Beyond Good and Evil 2 Gameplay Reveal

Beyond Good & Evil 2 first gameplay footage has been revealed that provides a brief look at how fight in space will be like.

At E3 2017, Ubisoft's upcoming action-adventure title Beyond Good and Evil 2 was teased once again, which is a sequel to original Beyond Good and Evil. Some of the very early stage of gameplay mechanics video of this title is recently released as developers offered up a sneak peak on what the players are getting into when it finally comes out. While they open up for fans of the series after a long break, we got a glimpse at some multiplayer combat action and how a few other stuff works out in-game.

Here is a work-in-progress video that has the gameplay footage showing some played out combat moves and regular co-op activities.

Though this clip is slightly longer than two minutes length, actual gameplay is there for only about 45 seconds. You can even notice a watermark on the video marking it as a “pre-alpha” version of the project. We see a number of different spaceships flying around and how players can also use jetpacks for transportation. Both your role as a pirate in action and piloting those ships are essentially required for two type of game-playing. You cannot just discount one skill for another.

BGE2 promises to be an overall improvement over its predecessor and deliver an experience which is enormous. One of the prime features that we saw in this clip is that how you are allowed to move between your inner or outer surroundings, just like 2016's No Man's Sky from Hello Games. A tight Afro sporting black female named Shani remains the focus for the entire clip, mostly displaying her skills with staff. The fighting style may reminiscent a bit more like the first game but it is better now.

Not only there will be collision between massive airships, it promises to bring back melee sword fight from the original BGE. Players are on a solar system named System 3 and aside from being a pirate captain, roles like medic and spy are there to play but whether or not those tasks would be carried out by AI or other participants are yet to be confirmed. Though the presentation above was relatively short, Ubisoft promises to unveil a lot more at E3 2018 with more details.

There was almost an hour long developer live-stream on Twitch, where creative director Michel Ancel talked about what they have been up to with BGE2.

During last year's E3 media showcase, interested players were invited by developers to join Space Monkey Program, which will allow those individuals to first-hand experience of playing it and sharing their different views. This is more like an inbound beta test that also reveals that the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One upon release even though it is not mentioned anywhere else or no confirmed platforms are announced yet. If the game will be ported to Nintendo Switch or not is still unclear.

The Division Movie Signed Deadpool 2 Director

In the industry of film-making, director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) is becoming a big name these days. Started as stunt coordinator for movies like Captain America: Civil War and The Bourne Ultimatum, he later co-directed John Wick in 2014. Then he took on two films to direct on his own. Seeing his growing reputation, Ubisoft decided to pick him to direct their upcoming movie adaptation of The Division.

Tom Clancy's The Division was based on an aftermath of a smallpox virus outbreak in New York that killed millions. It was spread through paper money during Black Friday and ended up turning Manhattan into a quarantine zone. Whatever remains of the society now looks up to Special Agents from Strategic Homeland Division for help surviving. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Source Code) and Jessica Chastain (Mama, Zero Dark Thirty) are already cast in lead roles for the film.

Originally Stephen Gaghan (Gold, Syriana) was announced as director for the film but since he stepped down, Leitch is roped in as his replacement. As his first solo movie, he directed Charlize Theron starrer Atomic Blonde that came out in 2017. His second project Deadpool 2 is awaiting release on May 16, 2018 featuring stars like Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin and Zazie Beetz. Soon, David Leitch will get busy with Atomic Blonde 2 and Fast & Furious spin-off movie Hobbs & Shaw before working on this movie.

When developer Ubisoft released The Division back in 2016 PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it has grown to become one of their best-selling titles ever by earning $300 million worldwide. This led to a sequel; The Division 2 in development that was announced last month. Adapting the game into a movie has now been in works for too long, even after Gaghan was hired as a director by Ubisoft Motion Pictures.

For years, translating video game into motion picture or any other media has led to a history of train wreck. Things are changing for good with Netflix’s Castlevania series and 1986 arcade game movie version of Rampage lately. Although The Division does not contain a plot that would offer character development but it surely has the potential to appeal to audience as a great action movie otherwise. With names like Chastain and Gyllenhaal attached to this project, it may finally break the haunting video game curse.

