Fallout 76 May Add Pets

In a latest AMA session on Reddit, Bethesda developer team has hinted for adding pets to Fallout 76.

Shortly after release of online action role-playing game Fallout 76 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018, developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks received a barrage of negative reception for bugs and missing elements.

Following launch of Wastelanders free update, Bethesda added new quests and NPCs for F76. In a recent AMA session on Reddit, lead designer Ferret Baudoin and project lead Jeff Gardiner has expressed interest of adding pet as well.

Aside from fixing bugs and adding story bits, Wastelanders content update has introduced non-playable characters to interact with players. From here on, most reasonable step for Bethesda would be adding some pet companions next.

Previously, both Fallout 3 and its successor title Fallout 4 had a canine cohort Dogmeat, who acted as an aid. Hopefully, human settlers will get to meet more exotic animals in near future other than just dogs in open-world of Appalachia.

Baudoin and Gardiner have made the following statement when asked if there will be pets in Fallout 76.

Now that we have our companions system in the game, we are looking to add pets as well.

Now that there is a companion system in place, pets would likely to be a fantastic addition to Fallout 76. Players who like to go solo can surely use a company at West Virginia base, be it a strange creature like Mirelurk or Mothman.

Wastelanders free update for Fallout 76 has managed to garner praise and is probably ushering a redemption era. Bethesda Softworks is finally trying to make up to past shortcomings and may end up including a story DLC at some point.
