Over a year ago, there was a report regarding Resident Evil 4 Remake being under development at Japanese developer/publisher Capcom in association with Osaka-based studio M-Two since 2018, which had a set release window of 2022.

A newly revealed marketing video premiered at PlayStation Showcase 2021 event last week has teased a variety of first and third part IPs, which seemingly featured a clue that could be hinting at upcoming remake project for Resident Evil 4.

Latest live-action commercial highlighting "Play Has No Limits" tagline for PlayStation brand has briefly shown a symbol, which is an insignia that represents Las Plagas parasite and a subtle nod for 2005 survival horror shooter Resident Evil 4.

Reddit user CoronaBeer51 notices that at 1:33 mark of newest PlayStation advert, symbol used for Las Plagas in RE4 can be seen. Halfway through the video, only a glimpse of it is found on a doorway that represents Los Iluminados group.

Some fans have also spotted a Sly Cooper logo in newest advert, which is a first-party IP owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment and therefore, having an Easter Egg for Resident Evil 4 is odd since it has never been a PlayStation-exclusive.

Early rumors of Resident Evil 4 Remake corroborated with a series of assets and data leaks last year. According to insider sources, Capcom has overhauled development strategy by lessening tasks for M-Two and bringing in Division 1 team.

Most recently, Capcom has added a number of references to RE4 remake by making changes to origin story of Nemesis and included "Tentacle Head" zombie types similar to Ganados enemies to make a direct connection to its follow-up title.

With recent involvement of Capcom Division 1, many of original dev team members will return for Resident Evil 4 Remake. Fans are theorizing that an official announcement is likely coming in a future episode of Sony's State of Play broadcast.
