BioWare Teased Dragon Age Announcement

Developer BioWare hinted at possible announcement of an upcoming sequel of their fantasy RPG franchise Dragon Age.

While talking about their upcoming project Anthem, developers BioWare has revealed that they are also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff and thus, straight out hinted at an upcoming announcement of something big at The Game Awards 2018.

General Manager Casey Hudson of the studio mentioned their work as "secret" in a Blog Post and given the upcoming event is a place for many companies to reveal their upcoming release, a new installment from the popular fantasy RPG franchise would not be a shocker.

We thought we would straight up quote Casey Hudson on what he just wrote in his Blog for your own convenience.

If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff.  Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy.  Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)

RELATED: Anthem Gameplay Details

Players clearly have their fond memories with the first game, Dragon Age: Origins for countless hours and now that executive producer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mark Darrah is involved, we can hope for a fourth installment currently in development.

Inquisition was also the last game that came out in 2014 and followed up by downloadable contents till 2015. The studio also disclosed adding Alexis Kennedy of Failbetter Games as a guest writer for the next project of the series to expand a bit of lore.

RELATED: Anthem Won't Have Cross-Play or DLC at Launch

We just hope and pray that this announcement doesn't end up being some major disaster like the reveal event of Diablo Immortal, because people didn't expect a mobile-only new game that was so hyped up from the past few months of the big reveal.

Hopefully, BioWare won't make a stupid move like that and whatever they are cooking up and ready to announce soon will be a new release for PC and other major consoles, so that the franchise can return to its glory days once again.

Monster Hunter Movie First Look Revealed

Official exclusive first-look image of Monster Hunter video game movie adaptation is just revealed today.

Back in May, it became official that Capcom and Constantin Film signed director Paul W.S. Anderson (Alien vs. Predator, Death Race) for a live-action Monster Hunter movie starring his wife and actress Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Ultraviolet) in lead role.

Shooting for this upcoming fantasy action thriller film has already began, which is based on fantasy-themed action role-playing Monster Hunter game series. We have a brand-new exclusive photo from the set showing the first-look of the movie.

The official plot synopsis for the film is also revealed by distribution company Screen Gems recently, which is as follows.

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.

The image features Milla Jovovich as Lt. Natalie Artemis, an original character created solely for the film and not from the game series. Actor Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak, Tom-Yum-Goong) appears as one of skilled warriors that battles large monsters called The Hunter.

Artemis is shown carrying a pair of Dual Blades on her back, a carving knife on thigh and a Slinger on left arm that she showed off earlier on Instagram. Hunter is seen wielding an iconic Giant Jawblade from the game and a Great Hunter's Bow, a look inspired from the Field Team Leader of Monster Hunter: World.

Anderson said in an interview from the set in South Africa that even though the character Artemis is an original character who never existed in the game, her armor and equipment will take direct inspiration from the game franchise.

Take Artemis' chest piece for instance as the Odogaron chest piece takes reference from Monster Hunter: World and the embossing designs are similar as well. Her different outfit only means that she is an avatar of audience that can be customized with different sets.

Although Jovovich herself has been posting photos from the set of the movie for some time that gave us some early glance, none of them actually revealed anything other than what sort of direction the movie is going for or what character are in there.

Shooting at South Africa's Atlantis Dunes, Anderson chose the location for its likeness to the Wildspire Waste from the games. He also plans on showcasing a multiple topographical locations in the film to keep par with the game.

Anderson and Jovovich are teaming up once again after their commercially successful stint on video game adaptations of Resident Evil franchise from Capcom. Aside from Jovovich and Jaa, the film also includes actors Diego Boneta, Meagan Good and Ron Perlman in supporting cast.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Coming to VR

Ninja Theory studio brings the dark world of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice in virtual reality next week.

After debuting from an independent developer/publisher studio Ninja Theory, dark fantasy action-adventure title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice received critical acclaim for its very unique story and gameplay. Initially, the game was released for PC and PlayStation 4 last year. Later, it landed on Xbox One on April 2018 and now finally, it is coming to virtual reality pretty soon through a free update next week as a different version titled Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition.

Check out this trailer below for Hellblade VR release, where company commercial director Dominic Matthews talks about developing this version.

RELATED: No Man’s Sky NEXT Update Live Now

This multi-genre game is coming to virtual reality platforms Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on July 31, 2018. Players who already own the game on Steam can get the update for free upon release. However, it won't be able to support PlayStation VR right now because; the VR Edition currently requires a high-end hardware spec on PC. To run it in an anticipated 90 FPS, you will need at least Nvidia GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU just to experience it on a minimum condition.

RELATED: Limited Edition Spider-Man PS4 Pro Bundle Revealed

The VR update is not just a side story added as an extra bonus feature or a technical demo of some sort. This is very much a near similar version of the original game. After two years of working on the project by running experiments with camera tricks and trying to master head-tracking control, they made it a reality. Matthews explains, this endeavor was just to see their capability to work with virtual reality and to offer fans an extra bonus for free, rather than having a business purpose.

