Already making waves following launch, 2021 survival horror game Resident Evil: Village from developer/publisher Capcom serves as a sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard that takes newest protagonist Ethan Winters to a European village.

A newfound artwork that came alongside Trauma Pack DLC features a concept of recurring fan-favorite character Ada Wong. These behind-the-scenes images reveal that she was originally a part of Resident Evil Village but was cut in the end.

Resident Evil Village: Trauma Pack DLC includes "The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork", which is bundled with Collector's, Complete and Deluxe Edition that offers a good look at early designs of Ada Wong concept before they were cancelled.

Ditching her classic red dress, she adopts a gothic style by wearing an outfit inspired by plague doctors from 16th century. Rather than resembling to a returning Resident Evil character, Ada Wong looks similar to a hunter from Bloodborne.

Ada Wong was originally introduced in first Resident Evil game back in 1996 through a letter before she made her full appearance Resident Evil 2 as she teamed up with protagonist Leon S. Kennedy as an ally during Raccoon City outbreak.

She last appeared in Resident Evil 6 and its prequel animated movie Resident Evil: Damnation in 2012. If she somehow ended up in Village, it would have been her first solo appearance without Leon S. Kennedy in a mainline Resident Evil game.

RE: Village art director reveals that Capcom originally had plans for a mysterious masked person to save Ethan. Ada Wong went there to investigate but her role was cut because of a number of conflicting scenarios, according to concept art.

Although long-time franchise fans would love to see her back in action, her inclusion in Resident Evil Village might have make things complicated. Ada Wong may return in a future Resident Evil game given most recent success of RE: Village.
