Resident Evil 8 Won't Be VR-Exclusive, No Plans for Code: Veronica

Reputed leaker confirms Resident Evil 8 will not be a VR-exclusive title and there is no Code: Veronica remake.

While fans are currently waiting for developer/publisher Capcom to release upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil 3 Remake on April 3, 2020, more leaks for Resident Evil 8 keeps coming with new and interesting details.

Earlier this year, AestheticGamer has leaked new details on enemies and location of upcoming Resident Evil game. He was asked recently if Resident Evil 8 will be a VR-exclusive and he confirmed that is not going to be the case.

This is largely predicted by primary audience base for Capcom's iconic survival horror franchise. Besides, virtual reality technology needs to grow even more popular and only then a Resident Evil VR-exclusive game can become a possibility.

He also states that next year will be a crazy time for any Resident Evil fan as Capcom has at least one surprise title ready for launch. However, they are not ready to bring RE8 just yet and nor will there be another classic remake in 2021.

Resident Evil 8 may not release as a VR-exclusive but there could be an optional VR mode like Resident Evil 7.

Another reliable source known as Evil VR has previously stated that Capcom is not interested in a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica back in January 2019 and AestheticGamer have simply reaffirmed that same claim once again.

Fans who wanted a remake of Code: Veronica will surely be disappointed but Capcom may very well consider this project in future. However, there are rumors from insider sources of an experimental spin-off game that may release soon.

Series characters Chris Redfield and Ethan Winters are both are reportedly returning in next mainline Resident Evil game, which will be moving over to a medieval setting with armored zombies and wolf-like creatures in a castle.

Resident Evil 8 is currently rumored to be in works at Capcom for PC and next-generation platforms. Until an official announcement for RE8 comes out at some point, fans are advised to take all leaked information with a grain of salt.