Also, witness an exclusive first look of 14 minutes of VR gameplay footage from this award-winning action-adventure game.

Senua’s dramatically complex psychosis is explored in a fascinating way while still retaining a third-person perspective in VR and not making players feel nauseated at the same time controlling the Pict warrior with head-turns. British developer studio Ninja Theory has done an amazing job in creating a visually stunning Triple-A game that is also artistically superior to many of its peers, while making this all possible with a small team and short budget.

The Wolf Among Us Season 2 Delayed to 2019

Telltale Games is delaying The Wolf Among Us Season 2 to 2019 because of fundamental changes at studio.

Developer Telltale Games have done a splendid job adapting comic-book writer Bill Willingham (Day of Vengeance, Justice Society of America)'s Fables comic book series from DC Comics's Vertigo imprint into one of their epic fantasy interactive episodic graphic adventure. Following the immense success of Season 1, Telltale announced for The Wolf Among Us Season 2 back in July, 2017. It was scheduled to release on 2018 but unfortunately that date is pushed back to 2019 now.

Fans that were eagerly waiting for the latter half of 2018 to see Season 2 of the game probably are a little bit pissed when almost one year after the initial announcement they get to know this shocker! Clearly this should upset many players because we rarely had any follow-up news from the creator studio about its development and now, suddenly out of the blue we get to know that, we should wait another year. That kind of sucks!

RELATED: Telltale’s Walking Dead Collection Announced

Although Telltale have mentioned about the issue recently stating, this inconvenience is totally unintentional and is because of some essential changes since they announced the title last summer. While that doesn't seem like anything big but it can mean that there might be a change of gameplay which will be introduced this time. Plus, they said, the studio will invest this extra time in improving quality and experiment with this project. Does that make any sense to you now?

RELATED: Batman: The Telltale Series on Nintendo Switch Out Now

There is another fact that could possibly be the reason for this delay and it is, the studio laid off 25 percent of their workforce, which is a total of 90 employees. The company responsible for making critically acclaimed games like Game of Thrones, Minecraft and The Walking Dead, has decided to move forward with a smaller team to deliver a fewer but better quality video games in future. Whether or not this restructuring has helped them in their goal, it can be partially responsible for setbacks in their deadline.

RELATED: Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season Details

Bill Willingham’s award-winning Fables worked out amazingly fine with Telltale Games' unique format of storytelling with The Wolf Among Us. Season 1 comprising five-episode was released back in 2013 for every playable platforms like Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. So, we can only hope that the second Season will probably do the same as well.

Milla Jovovich to Star in Monster Hunter Movie

Director of the Resident Evil movies, Paul W.S. Anderson is working once again with Milla Jovovich in Monster Hunter movie.

Although video game movies have a disastrous track record of being unable to please the critics or even successful at box-office, Hollywood will keep making them. What we have coming up next is not something we were expecting though but the notion is still welcomed.

Reportedly, Constantin Film has just signed director Paul W.S. Anderson (Alien vs. Predator, Death Race) for a Monster Hunter movie, which will also star his wife and actress Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Ultraviolet).

Known mostly for her role as Alice in Capcom’s Resident Evil movie series, Milla Jovovich will team up with Paul once again. After her successful stint on that series, that has grossed $1.2 dollars already, Capcom and Constantin Film has set for a budget of $60 million for this upcoming project.

Jovovich appeared in all six films of RE franchise and Anderson directed four of them except Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil: Extinction. Given their past records, that budget is not a risky venture.

Production of the film will begin on September and producer Jeremy Bolt also returns to team up with Anderson and Jovovich. Their last collaboration on Resident Evil: the Final Chapter has earned $312 million worldwide.

Currently, they are working on a newly rebooted Resident Evil series; they are also looking for possibility of a brand-new TV series as well. Apparently, the director has already written a screenplay draft for Monster Hunter movie.

RELATED: New Doom Movie in Development

According to Martin Moszkowicz of Constantin Film, the principal photography will mostly take place in Cape Town, South Africa because of the comfort of same time zone and overnight flights for entire production unit.

Though Anderson directed his previous action horror film franchise to be a huge money maker, he failed to garner any critical praise. However, when your films are earning big-bucks, do you really need to worry about critics? We thought not. So did Capcom and Constantin Film.

The latest installment of action role-playing game series was Monster Hunter: World which was released in January, 2018 for PCPlaystation 4 and Xbox One, which pretty quickly became one of the most successful titles from Capcom by selling over 7.9 million copies within March.

If Paul W.S. Anderson can strike his magic once again for this video game movie (and making die-hard fans upset doing that), we probably are in for a few more films and maybe another huge franchise with some truly amazing visuals.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Comes to Consoles

After experiencing massive success for their role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin in 2014, developer Larian Studios got on board for a sequel and Divinity: Original Sin 2 was released on September 14, 2017 for PC. It soon became a critically-acclaimed RPG title and starts topping Steam by leaving popular video games like Dota 2 and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds behind them at that time. Now to rule the consoles of next generations, it is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platform in August, 2018.

