Epic Games Store is offering PC version of puzzle-adventure game The Spectrum Retreat in free giveaway for this week.

The Spectrum Retreat Free on Epic Games Store Now

With an ambitious goal to rival Steam for PC platform, Epic Games has spent millions of dollars to launch and relentlessly promote their digital distribution outlet Epic Games Store, rolling out freebie titles since 2018 on a weekly schedule.

Epic Store is giving away PC version of 2018 indie puzzle-adventure game The Spectrum Retreat for anyone with an EGS account to claim a free copy before July 8, 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM EDT and own it forever in their collection of games.

Played in first-person perspective, The Spectrum Retreat takes you to mysterious Penrose Hotel wandering as a guest and you are tasked to explore its empty premises to eventually find a way to reach its rooftop by someone named "Cooper".

Your character is named Alex, who apparently has no memory of his past before his arrival here and must escape soon. There are robot assistants in almost every corridors of this hotel as you try to get out of here by solving complex puzzles.

The Spectrum Retreat creator Dan Smith has won a BAFTA award for its early version and solely developed it on Unity engine. Though currently up for grabs and doesn't cost a dime for now, it will go back to original $4.99 price on Thursday.

Epic Games Store has announced to giveaway free copies of strategy simulator game Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead and roguelike turn-based RPG title Ironcast for next week that becomes available to download on July 8, 2021.
