Play Anthem With Origin Access

After seven months of drag following launch, Anthem has finally joined EA Access monthly subscription service.

Though debuted as one of most anticipated video games of 2019, online multiplayer action role-playing game Anthem from developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts has been a train-wreck ever since it was released.

After a couple of failed attempts to revive its player base with content and patches, EA has finally made the game available for their subscription-based service EA Access and Origin Access on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Regular subscribers will be able to play Standard Edition of the game and Premier tier members of Origin Access for PC platform can get their hands on Legion of Dawn edition, which has bunch of more cool staffs for each Javelin classes.

Earlier, Origin Access members were only able to get "Play First" trial comprised of a 10-hour preview of main game. Instead of paying $14.99 for Premier subscription, players can now have the game on regular Access for $4.99 only.

BioWare's latest open-world action RPG was updated with endgame activity Cataclysm back in August and received another patch on September 4, yet it could never lived up to its hype or even deliver a decent experience for many who supported it.

At one point there was a rumor that Anthem is likely to go free-to-play anytime and now joining EA Access vault has made it pretty much that. They simply do not have enough content to do that like Bungie did with Destiny 2: New Light.

September 19 will see FIFA 20 to arrive for all three major platforms on "Play First" and full game on Premier. EA Access to add Out of the Park Baseball 20, The Escapists 2, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Vambrace: Cold Soul and Yooka-Laylee today.

After lead producer Ben Irving leaving recently, the future of Anthem seems uncertain but Electronic Arts pledges to continue their support through post-launch content, which still is a critical and commercial disappointment to them.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Revealed and Out Now

PopCap Games and Electronic Arts revealed Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, out now on major platforms.

Earlier in July, developer PopCap Games and publisher Electronic Arts has announced free-to-play mobile game Plants Vs. Zombies 3 on Google Play store from their popular strategy tower defense franchise Plants Vs. Zombies.

It was leaked back in April 2019 that Garden Warfare series will release a new title but then EA revealed and launched their latest third-person shooter game Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville at once on September 4, 2019.

Following a 24-hour countdown on social media, PvZ: Battle for Neighborville is released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is more of an early access version of the game that will be adding features and new modes over time.

For next six weeks, EA will drop content for their newest multiplayer shooter from PvZ series, which is out now for purchase for $29.99 only as Founder's Edition until it gets full release on October 18 as Standard Edition for $39.99.

By time when Battle for Neighborville becomes fully available to play, both versions will have access to all contents. However, some cosmetic rewards are solely exclusive for owners of Founder's Edition for jumping in early.

Many aspects that made their past class-based shooter games successful will be re-invented to fit their new gameplay mechanics. A social hub called Town Center is where you go battling enemies, interacting with NPCs or to find collectibles.

Earlier in a presentation, PopCap reveals at Gamescom 2019 that PvZ: BfN to have ten classes of Plants and Zombies including some fan-favorite heroes from Garden Warfare series like Captain Deadbeard, Citron and Kernel Corn.

There is a ninja mushroom named Night Cap specialized in stealth attacks and a flame spraying attack class called Snapdragon. 80s Action Hero is all about exploding stuffs whereas Space Cadet zombie class can form a space station.

First PvP game mode to go live in Founder's Edition is Turf Takeover where up to 24 players play for an objective. Then 8v8 mode Team Vanquish will be making a return along with anticipated comeback of PvE horde mode Garden Ops.

One particular area Plants vs. Zombies: BfN do not wish to venture is Battle Royale, albeit of some fan-expectation, because either of Plants or Zombies don't fight their own kind and making that would be canonically wrong.

Although there are some premium in-game currency in there, EA representatives strongly emphasized on the fact that there will not be any loot box micro-transactions but players can but every item from Rux's Emporium cosmetics shop.

EA taking an early access approach for Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville like indie studios doesn't make much sense from a financial point but it would eventually help them launch a less bug-filled and more polished game.

Jedi: Fallen Order is Very Similar to Sekiro

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order combat system is "very similar" to From Software's latest title Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

After much anticipation, fans got their long-awaited reveal of single-player action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts at E3 2019, which is set within Star Wars franchise.

Also, a 26-minute long gameplay walkthrough was presented to audience that involves using The Force and lightsaber. Respawn recently confirms to have drawn inspiration for its combat mechanics from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Revealed

Although gameplay demo shown at E3 only gives an idea of how things will play out but not much on how things would feel. Then upon reveal of an extended clip, people started comparing it to From Software's latest release.

