

RELATED: Shenmue 3 Backers Getting Refund from Epic Store

A considerable faction of backers who gave their money to Suzuki and his company Ys Net for a copy of the game on Steam upon release now either has to wait a year if they are unwilling to install Epic Games launcher on their PC.

Although they were originally denied any refunds by Ys Net for this change, which created a major backlash and possibly had some lawsuits incoming but CEO of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney came offering a full refund for damage control.

RELATED: Shenmue 3 Won't Cover Ryo's Complete Story

Suzuki revealed in a recent interview during PC Gaming Show 2019 that the game won't even be covering Ryo's complete story but only 40% of it, which means he already has plans for one or two more upcoming sequels in mind.

Given how his backers are scammed out of what they are promised in early phase of Shenmue III, his reputation is literally tarnished and he surely will face trouble gathering funds for next Shenmue game without Epic Games or Sony backing him.
