Death Stranding Getting Photo Mode for PS4

Kojima Productions recently confirms that Photo Mode feature for Death Stranding will arrive on PS4 very soon.

When release date for PC version of open-world action strand game Death Stranding was announced earlier by publisher 505 Games, a much-requested Photo Mode was revealed to be added but was not confirmed for PlayStation 4 yet.

A few weeks later, game director Hideo Kojima came out assuring a Photo Mode for PS4 version as well, which was not surprising though. This feature will become available for players on console in a patch released by end of this month.

Following original announcement for Photo Mode, fans have been bugging Kojima on Twitter asking for its PS4 release. It turns out developer Kojima Productions has been already testing out this latest feature for some time to release soon.

Therefore, owners of Sony console are getting their hands on it way ahead of upcoming PC version release in June 2, 2020. However, platform exclusive Half-Life themed content for DS will not likely to make a jump to PS4 anytime soon.

Kojima shared a few of his experiments with Photo Mode on social media and it appears to work similarly as other staple PS4 title like God of War. He also hinted of a "psychic photo" mode that he used in past for Metal Gear Solid games.

Kojima Productions have yet to reveal an official release window for next Death Stranding update that will introduce this feature and let all enthusiast video game photographers to capture their journey Sam Porter Bridges.

Death Stranding Rumored to Have Missed Sales Targets

According to recent report, Sony is disappointed with overall sales of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding.

Without a doubt, open-world action strand game Death Stranding from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment was one of the highly anticipated games of 2019 for players on PlayStation 4.

Not only have this game divided player community over whether to call this an absolute masterpiece or an ambiguously boring experience, even Sony is a bit disappointed at its sales, according to a forum posting in ResetEra.

A moderator on ResetEra forum known as Dusk Golem, who usually Tweets stuff about horror games have shared some new information that after sales of Death Stranding has been quite a letdown following initial launch window.

Sony had some high hopes for its sales number after release but the game failed to reach many of their speculated milestones. Moreover, there are currently more than 3 million unsold copies still lying around in their warehouses.

Death Stranding is arguably considered one of the most divisive titles in recent years and there was some trouble during its development period. DS had a mixed reception from both critics and players, dividing over their own opinions.

Sony expected a much darker take, resembling to more horror-esque experience but upon disagreement with game director Hideo Kojima, the game was softly rebooted only a year and a half before launch to rush development.

Besides, Sony Worldwide Studios was not very happy with how much money Kojima Productions were spending for Death Stranding and their differences has eventually led the game end up not being a PlayStation 5 title after all.

Dusk Golem clarifies at start that he has no solid source at hand right now to verify these claims and warns everyone to take it with a grain of salt. However, a few of his threads actually line up nicely to some related speculation from earlier.

Despite a lack of return on investment in their recent endeavor, Sony is still eager to continue partnership with Kojima as they struck a deal with Konami lately to work on Silent Hill series reboot that would require a smaller budget.

Developing a horror game from well-known franchise would cost a lot less and associating with Kojima's name would create a spike of hype among fans and would be a huge seller for PlayStation brand to make enough financial return.

Throughout this month, the game has seen a 25% price drop at many retail shops, which has dropped even lower this week. Amazon and Walmart stores are currently selling it for $29.99 only to get rid of warehouse inventory fast.

Unlike major exclusives like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn or Marvel's Spider-Man, no milestone for Death Stranding was shared by Sony on social media so far and it even struggled to stay on top of sales charts after release.

Death Stranding Gets 50% Price Drop

Throughout this month, Death Stranding offers a huge discount and drops to its lowest price since launch.

Prior to its launch by end of last year, developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment saw immense hype among fans for open-world action strand title Death Stranding by game director Hideo Kojima.

Earlier in March 2020, there has been a price drop from as low as 15% to 25% at select retailer stores and today, the game gets another price reduction at Walmart shop, bringing its worth to lowest ever since November 2019 release.

