Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Artwork and Release Date Revealed

For last few months, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision has been teasing fans of a major reveal for upcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II this month with images and promo video clips on social media.

Industry insiders are seemingly busy revealing many gameplay details to hype up players as well but no word on a reveal until today. Infinity Ward unveils a brand-new art, returning characters and even a launch date for Modern Warfare II.


Activision will be releasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reboot later this year on October 28, 2022. Although newest Call of Duty franchise entry is expected to arrive on major consoles, dev team has yet to announce its launch platforms.

Modern Warfare sequel makes a display of Simon "Ghost" Riley official artwork on a cargo ship along with his Task Force 141 teammates. Activision won't be releasing a new Call of Duty game next year, making it their last annual CoD entry.

Activision and Infinity Ward shares a new video teaser for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on social media.



Infinity Ward may end up releasing a full trailer early next month, possibly on June 8, 2022 as it is briefly teased in today's video. When a curious fan pointed it out, official Twitter account for Call of Duty has replied with a pair of eye emoji.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II serves as a follow-up sequel to Modern Warfare (2019) and will feature a darker tone. MWII campaign focuses on U.S. special forces fighting against Colombian drug cartel and will introduce a new character.
