Death Stranding Rumored to Announce Release Date?

Rumor has it that Sony will announce a release date for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding at The Game Awards 2018.

It all begin at the E3 2016, when former Digital Entertainment president of Konami, Hideo Kojima took the stage to reveal his upcoming action game project Death Stranding from his studio Kojima Productions and people who know of his work lost their minds.

He also revealed that the game is going to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and will be a PlayStation 4-exclusive. No official release date has been given so far for the game but rumors are suggesting an announcement on that with new footage is on the way.

After shooting down the possibility of attending E3 2019, Sony opted out from this year's PlayStation Experience claiming they don't have enough to show off even though they have both Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima in development.

According to Brazilian website Combo Infinito, they have learned from someone close to Sony Brazil that Sony may showcase trailers for the above-mentioned titles at The Game Awards 2018 and reveal release dates for the games.

None of these buzz brings any absolute evidence to the table but it's not like Sony ever made such big announcements during a show like this and given the relationship Geoff Keighley of The Game Awards has with Kojima, it wouldn't be shocking if Sony does so.

From the very moment of revealing back in 2016, Hideo Kojima has kept the story of Death Stranding as a mystery to everyone. However, that never stopped people from theorizing about it. Do you really think that Sony would announce the game's official release date at The Game Awards 2018?