Special Operation 1 will help improve Ghosts' stealth skill as they follow legendary Sam Fisher in the field at work. These new challenges will make them more tactical, which actually helps because Ghost Recon Wildlands is a tactical shooter. It wasn't quite long ago when 90's renowned movie monster, The Predator came to tangle with the Ghosts in a PvE mission. Although he was a bit hard on the elite squad and gave them a tough time, they sure learned a thing or two going up against him.

Months ago, we heard a rumor flying of Splinter Cell franchise getting a reboot and we still got no confirmation on that. However, we are glad that Sam Fisher has found a way to come back in action once again even though if it is for a crossover. Voice actor Michael Ironside also returns to portray this iconic character of the series. We might even see him working with special agents of Tom Clancy's The Division in mid-crisis Manhattan of the future shortly afterwards.

Far Cry 5 Breaks Franchise Sales Records

Developer Ubisoft is pretty happy these days as their recent release of Far Cry 5 from long-running first-person action game series has just become the best-selling title in entire franchise. First week sell of this title surpassed double the amount than what Far Cry 4 made upon its initial release. More than half of these sales percentage came from digital purchase though. Before this title, only Tom Clancy's The Division saw such grand launch as another Ubisoft-made game.

The studio has more to add along with those record-breaking sales numbers, because there are more to put in. Following the release of Far Cry 5, over 55,000 hours of gameplay was streamed on Twitch and videos on YouTube have crossed 117 million views. These two are both records for any Ubisoft game to have within a week of their launch. This clearly shows how positively players of Far Cry community have taken the game and their enthusiasm is coming out in numbers.

Aside from the sales bump, players are also leaving mostly positive feedback towards the game. It also becomes a best-selling title in UK as well. There is also some crazy statistics data gathered from the game like how many dynamite sticks have been thrown or how fake brands were created solely for the game and all you can possibly think of. Official Ubisoft Blog has recently released an infographic chart that has listed all of them and we are leaving it right below for you to check out.

Far Cry 5 is the first among the series to have an American setting and players are allowed to explore a vast location of fictional Hope County, Montana as they want.

Far Cry 5 IT Movie Easter Eggs

We already know now that Ubisoft's action-adventure first-person shooter Far Cry 5 pits you against a militaristic doomsday cult called Eden's Gate as a rookie sheriff's deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana. What we recently discovered is that it also has two indications to a certain creepy character from Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel that has been adapted to a successful TV Series and a live-action film. Yes, we are talking about Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

No, we are not trying to raise your hopes by indicating that "IT" from King’s story to appear on Far Cry 5 or actor Bill Skarsgård portraying a maniacal cult member with his frightening voice. In fact, there are two clear Easter Eggs for the keen eyes, which has become quite a buzz for the gamers who are trying to find it for themselves.

IT Movie Easter Egg

RELATED: Far Cry 5: Inside Eden’s Gate Short Film Announced

The first reference you will come across is a shiny red balloon just outside a sewer pipe near John’s crop circle and it seems that the developers have picked it up from Andy Muschietti's 2017 movie. Although, Pennywise the Dancing Clown was not waiting on the other side, many have chosen not to enter at their own risk. O’Hara’s Haunted House holds the second Easter Egg for players who pass through halls to discover another red balloon beside a chair as a note that reads:

“You have the fear of god you need the of THE DEVIL you need to FEAR IT you take a young person and take their body and mind you use their empty corpses to find more young people whose bodies you can steal no no NO no no you will wish your mind was scooped out of your body because when IT is through with your bodies YOU WON’T WANT THEM ANYMORE.”
This disturbing note pretty obviously nods to Pennywise by mentioning "IT" on last paragraph. Hope County, Montana is already a weird place with its very own mysteries surrounded by Eden's Gate cult and now these references adds up to that list. If you play the game, you will notice after a while that there is not a single child around. Is it because Pennywise has left the town long ago when he was done with the kids or these hints crossovers with Stephen King’s Multiverse?

Far Cry 5 Launch Gameplay Trailer

The fifth installment of Ubisoft's action-adventure first-person shooter franchise is about to come out sooner than you think and we got a launch gameplay trailer ahead of it. Yes, we are talking about Far Cry 5, which developed by both of Ubisoft's Berlin and Montreal division. There are a few things that are making fans excited about the game and then there are controversies but eventually it's coming out and will probably make an impact as well.

