Humble Store Brings Nintendo Switch and 3DS Games

Select first-party Nintendo games for Nintendo Switch and 3DS Games are digitally available on Humble Store.

Although the digital storefront of Humble Store generally sells video game titles and offers limited-time bundles for PC throughout redeem codes for Steam, they have rarely partnered with game developers of other platforms for such ventures.

Joining with them now is major developer/publisher company Nintendo to offer chance to purchase some of the most recent titles released for players on Nintendo Switch and 3DS consoles aside from Amazon or their very own eShop.

Some of the bestsellers and latest release like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, Pokémon Let’s Go!, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Party and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has made it to the initial list of Switch games.

In terms of 3DS titles you can find Pokémon Ultra Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, Super Mario Bros. 3 and the original Legend of Zelda 3DS alongside Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time among over 40 other listings. Are you ready to get on board nostalgia train yet?

Currently, Humble is keeping their Nintendo ventures strictly within U.S. and a $5 discount on games worth $19.99 and above for Humble account holders. In addition to games, they are also offering expansions, season passes and subscriptions for Nintendo Switch Online.

Even though a select portion of most purchases made through Humble Bundle are donated to charity, first-party Nintendo games sold on their web store doesn't qualify for either charity contributions or Humble Rewards, which we think kinda sucks.

Super Mario Odyssey Hacked With Porn

Pornographic images starts showing up in Super Mario Odyssey to the horror of some Nintendo Switch owners.

Developer/publisher Nintendo is known for their family-friendly video games and they encourage young players to enjoy their titles. However, that is at risk now as hackers have found a way that lets them upload custom avatars of their choosing for their profiles in Super Mario Odyssey and as a result, pornographic images starts showing up in the game, which some of the Nintendo Switch owners have noticed lately and many unchecked children are now at risk of viewing mature content.

While communities of PC, PlayStation and Xbox have some toxicity online, Nintendo games were really setting a bar of standard for everyone else and had an innocent play-field for kids. Not only they follow a very strict policy for taking down any abusive or inappropriate content, those who cheat or quit matches online on a regular basis are also gets the boot. It was a solid ground for players of all ages to experience peaceful gaming together but seems like those days are gone now.

By far, these images have showed up in 3D platformer Super Mario Odyssey and Luigi's Balloon World mini-game that came with a free DLC update this year. Players have to find out hidden balloons all over the world in this mode and upon finding them out; it shows the avatar of the person who hid it. Usually, what we see in those avatars are mostly pictures of Nintendo characters and Miis, but people started discovering unpleasant images that are straight out pornographic content.

A curious user on Reddit has recently posted about what sort of obscene images he came across while playing the game. This normally gets players banned by Nintendo and until they offer better parental controls, he urged all parents to take their child's Switch offline. Apparently, a leaked DevMenu has been causing people to get past these normal protocols of the game, which another Reddit user claimed to get his hands on after buying a Switch this week.

What he thought as a “defective” Switch from eBay was actually an EDEV unit, which is a console for developers. Although his post is deleted now, many have suggested releasing the data online for developers and hackers to study and it eventually uploaded to a torrent. With a custom firmware, installing DevMenu is actually pretty simple but unfortunately, people started to misuse the data already by exposing a huge number of children to the threat of watching NSFW images.

Super Mario Odyssey Added New Special Outfits

It's been more than five months that Nintendo has released their platformer Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch. It's easy to get bored for anyone in this long time playing a game with same old costumes and outfits. If that is the case with you then we have good news for you. Two more brand-new costumes have been added to Nintendo Switch in-game shop for the game most recently and one of them might be important for old fans.

One of these outfits is a Satellaview Suit & Helmet and the other being a Baseball Uniform & Batting Helmet. Nintendo has officially announced the news on Twitter with pictures of Mario wearing those attires.

The first outfit is reminiscent to a device that used to let players download games and enjoy them using a satellite connection for Super Nintendo console. The developers launched it for Japan in 1995 but never released this for any foreign marketplace though. Even with the brief little history it had with the company, Nintendo is paying homage by adding that space costume Mario wore in Satellaview’s commercial.

In case if you are wondering, Mario does not look anything athletic like while running and jumping around various levels wearing those baseball uniform at all. You can still dress him up to the uniform of America's national sport as both of them are available right now. Besides, these outfits are also a subtle nod to Nintendo's series of all the Mario Baseball games that came out till day. The striped uniform can be yours for 3000 coins and for another 1500; you can get the batting helmet as well.

Maybe adding these two new outfits are not going to get you excited as a new DLC would have, yet this is something to go back to Super Mario Odyssey for and collect the items as a fan. A while ago, few fans found out these costumes hidden deep beneath the codes within Balloon World update of the game. There was a few more and that means Satellaview Suit and Baseball Uniform are only the start. Costumes like 8-bit Mario hat, Santa outfit and more are just waiting to come out.

Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 Becomes Best-Selling on 2017

Activision has been ruling the video game market for consoles with its best-selling titles; Call of Duty: World War II and Destiny 2.

As 2017 is nearing to the end, many console gamers are probably wondering how well their favorite games did on the market. Because, not all game released over the year didn't do very well as they were expected to and then there are titles that did exceptionally well.

Recently, publisher company Activision has revealed one such news regarding two of their most successful titles of the year over consoles; Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2, which shouldn't come as a shock to gamers as it was almost predictable throughout the year.

Call of Duty: WWII single handedly brought $1 billion from worldwide in November, which is pretty outstanding considering the last installment from Call of Duty series titled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare failed to reach out expectations by everyone on so many levels.

Plus, Infinite Warfare is deemed as commercial failure and with the booming success of WWII, seems like Activision is getting back in the gear once again in the market and the future of the series is safe for now.

They acknowledged that not only Call of Duty: WWII has earned them some big bucks, it also is the record-breaking bestselling console game for the company now. In the 2017 Game Awards, WWII was also picked up as the contender for best multiplayer game among many other AAA titles of the industry, which backs it up pretty nicely.

Call of Duty has always been a successful gaming franchise for the past nine years and with the impressive dominance of the recent entry of WWII, the series proved the power of its very own fan base is like no other once more.

The other game from the same banner this year, Destiny 2 is also doing very well ever since it came out. The game managed to satisfy the eager crowd who was anticipating for its release. According to Activision, it became one of the biggest PC launch upon making debut on Blizzard’s Battle.net.

Though Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 are developed by Sledgehammer Games and Bungie respectively, they both came out in market from the big banner of Activision, which actually proved pretty positive for the games in overall.

The publisher set another history on PlayStation 4 of being the #1 remastered collection with the release of The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Throughout the year other games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was also quite popular among gamers.
