The Long Dark Free on Epic Games Store Now

Moving a cap of weekly supply, Epic Games brings back daily giveaway madness of last year once again on their digital distribution storefront Epic Games Store, celebrating holiday with 15 days of free games through end of 2020.

Epic Store is offering up PC version of first-person survival game The Long Dark on third day of annual Holiday Sale, which will be available for a limited time to claim and keep forever until December 19, 9:00 AM PT/12:00 PM EDT.

You play as a crash-landing pilot, trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic Canadian wilderness and try to get by. Explore an open-world surrounding that is ravaged by a geomagnetic disaster and be on a lookout for life saving supplies.

The Long Dark is an exploration-based experience from developer/publisher Hinterland Studio that can be played in an episodic-style story mode, one shot challenge mode with varying set of difficulties and of course, a survival mode.

Upon claiming free games on EGS, you will get a $10 coupon to use on any game worth $14.99 or above from ongoing Holiday Sale. You can browse through and find some really good games, including some recent releases of this year.

The Long Dark will remain free on Epic Games Store for next 24 hours and then, fourth mystery game will be revealed for tomorrow. According to a previously leak listing, upcoming Epic Store freebie is tower defense title Defense Grid.
