Techland has revealed how big Dying Light 2 is by confirming how long it takes to complete upcoming open-world zombie game.
|Dying Light 2 Will Take 500 Hours to Complete 100%
Throughout years of development, upcoming first-person survival horror game Dying Light 2 by developer/publisher Techland was previously delayed twice due to COVID-19 pandemic and is now scheduled to launch on February 4, 2022.
After showcasing various gameplay aspects for past few months, Techland has recently shared massive scale of Dying Light sequel on social media by revealing that it takes about 500 hours to fully complete their open-world zombie game.
Techland has compared a 500 hour-long playthrough of Dying Light 2 to walking from Warsaw to Madrid, which takes around 534 hours. They would soon follow up regarding an estimated completion time to clarify fans on social media.
They explain that anyone looking to experience story and side missions can actually finish DL2 much quicker than 500 hours. In fact, a regular playthrough will take any players less than 100 hours to complete even with lot of exploration.
It would only require you to put about 500 hours for a 100% completion rate, where you need to finish off each side quests, unlock every available endings and navigate through open-world passages of a massive urban European city map.
During an early interview, Dying Light 2 lead designer Tymon Smektała talked about branching storyline. Players' in-game actions would often have major impact on narrative and eventually lead to a number of possible endings as a result.
Of course, a refined parkour system and melee-based combat against zombies keeps you busy for most part in Dying Light sequel. However, it would be very disappointing if there is nothing but hours of repetitive and tiresome gameplay.