Then in a recent interview with Edge Magazine, lead combat designer Jason De Heras stated what Respawn is designing for Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay is very similar to what Sekiro allowed players to do, which was inspiring.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Demo

About combat flow in the game, De Heras had the following to say about Fallen Order in his lengthy interview.

They let you attack, they let you roll, they do all this for free – and then the AI will tell you if you’re doing the correct thing. It just confirmed to us that you don’t have to limit everything the player does; let them have a little more agency, and then let the AI give them a slap on the wrist or a punch in the face. It was a positive thing for us to know there was a game that was similar to ours. Very similar.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Extended Gameplay Demo

Sekiro is known for its punishing difficulty so much so than typical From Software games; it eventually sparked debate among critics, developers and players about whether or not it is keeping people from entirely enjoying the game.

However, it turns out to be less difficult than previous titles by same developer and gotten rid of stamina bar from Dark Souls series, which actually used to put a limit to how many actions player could perform before they need to take a break.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Teaser Poster Leaked

From Software made it so that players could block and slash as much as they want in Sekiro or traverse relentlessly using grappling hook device without ever having to worry about a stamina gauge that would ran out and slow them down.

There are many games out there that tried and mostly failed at mimicking what developers have accomplished with Dark Souls series. Respawn is not looking to copy anything in particular but to take lessons and improvise on it.

RELATED: EA Cancelled BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic Sequel

To make players feel powerful enough when wielding a lightsaber as Jedi Cal Kestis but still make things challenging for him, developers decided to add fodder enemies that will go down in a single hit, like blaster carrying basic Stormtroopers.

Then there are some baddies who can outright block your strikes and fight back pretty well, notably the Purge Troopers we have seen in demo. They will scale up in-game difficulty of facing enemies and will do better than regular troopers.

RELATED: Origin Access Adds 12 EA Star Wars Games

De Heras continues saying, every enemy that you come across in Fallen Order that are capable of blocking has a guard meter, which is similar to Sekiro's guard system and once you manage to break it, you are in for an instant kill with a single hit.

Game director Stig Asmussen of Jedi: Fallen Order has also expressed his appreciation for From Software games even before from the days of making Demon's Souls and especially noting of his all-time personal favorite King's Field II.

Despite drawing inspiration from and being "very similar" to Sekiro for having almost same-styled posture system, Fallen Order would not likely to be as tough as the former and even casual players will probably be able to have a good time.

Respawn Entertainment is eyeing towards releasing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order later this year during holiday season and is currently scheduled to launch on November 15, 2019 worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Soon an EMP explosion causes the Repulsor tower to fall over and it makes Wattson really worried. Containment field around them goes down letting winged dinosaur-like creatures called Flyers and Leviathans to stomp all over the map.

Apex Legends Comes to Mobile

Electronic Arts wants to bring free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends to Chinese market and mobile devices.

In last few years, Battle Royale genre of games were already dominated by Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, February 2019 saw the arrival of Apex Legends that instantly become everyone's new favorite shooter title.

After conquering major gaming platforms like PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts now wants to bring this free-to-play shooter title for players on mobile devices.

During their recent quarterly earnings call, EA has revealed that since the game has been a very successful project so far, they intend to and currently negotiating terms to bring Apex Legends to China and on mobile in future.

Although there is not much detail to look at, it appears that the game would likely to debut on Android and iOS devices. In order to tap into a huge audience in world of mobile gaming, they wish to explore the Chinese markets at the same time.

Given how Battle Royale and free-to-play games becomes popular in past over a very short time, it was about time that Electronic Arts take steps toward mobile gaming territory just like Epic Games did with Fortnite Battle Royale.

In a never-ending battle with cheaters, Respawn has banned over 700,000 players on Apex Legends so far.

Set within the fictional universe of Titanfall series, free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends by developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts became an instant hit upon launch and managed to amass 50 million players in a month.

However, one thing the game has been suffering from other than issues like constantly losing its player count is cheaters and Respawn is actively playing a vigilant role with EA to prevent them from ruining experience for others.

Above mentioned figures are just from past 20 days on PC platform and Respawn has blocked 770,000 players since release. Of course, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are not completely above cheating but those are much easier to keep an eye on.