A narrator starts telling that despite being named Hope County, how a militaristic doomsday cult named Eden's Gate take it over believing the end of the world is coming soon. The heart of the cult is the seed family who are forcing people to devote themselves to their cause and it's like the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse trying to take over the town. Jacob Seed serves the sect by recruiting, John is the Baptist, Faith acts as a pacifist to keep people in line and then there is the leader of the cult, a preacher named Joseph Seed.

Splinter Cell Upcoming Reboot?

One of Ubisoft’s old crown jewel was the award-winning stealth video game series of Splinter Cell and it truly set a landmark upon its debut in 2002. The franchise gave us some pretty good story of black-ops agent Sam Fisher and unbelievable stealth in gameplay, which made the series into the legend it has become; spawning games like Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow.

Splinter Cell Upcoming Reboot?

The last game of the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series was released five years ago from now and that was 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The game took a slightly different path than the other titles of the series and replaced Michael Ironside as voice actor for protagonist Sam Fisher. Not surprisingly, the game heavily under-performed and Ubisoft was not quite happy with the reception it got. So, considering these facts they shelved the project and moved on with a Splinter Cell movie adaptation but even that faced some trouble with scripts.

However, fans of the Splinter Cell series may rejoice a little as an apparent Amazon listing of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 2018 showed up under Ubisoft for a very brief time and eventually taken down even sooner. Before the takedown, a Reddit user named HurtPotato was able to take evidence for the internet. The game will most likely be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while a Nintendo Switch version is uncertain.

Since E3 2018 is getting very closer, we can only assume that Ubisoft just don't want to reveal anything at all before they do on that big event. That means, fans of the franchise can expect official news regarding Splinter Cell this summer and at this point an E3 reveal would only make sense for a game that has been on a hiatus for this long. Because, we definitely are not going to have another Assassin’s Creed game this year after Assassin’s Creed Origins and Ubisoft will look for something to fill in.

Last year at E3, Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft stated that they haven't forgotten about Splinter Cell in response to a question regarding the future of the series. Looks like things are all adding up themselves and we just need some official announcement right now. We hope that the developer make a great comeback in 2018 with the newest Splinter Cell title. Also, we are hoping to get some better look at upcoming The Division 2 that was announced a few days ago.

The Division 2 Announced

Developer Ubisoft's online-only action role-playing game Tom Clancy's The Division came out in 2016 after three years of revealing the title. The game was based on an outbreak in New York City as a group of Strategic Homeland Division agents called The Division gets into the situation to bring order. Recently, Ubisoft has officially announced that a sequel; The Division 2 is currently under development.

This game got some potential and people loved it when it was a brand-new release but that quickly changed when there were almost no post-game content or frequent updates. Within the next few months, The Division saw a huge drop of player count, which is 93 percent in total. This is considerably tragic for a game that broke the record for first-day sales of Ubisoft and was full of promises. The studio then managed to raise the number a little higher with regular updates.

RELATED: Far Cry 5: Inside Eden’s Gate Short Film Announced

Hopefully, their initial obliviousness had taught Ubisoft to not repeat the mistake of neglecting a franchise post-release and they got back at their feet again. Now they can effectively apply those lessons learned from their past mistakes for course correction as they bring the sequel. A single image of The Division 2's logo was first leaked on Twiiter by Jason Schreier of Kotaku and then the developers officially confirmed the leak after a few hours.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is being made by Massive Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment, collaborating with all the fractions of Ubisoft. Creative director Julian Gerighty of Massive Entertainment states that they always envisioned The Division as part of a larger series and thus comes the sequel. With that being said, we can only guess for a third installment if The Division 2 becomes a successful project.

RELATED: Far Cry 5 Season Pass Details

The developers are going to use an upgraded version of the Snowdrop engine, which was used to create the first game and was unique to it. This is a very good point for the sequel as the impressive graphics and gameplay of the first game was what made it popular. Besides, they have possibly learned a lot from their mistakes and we only hope that they make better use of that learning, which also means more contents and expected updates.

RELATED: Rainbow Six Siege: Outbreak Details

Though developer Ubisoft has a habit of announcing games too early, we heard that The Division 2 will be fully revealed at E3 2018. On the plus side, they have decided to continue their support for the first game even after the Year 2 Celebration, which includes major initiatives like arranging global events and Xbox One X enhancements. Let's just hope they don't shelve The Division 2 for three years before release like its predecessor.