Walmart is currently offering Death Stranding for $29.99 only, which is 33% lesser than its previously set price of $44.99 from weeks ago. Even Collector's Edition of Death Stranding comes at a cheaper price of $149.99 only at 25% off.

This $199.99 worth bundle with tons of themed goodies being sold at a known reseller at such reduced price is a steal to be honest. Fans who always wanted to own one of those and was looking for a discount may try to grab one as well.

Moreover, there is a BB Pod Statue, BRIDGES Cargo Case, Ludens Keychain, Steelbook case and additional digital content. A similar price drop is also reflecting in Amazon listings for this must-have item alongside other variant editions.

Open-world action game Death Stranding from Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment is now available on PS4.

Set in a dystopian supernatural world of near future, open-world action strand game Death Stranding from developer Kojima Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment is now available for PlayStation 4.

As people living in isolation require supplies, they rely on reputed deliveryman Sam, who works for a company named Bridges. Aside from handing out parcels, he attempts to reconnect United Cities of America under a Chiral Network.

He is aided by his "DOOMs" factor to be aware of mysterious BTs at all times but additionally he carries a Bridge Baby and an Odradek scanner. Sam is handed over his missions by fellow Bridges member Deadman and Die-Hardman.

Amount of packages you carry out will affect your overall performance but you can always use a bike or steal an enemy truck to reduce trouble. Other than walking on foot, sometime you may have to rely on ladders and ropes on various terrain.

Having too much goods on your back will even hold you back from resisting when BTs will try to drag you out. Handing over these requested cargos would often bring you new cosmetic items, working tools or something to fight them.

Death Stranding Update for Days Gone Live Now

Bridge Baby from Death Stranding makes its way into open-world survival game Days Gone in latest update patch.

Now that Death Stranding, hotly-anticipated action strand game of 2019 has been released for PlayStation 4, players can finally get a career of making deliveries in a post-apocalyptic world carrying their "Bridge Baby" in a pod.

However, PS4 owners can also go out exploring another dystopian world of survival horror in Days Gone from developer Bend Studio with its newest content update, carrying same theme from latest title of Hideo Kojima.

Recent release of patch 1.6 brings exclusive cosmetic upgrades for free that are unlockable in both starting a new game and game plus mode. Your motorbike tank gets replaced with a BB unit usually carried around by Sam Porter Bridges.

You will be riding Deacon's same drifter bike model but it will be modified with tanks, decals, and frame paint. This probably doesn't give you the same weird vibe of Death Stranding but having BB sucking its thumb inside is pretty close.

Instead of being haunted by ghostly creatures known as "Beached Things", players will be running away from hordes of freakers. Whether they are chasing a guy on a bike or a baby in gas tank matters little to these mindless monsters.

Additional fixes include ability to numerously reset Ambush Camps, Hordes, Infestation Zones and Jobs. "Black Friday" leaderboard gets a one-time only reset and number of Freaker ears is increased to let you repurchase ammo and weapons.

Days Gone arranged an unconventional cross-promotion to celebrate launch of Death Stranding that only make sense in a twisted way. Another nice little common ground these two titles have is that they both divided critics and fans upon release.

Hideo Kojima might have teased a planned Death Stranding sequel that will arrive on PlayStation 5 console.

Now that upcoming action game Death Stranding has just completed development and finally wrapped up, fans are eagerly waiting on the edge of their seats for its release after a few weeks on November 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4.

Though the game is not out yet, game director Hideo Kojima has stated having plans for a possible sequel. It would probably take him a couple more years to develop Death Stranding 2, which is likely to be a PlayStation 5 title.

Despite being a largely anticipated title, many criticized the game as a walking simulator at Tokyo Game Show 2019. Kojima clarified that his latest project is a "Social Strand" game and he is open to sequels to establish this new genre.

Hideo Kojima previously approached stealth genre with Metal Gear Solid series and eventually established a new category with a series of sequels. Now he wants to deliver players a new type of gaming experience that he calls strand genre.
