Far Cry: New Dawn Announced

Ubisoft takes the stage of The Game Awards 2018 to announce Far Cry: New Dawn in a post-nuclear playground.

Just a day before the event of The Game Awards 2018, developer/publisher Ubisoft decided to drop a teaser for their next ambitions chapter of Far Cry series, which is one of their most critically-lauded franchises of first-person shooter titles.

The internet was quick to point out the teaser trailer probably is hinting at the endings of Far Cry 5, the latest standalone title in the series and guess what? They were actually right. The newest standalone sequel to FC5 is announced, titled Far Cry: New Dawn.

Hope County is not anything like you used to know before and turned into something entirely different. Seventeen years after a nuclear meltdown, the world has changed and this direct sequel to previous installment actually comes back in a vibrant new world.

You'd think that a world-ending level of catastrophe will leave the place in dust but nature worked its magic and bounced back a colorful superbloom to the place. A new community is build but it is threatened by a scavenger's gang called Highwaymen led by twin sisters, Mickey and Lou.

When the unforeseen event took place, the twins were just kids and they learned about the harsh reality of growing up in a wasteland frontier. They formed this vicious gang of like-minded looters who lives life like there is no tomorrow.

These nomadic savages move from one place to another within the countryside, take resources for themselves from anywhere they can find and kills or take people into the group when they came across in way of their journey.

Doing what they do in general, they finally arrived back in Hope County and the survivors of the ruined town would need help from players to withstand the tyrannical oppression the Highwaymen are about to inflict on them.

Aside from shooting guns, you will need to work with the survivors to make a Homebase, where you craft makeshift weapons and train hired guns and fangs like Timber as you have before as Boomer. You are back into the Mad Max-esque world if you are wondering.

Currently scheduled to release on February 15, 2019, Far Cry: New Dawn will see launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the price of $39.99 only. Explore and survive in a post-apocalyptic world to re-purpose resources for leading a fight against the marauders.

On surface, the game seems to have a smaller-scale premise even for a sequel, something similar to the spin-off release Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. What we can see so far is that it looks like a newly designed Fallout game foundation with revamped elements of RAGE 2.

Far Cry 5 Game Awards 2018 Teaser

Ubisoft goes full post-apocalyptic with Far Cry series in a new teaser trailer for The Game Awards 2018.

The latest installment of action-adventure first-person shooter game series Far Cry from developer/publisher Ubisoft was Far Cry 5 that came out earlier this year and became one of the fastest-selling games of the franchise despite controversy.

Now, ahead of The Game Awards 2018, Ubisoft has unveiled a brand-new cinematic trailer for their upcoming project as a follow-up to the series that has a post-apocalyptic vibe. Though the video doesn't give away much, we can still sum up a few part on our own.

Take a look at this video of upcoming Far Cry project/sequel with a short narrative below released this afternoon.

RELATED: Far Cry 5 Fan Recreates Jurassic Park

Though, we don't have much details on our hand to work with, the teaser surely looks like it is connected to FC5 and may even serve up a follow-up sequel, whereas all of the previous games from the series came out as standalone releases.

The opening shot of the teaser shows us a farmhouse across wheat fields and mountains in the distance, which has a striking resemblance to Hope County, Montana. Then a sudden nuclear explosion goes off on the horizon with a blinding light and a mushroom cloud blooming.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR FAR CRY 5.

Everything goes up in flame and the wheat fields get destroyed as we see it happen in slow motion. Then years after, that place saw blue sky but the world that emerged from the husk of the old one is not the one that had any hope in it.

You cannot make something concrete out of these vague images for sure but the nuclear meltdown event most probably is the one we saw from the ending of Far Cry 5. It seems that a mixture of Fallout and RAGE 2 is coming this way by the looks of it.

Now, we will have to wait some more to get a full reveal of the new game at The Game Awards event to know whether Ubisoft is sending players on post-apocalyptic journey into post-nuclear Montana by moving far from the rest of the series or go to another direction.

Taking in account that it hasn't been a full year since Far Cry 5 was released and launching multiple DLC packs already, the company is ready to work with the same IP is quite interesting. We just hope the reveal excites us and everyone in the end by offering fans another spectacular open-world sandbox.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Lets You Unlock Bayek

As a tribute to Assassin's Creed Origins, you can unlock Bayek as a Legendary-level lieutenant in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

With Assassin's Creed Origins, developer/publisher Ubisoft has set a new framework for their popular action role-playing franchise and Assassin's Creed Odyssey is simply following that groundwork from its predecessor as the latest title from the series.

The reinvention worked fine for Origins and the sequel is doing even better following the same formula for most part. In order to connect to the larger Assassin's Creed world and as a nice callback to the previous game, they have added Bayek in Odyssey.

Though Bayek can be unlocked within the game, he is still not a playable character in the game. Instead, he will assist your selected character, Alexios or Kassandra as a Legendary level lieutenant during the Peloponnesian War onboard the ship Adrestia.