Realizing true potential within the game, Japanese video game development company and publisher Bandai Namco came forth to bring this RPG title to consoles to reach out for an even bigger crowd. This one was sort of inevitable as the developers eventually released Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition for PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One back in 2015, a year after initial release on PC following their immense triumph.

Not only the game has a four-player online co-op mode but it also supports two-player split-screen. Divinity: Original Sin 2 lets players control six in-game characters for a turn-based combat system, each having their very own back stories and different personalities to match. Interestingly, you are allowed to create your own character as well. Flexibility in customizing the game as you see fit is truly satisfying when you cannot just assemble your group but also pick up skills for them too.

Larian Studios started their journey with this sequel from Kickstarter and after they were successfully crowd-funded by the platform, DOS 2 followed the path of success just like it was destined to. Swen Vincke of the developer studio is actually a fan of Bandai Namco for their take on Dark Souls and The Witcher, which made him believe they can properly bring this RPG to its true appeal.

It was declared "Game of the Year" by PC Gamer magazine and at The Game Awards 2017, DOS 2 was nominated as "Best Role-Playing Game", while becoming highest scoring PC game by Metacritic. Considering how Larian Studios previously treated the original game, console versions will surely see some improvements.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Takes Top Spot on Steam

Following the success with fantasy role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin, Larian Studios knew that they had to come up with a sequel for it and they eventually made it in 2014. However, the game was at Kickstarter and had to wait two more years to see its worldwide release after it surpassed its initial goal four times and over. So, this was a very positive sign for them to jump onto the game with the big boys, right?

RELATED: Aegis Defenders Comes to PlayStation 4

Unfortunately, the path to their goal wasn't as smooth as they thought as an accidental fire nearby had caused a massive power outage and left them in the dark, which was totally out of the blue. This also affected Larian's home studio along with a quarter of their city at Belgium. Last minute before the launch is always the most critical moments for the game developers because there are always major or minor issues that find a way to the release and needs fixing.

RELATED: Regalia: Royal Edition Release Date Announced

So, they waited patiently until the power came but trouble was not over for them and they even thought that this launch is not going to happen. The team has then moved to another location with power but the Steam uploader was feeling very cooperative and refused to boot. You can see what the studio has gone though during the crisis in the clip below.

After much-less waiting and struggle, the game finally saw the light and is currently doing well. In fact, the game is doing so well that it has already managed to secure its place on the Top Sellers List on Steam ahead of game like Dishonored: Death of the Outsider that has also released recently.

Swen Vincke of Larian Studios have acknowledged that the non-English translations of the game will be slightly delayed for some change in the script but fans from France, Germany and Russia have requested to release it as it is now and the studio obliged. Hopefully by next week, they all will be updated. In an official Tweet, Larian Studios also announced that‏ Modding support is on its way.

The Wolf Among Us Season 2 Announced

The epic fantasy interactive episodic graphic adventure adaptation of Fables from DC Comics's Vertigo imprint will be back again. After the enormous success of The Wolf Among Us Season 1, Telltale has finally announced the release of The Wolf Among Us Season 2, which is dated for 2018. A brief teaser shown by Telltale referred to Season 2 as “a new story, a new mystery and an all new set of stakes”.

The Wolf Among Us Season 2 Announced

With a dedicated fan-base built on the game's popularity, Telltale was being bombarded with tons of Tweets from the fans regarding Season 2 of the game. So, they had to finally comply after a long period of silence. Here's what they have to say regarding the announcement of the game.

The game has its throwback in 2011 when Telltale, at first, announced a series that is based on the Fable comic-book series. Afterwards, it was renamed as The Wolf among Us. The series debuted in 2013 and ran through the year 2014 with its appearance on mobile and currently on other platforms. The Season 2 brings back Erin Yvette and Adam Harrington as Snow White and Bigby Wolf. Wolf Among Us Season 2 will be available to play on Android and iOS, as well as platforms such as PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Telltale's communication head, Job Stauffer gave eager fans hope that The Wolf among Us would return, his answers to questions in an AMA session reveals and unveil the unknown, although to an extent.

“Something I've always wanted to admit is that while we do have a clear answer to who was who at the end of that story . . . we had also agreed to keep it a mystery for the fans to ponder on their own. Definitely fun to see all of the theories pour out and exciting to pay off our neon-noir story with a femme fatale twist."

Again, Telltale teases The Walking Dead Season 4 for 2018, which will be the final season, completing Clementine’s story. Till now, there has been no clear account of what the plot of the story looks at least, we know that it’s a new this and that. However, even while fans agitate what the story has to render, Telltale promises that it will be a great adventure and I guess we can hold onto that.
