Horizon Forbidden West Release Date

Back in May 2021, developer Guerrilla Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed a gameplay showcase for upcoming action role-playing game Horizon Forbidden West, coming to PlayStation 4 and 5 console platforms.

Earlier this year and last month, there were rumors claiming Forbidden West may be delayed to next year. Guerrilla Games recently announces to release Horizon II on February 18, 2022, with pre-orders going live soon on September 2, 2021.

Forbidden West is currently in final stage of development and Guerrilla Games is busy polishing the game right now. Amidst ongoing COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, dev team has struggled to adjust with workplace challenges and restrictions.

Sony revealed a 14-minute gameplay showcase of Forbidden West in May through State of Play stream, which offered fans a first-look at Aloy's next adventure as elements like melee combat, free climbing, swimming and lot more was teased.

Also, game director Mathijs de Jonge showed up during Opening Night Live event at Gamescom 2021 to announce releasing an Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn that allows you to unlock 60 FPS via backwards compatibility.

Horizon Forbidden West is one of the biggest PlayStation-exclusives delayed to 2022 alongside Gran Turismo 7 and God of War: Ragnarök. Guerrilla Games originally had plans to release HFW by second half of 2021 until latest announcement.