Just because he is not a playable character doesn't mean that Bayek could come in handy naval battles and offer buffs to the vessel. He will talk to Adrestia's crew and when boarding on enemy vessels, he can assist you as well.

According to the rarity, lieutenant's perks can vary and so does their amount of damage inflicting ability. Since Legendary is the strongest among Epic, Rare and Common level, having him on your side is like having an ace on the deck.

Lieutenants can also aid in combat when player summon them using their ability "Call to Arms" under the Stealth branch of skill tree. Depending on their weakest to strongest level, they will either distract enemies to provide cover or even kill them.

This is not the first time where Odyssey brought a protagonist from a previous Assassin's Creed game to feature as a lieutenant. Earlier, the game drafted Victorian era assassin, Evie Frye from Assassin's Creed Syndicate as a Legendary lieutenant.

Aside from aiding Alexios or Kassandra on board, she wielded a spear on fight and buffs javelin damage by 9%. Available as Ubisoft Club reward, both Evie and Bayek can be assigned as lieutenants at the same time when you upgrade the Adrestia.

Evie can be unlocked by completing the Master Assassin challenge whereas Bayek would be up for 40 Units at Ubisoft Club. Though it is not absolutely necessary but as you can see, having them watching your back is a great relief when you are fighting.

Currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Assassin's Creed Odyssey added these characters as additional content, which is a fun piece of nod to their expanded in-game universe and fans who haven't been following the past games for so long can sure appreciate the effort.

For Honor Marching Fire Update Details

New Marching Fire update brings graphical revamp, Breach mode and brand-new Heroes to For Honor next week.

Action fighting game For Honor from developer/publisher Ubisoft has just crossed the mark of 15 million players recently. In August, the game was available on the listed free games for Xbox Live Gold and then the Starter Edition was offered for free on Steam.

On October 16, this third-person multiplayer title is releasing Marching Fire free update for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which will bring bigger changes like design improvements and visual remaster while the expansion will add new content.

Before you fire up the warrior spirit within you for the Marching Fire, let's take a look at the details of this upcoming expansion and update.

The developer team actually planned to remaster the game earlier before the release and it was never meant to be taken as new maps. Players should look at these maps as the ones they have already played but it should give a better feeling after the visual upgrade.

For example, when in Valkenheim map, it should feel cold around as well as look like it and it is carried out with a sense of temperature. The land of Ashfeld on the other hand should convey warmth to seem more realistic in details of visual aspects.

Rooftops or the ground of Temple Garden is now covered in more snow and it will feel like a cold winter there. Particular pieces of every texture are improved with more precision and source of lighting allows you to notice these all too clear.

Even when battling in dark areas, there will be some light coming from windows or vantage points and makes your surroundings less flat than usual. This is an overhaul that updates all in-game multiplayer maps as well content from story mode.

All players who have already joined the medieval fighting game can access to the graphical upgrade and the newly introduced 4v4 Breach mode to play attack and defense tactics. This gives you the vibe of either defending your own fortress or raiding one.

The expansion of Marching Fire adds 4 new heroes of a Chinese-influenced new faction, Wu Lin and a new Arcade mode on October 16 for the price of $29.99 only. Everyone else can unlock these new heroes later on from October 30 in exchange for 15,000 Steel each.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for Xbox One X

Enhanced graphics aside, Xbox One X provides the best experience for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in overall.

Before taking a year off in 2019 from their action role-playing Assassin’s Creed game series, developer/publisher Ubisoft has released the latest installment of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on October 5 for all major platforms.

It was also given an enhanced treatment for Xbox One X to offer the best visual experience on the console, which is currently considered as one of the most powerful system there is. The teams involved in development put their best effort to tell the most compelling stories though the game.

When creating Assassin’s Creed Origins, the studio took a technological leap which helps them forge Odyssey. The enhanced feel of 4K on consoles channels a majestic vibe that improves the overall gameplay for players, which is much smoother than base video game consoles.

Using the perks the system offers, they tried providing a higher level of detail in demonstrating a dense crowd. Depth of field is improved during the dialogue deliveries and higher resolution of textures will be generated around player character.

RELATED: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Season Pass Details

Obviously, better details in texture of display will make the surrounding in-game world alive and that is what makes an immerse experience of Ancient Greece. What everyone will come across in other platforms, the power of Xbox One X will push further to do better.

The amount of RAM available within the device allows welcoming a lot of augmentation possibilities. The transition of every other surrounding in 4K HDR will make it near impossible for anyone to go back to playing it on any other platforms.

RELATED: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Choices and Consequences

Capacities provided by Xbox One X have allowed the team to do more and execute their plans more flawlessly for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Your experience will be of next level if you haven't lost yourself into an open world game like this one before.

Even in comparison to the output of PlayStation 4 Pro, X fares a lot better result in terms of graphical clearance and pixel-count. So, with everything we have at hand right now, hopefully it is safe to say that Odyssey is best played on Xbox One X.
